Haaretz (Hebrew: הארץ) (lit. "The Land", originally Hadashot Ha'aretz - "News of the Land") is Israel's oldest daily newspaper. It was founded in 1918 and is now published in both Hebrew and English in Berliner format. The English edition is published and sold together with the International Herald Tribune. Both Hebrew and English editions can be read on the Internet. In North America, it comes out as a weekly newspaper, combining articles from the Friday edition with a roundup from the rest of the week. Compared to other mass circulation papers in Israel, Haaretz uses smaller headlines and print. Less space is devoted to pictures, and more to political analysis. Its editorial pages are considered influential among government leaders. Apart from the news, Haaretz publishes feature articles on social and environmental issues, as well as book reviews, investigative reporting and political commentary. The Hebrew edition has a core readership of 65,000. The English edition has a subscriber base of 15,000. The newspaper itself has reported a paid subscribership of 65,000, daily sales of 72,000 copies, and 100,000 on weekends. Haaretz's readership includes Israel's intelligentsia and its political and economic elites. According to one media study, "the likelihood of Haaretz readership rises with income, education, and age." Despite its relatively low circulation, it is more influential than Israel's other major daily newspapers. From Wikipedia under the

From Google News Search: "haaretz" Will this chart help me to read Haaretz in Hebrew? Q. Asked by brainless banana - Wed Jan 2 02:31:51 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments What do you think of Hal Lindsay giving Condi and President Bush a important warning? Q. Regarding Israel? The Palestinians and Israelis are scheduled to meet at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., this November. This major "peace summit" is the brainchild of the Bush administration and is under the supervision of U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Though most of the world especially the Arab world seems dubious about the summit's prospects for success, the United States appears bent on forcing some sort of "peace" upon that troubled region. To do so, Secretary Rice is pressuring Israel to drop all of its redline demands. According to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, the Palestinians are pressuring Secretary Rice to guarantee that Israel will relinquish sovereignty over the Temple Mount. I would have thought that his credibility was lost after his prophecies failed to come true in the 80s. Q. Why would they do that? John E I think it is true to say that there is no further sympathy for israelis. They have used all of their credit up. Assuming said individual is not living in a special institution (I do not take advantage of the insane), I have a bridge and some land in Florida for sale. I bet those "medical workers" had no explosive "medical equipment" with them either. By the way, was it Elvis or Yeti who acted as a special investigator for that rag of a newspaper, HAARETZ?
