A. Just a slight variation to Jef's answer: if you're up to it, you could take a tricycle. There are tricycles with Ateneo gate passes that will bring you inside the Ateneo. You can find them at the "pila" on the street just after rounding the corner of Katipunan and Aurora, but I think you'll have to ask the "barker" (or dispatcher?) which trikes can go inside the Ateneo. The basic fare for a special trip (i.e., only one passenger--you) is PhP 7.50 x 3. Distant destinations within the campus (e.g. the high school, or Loyola House of Studies) cost more. But is it safe? Well, many Atenistas have been doing it all the time. But I've heard of cell phones being snatched by thieves on the street who reach into the tricycle cab while it's… [cont.]

A. 1. Take a cab from Manila to Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3. 2. Don't enter the terminal - just keep going straight through Andrews Avenue (a.k.a. NAIA Expressway). 3. On your left you will see Newport City, a planned Airport City in Pasay. They have a large hotel under construction there - that is the Marriott Newport City.

I'll go to Philippines soon. Anyone know how to travel from Makati City to Pasay City?
Q. My hotel is in Makati city but I want to go to the Star City Amusement Park.
Asked by Glitterice - Thu Jul 23 00:33:45 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. If you are a tourist going for the first time to the Philippines, you'll do okay. Makati and Pasay cities are both within Metro Manila and adjacent to one another. If the traffic is not bad, it's a 15-minute ride only to Star City Amusement Park, Star City, Cultural Center Philippines (CCP) Complex,Roxas Blvd. Pasay. U can take any jeepney or bus. Let the bus conductor or the driver know you are going to Star City. This is the cheapest public mode of transport. Or you can go to the nearest MRT station and go down at Taft Avenue then get a connection at the LRT Station in Taft. When you reach Vito Cruz Sation, go down and just walk west to where the sea is. Star City should be about a few blocks away. Go across Roxas Boulevard and that's it! [cont.]

A. I doubt if it's a hotel, it may only be a small apartment. I know of a B. Mayor Street (not B Major Street), about two streets away from the basketball court, where the Stamina Fitness Gym is also located. Nope, it's not normal for a hotel to be called an apartment here in the Philippines. There are lots of better, affordable hotels, motels and travel lodges in the Pasay area that you can choose from.

[Urgent]Clark to Makati City - how?
Q. Hi everyone, This is quite urgent coz I'm going to Philippines on Wednesday night from Singapore. I'll arrive in Clark airport and have to go to Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati City (near Makati & Ayala Avenue). I have learnt that there's a bus from Clark to Manila costs 300-350 peso, here are my questions: 1. The bus stops at SM Megamall and Pasay. I don't understand where exactly Pasay is, is it the Victory Liner bus station in Pasay city, or is it Pasay near the other airport NAIA? At which stop should I alight to get to Dusit Thani faster? Will the bus driver stops somewhere along the way if I request him to (somewhere I can get to the hotel faster). 2. Let say I stop at SM Megamall, I've learnt that it's near an MRT station called Shaw… [cont.]

A. Your hotel is just at the corner of EDSA and Ayala Ave. in Makati. Whatever bus you take, before getting a seat, ask the driver or conductor whether they can drop you at Ayala. If so, you can just walk to your hotel. At the hotel you can inquire (or use the hotel's traveler's brochure) how to get around...Megamall, SM, Cubao, etc.). There is SM mall at the back of your hotel or go to other places using MRT, your preference. On your return flight, in order to avoid rush, you can leave the hotel for Clark by around 11 am. That would give you some respite in case there is a traffic jam along the way particularly in the major choke points in EDSA. Pack your things early and you can still walk around in Makati before taking your bus back… [cont.]

ROOMS along Roxas Boulevard overlooking the Sea?
Q. Kumusta, Hello, Bonjour to everyone. I am planning a long stay in Manila, in fact in several places around the Philippines. I am looking for a room, preferably not more than USD55 per night for a long stay of around 14 nights or more. I need the hotel to have a very good broadband connection in the room and situated near/along along Roxas Boulevard ( towards Pasay or towards Intramurous is fine) as well as the rooms facing the sea :) It is better if they have good connection with private transports and rugged/adventurous traveling . Thanks , Salamat,Merci Beaucoup.
