What is my grade in my class when there are different percentages that need to be included?
Q. My biology class grade is based upon two things: my lecture grade and my lab grade. 75% of my entire grade is based upon my lecture grade. 25% of my entire grade is based upon my lab grade. Currently, I have a 79.3% in my Lecture grade. I have a 77.9 in my lab grade. What is my grade total at this point?

What grade can you transfer out of high school 9th or 10th?
Q. My Guidance Counselor told me that I can transfer schools in the 10th grade. Does that mean that when I begin 10th grade and transfer during that year, or after I finish 9th grade, and then in September I go to another high school in 10th grade, I'm mixed up. Is it during 10th grade or during the end of 9th grade?

A. You can probably leave at the end of 9th grade.

What grade on a test do I need to keep my A in the class?
Q. I currently have a 94.14 in the class. The final is worth either 16% or 20% of our grade (can't remember) can someone do both calculations of what grade I need to get on the final to keep at least a 90% in the class?
Asked by J - Mon May 25 19:11:47 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. If your final is worth 20%, do the following. 1) Multiply your third quarter grade by 2 2) Multiply your fourth quarter grade by 2 (if you are in semesters, just multiply the grade by 4) 3) Add these two numbers together 4) If you want 90%, take 450 minus the number added above. (the 450 is 90% out of 500) 5) This will give you the percentage you need on your exam to get an A About a 74%

In what grade in high school should I start applying for scholarship programs?
Q. I'm a freshman in high school and I'm starting to think about scholarships. I've heard that if you get really good grades and do extracurricular activities, the previous schools you went to will give you scholarship money (like your elementary school, high school). Is this true? When should I start applying for scholarship programs? Do I have to pay for anything? I heard that you should start applying in 11th grade.
Asked by Luv 311! - Thu Nov 22 21:17:25 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You can start applying now, but you're off to a good start on clubs and grades. Most of the time a college is going to look at your last two years of high school. If you're paying someone to do a scholarship search then it's a rip off. Legit companies do scholarship searches for free. You shouldn't have to pay anything to apply for a scholarship either. Most of the time if you're eligible for the scholarship they want you to write a paper or send a creative video, etc. Good luck!

What are the best grade 7 and grade 8 music theory workbooks?
Q. I have grade 6 theory and wish to teach myself grades 7 and 8 theory. I know there the official ABRSM workbook (music theory in practice) and then there's also the ones with the white front cover with a large number on it. Which of the two would you recommend, or are there better books out there?
Asked by Special E - Sun Jun 21 07:43:36 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. On their websites you can usually download .pdf files explaining the content. It also depends on if you are interested in classical or contemporary because they are quite different exams. LCM does popular music theory exams. I wouldn't know what is more credible or not but I suppose one way to find out could be to compare the content and see which (if either) looks more advanced.

How do you find your grade point average if tests are 70% of your grade and homework is 30%?
Q. My pre-algebra teacher has it to where tests and quizzes make up 70% of our grade and homework makes up 30%. I don't know how to average my grade like this.
Asked by Csassie - Tue Oct 7 20:39:18 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You add up all of your quizzes and tests. Let's say there are 10 and they are scored out of 100 point scale. Let's say you have 950. You divide that number by the amount of quizzes and tests(10) and have your quiz and test average. You do the same with your homework. Now you Multiply your quiz/test average by 0.70 and then multiply your homework average by 0.30. Now you add these two numbers together. Magically your grade appears.

A. If you are going into 7th grade - lipstick/gloss is fine. maybe you can add shadow in 8th and mascara in 9th. Line is really unnecessary for middle school (or high school) but most kids start wearing it around age 16.

You need to contact National Merit and let them know ASAP that you will be graduating early. With this option, you receive the scholarship beginning your freshman year of college. What is the difference between high grade and normal flour in baking?
Q. I want to bake blueberry muffins, but the recipe requires 2 1/2 cups of flour, and I only have 1 1/2. I have plenty of high grade flour, for bread making, however. Can I mix normal flour with high grade? Can I use just high grade? Or do I need to get more normal flour?
Asked by Cammie - Sat Feb 7 18:12:05 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Milling Quality is based on flour yield from softness equivalent and micro test weight. High flour yield is associated with high straight-grade flour yield and with low separation . The flour yield, which is known to relate to softness. i think you should use the proper measurements when baking, but be aware that you may get a heavier or lighter product than with normal flour. Normal All Purpose flour is heavily sifted, the difference between regular All Purpose and High Yield is the milling and gluten, which means your baked good may come out crustier. What I can suggest is that you sift the high yield flour about three times then measure it out for what you need, it should be alright.

How to calculate the grade I need on my final exam to improve my current grade?
Q. The final exam is 20% of my complete grade for the semester. I want to get an A- in my french class so I wanted to find a formula to estimate what grade I needed (from a B+ ) to achieve that; I have an idea of how to kind of do it current grade(1.8) - 0.2 +(grade you want to get)--> this is probably wrong but somewhat the ideal

A. Current grade times 0.8 plus final grade times 0.2 Add thoes up for your final score in the class. Example: If you have an 87% right now going into the final 87% times 0.8 = 69.6 Now add in the final - lets say you get a 95% 95% times 0.2 = 19 Add 69.6+19 together to get your final grade. In this case it is a 88% Goodluck on your final!

A. I live in Australia and I'm doing them in 10th grade. Polynomials are quadratics that can be factored. Polynomials are in the same form as quadratic. i.e. ax^2+bx+c=0 e.g. 4x^2+3x-7=0 Find 2 numbers multiply to get -7. One of the numbers has to be multiplied by 4 so that and the other factor of 7 add/minus to get 3. 1 and 7. 1x4=4 7-4=3 (4x+7)(x-1)

What minimum grade of stainless steel should I look for in a kitchen sink?
Q. I have been told to not look below an 1810 grade stainless steel, but then other gradings I have seen are something like 304, or S30400. I have no idea what is what. Can someone please clarify? It's for kitchen and laundry. Thanks very much!
Asked by Pink Slipper Princess - Mon Oct 6 20:11:01 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Usually stainless steel sinks are made with a certain thickness of metal. The lower the number the thicker the metal. An 18 gauge sink will resist damage much better than 20 or 22 gauge sinks, especially if you plan to wash you pots and pans in the sink. Pots and pans will usually dent a 22 or 20 gauge sink. Also look to see how deep the basin is, a 6 in deep basin will not allow you to wash many of your deep pots.

A. They start getting calls from the registrar telling them to hurry up and submit grades. No, you still get a grade, it just takes longer.
