Why does this newspaper -Philippine Daily Inquirer always carry corrections and erratum every issue?
Q. Don't they check their facts first before a news be published?
Asked by vibal - Fri Nov 17 00:33:09 2006 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I've read that they've established the Corrections and Erratum box (in either page 4 or 6) as a permanent staple on their newspaper. This is to allow readers/writers to be able to tell the newspaper whichever corrections they need done. It would be worse to not have a permanent corrections box because that means that you're not sure if your concern will be published Posting corrections on a newspaper, in a temporary space, is a hassle because you have to rearrange the layout. A misspelled name or mixed up facts might not be known if there won't be a permanent space in which to put it in. You could make a mistake in a test or be embarrassed in public if you don't get it straight right? Personally, I commend the Philippine Daily Inquirer… [cont.]
