How long after the first interview does walmart call you for a second interview?
Q. I had an interview with Walmart about 4 weeks ago for a part-time cashier and they have not contacted me yet. At this interview all I had to do was sign some papers with the manager who said that usually there is more than one interview done. The interview went great and I only had to answer a few questions like the hours that I am available to work. If you are a previous or current employee of Walmart please tell me how many interviews you had and how long it took to get the second one. I heard that it might take a while but I didn't think it would be this long. Should I keep calling Walmart to ask them?**I really really want this job.

How long does an interview usually last for?
Q. I'm going to an interview tomorrow and the woman that called me to schedule an interview told me that it would take about an hour for the interview. Does it usually last that long? I'm applying for an accounting position. Has anyone else been to an interview for an accounting position?? If so, how was it like? Thank you!
Asked by NT - Tue Jun 12 22:14:42 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. It may take that long. I went on an interview for a position in human resources once, and I met about 6 different people and was there for 3-4 hours...after 2.5 hrs I decided I didn't want the job, which turned out best - 6 months later they had a large layoff... It depends on the company and their interview parameters, how detailed they want to get and how many if any other people are involved. If you may have to meet with the Controller or A/P Manager per say, their schedules may only allow a few minutes here or there. Just depends, but if your contact said plan on at least an hour. That will give them time to feel you out to see if you're a good fit for the group you'll be working with and for. Good Luck!

What type of job interview questions will I be asked when interviewing for a county position?
Q. I am wondering how this interview may differ from a classic interview with other companies since it is for the County.
Asked by Rachaelatwork - Mon May 21 12:26:15 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. My experience is that they are going to read from a list and possibly write down your answers. You also may have more than one person interviewing you at a time (my first "board" interview was for a City position.) The questions were mostly what you would expect - nothing especially strange. (You might check out the big job boards, they have good sample questions for you to practice.) Best of luck!

How to ace a Futureshop phone interview and face to face interview?
Q. An employer called me to see if I would be available to be interviewed but I said no at the time. I called again this morning and she told me to get my schedule fixed and tell her when I would be available. Now, either I get the second interview or not, I would like to know how I should dress for a Futureshop employer interview. Do I have to be conservative?
Asked by Clarence - Wed Nov 4 13:54:39 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You always dress professional for ANY kind of interview. Heck, I interviewed for a Storage Unit and I had a shirt and tie on. You can never over-dress for an interview!! But you sure as heck can under-dress, and it will reflect negatively upon you. Make a good first impression, and good luck!!

What are some good interview questions for a bank manager for a research paper on management?
Q. I have a research paper to write and need to interview a bank manager (in four different interviews) about the four functions of management: planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. For the first interview I will be asking questions about planning. The paper has to be a little lengthy, so I want to ask the very best questions without taking up too much of the persons time. Any suggestions?

What to expect from a second interview over the phone?
Q. My first interview was in person, now I am having a second interview from another person over the phone. What do you think? I have never had a second interview, or one over the phone. Do second interviews, especially one over the phone halfway guarantee you might get a job offer?
Asked by Ginger D - Thu Jun 21 22:55:53 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. It likely means that you are in the running but another person, maybe a higher up manager, wants to check you out before an offer is made. It likely won't be as long as the inperson interview. You are fortunate in that you can have some materials with you that they won't be able to see. You should go through the things that you think they will want you to know or be able to do and have examples of when you have done those things ready. You haven't said what type of job it is.

What should I wear to an interview for a waitressing position?
Q. What should I wear to an interview for a waitressing position? I have an interview in a few days to waitress at a restaurant (Iron Hill Brewery). It is a pretty casual restaurant; entrees are priced from about $15-20. Waitstaff attire is a black shirt, black dress pants and black shoes. Not sure what to wear to the interview, though. Any suggestions?
Asked by colormecolorado - Sun May 6 22:03:07 2007 - - 10 Answers - 0 Comments

A. No need to be fancy, but appear that you are seriou sabout the position. Any type of dress pants will do with a matching blouse or nice sweater and something other then tennis shoes. I think that the more you put forward in your presentation of yourself will never work against you in a job interview (unless you go way over the top). Most importantly, feel comfortable on what you are wearing. A good rule of thumb is to dress a step above your uniform (not true of all situations, but will apply in many cases).

What should we expect during an interview with a professional modeling agency?
Q. My sister is trying to get into the professional modeling world, she's got the looks and the height, and she has scored an interview with one of the best modeling agencies in the nation. The problem is, she has minimal experience, I'm hoping she has a portfolio. The question is, what should she expect during the interview? Will she need to walk for the interviewer? Does she need a portfolio or just headshots with her measurements? What kind of questions will she be asked? Any and all info will be appreciated as her interview is tomorrow!! Thanks!

A. she will need a portfolio and measurements head shots are for acting so i doubt shed need that she might be asked to walk, most likely actually just tell her to always keep good posture and sit up straight and when shes asked to walk pose walk and pose at the end turn and walk back always look at something and dont have her eyes wondering around like keep your eye on a picture in the room they might also say "pretend im a photographer and your going to shot for some modeling thing like.. christmas.. every 3 seconds im going to snap and thats what your pose should look like" but always smile and shake their hand once you walk in and say nice to meet you and when you leave shake their hand and say nice meeting you. answer their questions… [cont.]

How do you schedule a job interview during the week when you already have a job during business hours?
Q. They say it's best to look for a job while you're still employed. Well most employers only interview during business hours so how are you supposed to get time off in the middle of the week, in the middle of the day to go to a job interview? And what if you have multiple interviews during the week? What are you supposed to tell your employer and/or future employer about scheduling?

How long does it take to get a second interview and the steps in the hiring process?

I called a week ago to find out if the position is filled and I was told no and that I'm still a top candidate and that the guy who will be interviewing me was doing paper work. So I thanked her and hung up. I have no intentions on calling back a second time, just so that I won't present myself as a pest, but I do want this job. Asked by Angela - Thu Nov 16 22:27:17 2006 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Sounds like you're doing everything right. Sometimes it'll be a couple weeks for an interview, especially if they're not in a rush to fill the position, or they're hiring you for an upcoming project, or maybe someone you need to meet is out of town for the holidays. I've applied for jobs and not got called for the interview until a month later. Usually the offer will be within a few days of the final interview (it's a good idea to call of email a couple days after to thank them for meeting you, regardless). It can never hurt to keep looking for jobs, though, until you get an offer.

What to ask the employer during your interview?
Q. When you are being interviewed by a potential employer and they ask if you have any questions, what are some good things to ask them? What should you avoid asking? Is it good to ask about opportunity for advancement, and/or getting raises, and/or benefits, and/or overtime? Any more interview do's and don'ts?? Its for my husband who is interviewing this afternoon to be the manager of the tech department of a local office store. Real answers only please; thanks! Wow those were all really good answers! What is a second interview and what is the purpose, How do I prepare for it?
Q. I never had to do a second interview. What do they usually cover on the 2nd interview that they didn't cover on the first?
Asked by Amanda K - Mon Apr 21 16:20:43 2008 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments

A. In some cases, a first interview is the screening interview prior to going to the next step. Usually the best of the first round goes to the second interview. Most second interviews are with the person you'll be directly reporting to or someone higher in management. You may be asked the same questions and/or some different. Don't assume that if you asked the same questions that they know how you responded during the first interview. Review the job description for the position you are interviewing for . . . did the first interview cover why you should be offered the position based on what you shared? If you haven't already done so, critique yourself from the first interview. What did you do well? What were opportunities? Think… [cont.]

What kind of questions do employers ask at a second interview?
Q. Ok, so I managed to pull through a 1st interview with a pretty large well-known company. They told me that they would contact me with a decision within the next week. That was a month ago. A few days ago they called me in for a 2nd interview. What will this interview be about anyone? Has anyone been through more than two interviews? What kind of questions will they ask? update: I got the job!!! :D Thanks for all of your suggestions and advice!
Asked by devisional@sbcglobal.net - Mon Apr 23 19:55:38 2007 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments

A. It depends on who is doing the second interview. If, for example, the Human Resources group conducted the first interview, then maybe your potential supervisor will do the second interview. If that's the case, he/she would check on your competence or technical skills for the job and your behavior / attitude. If your second interview will be done by a higher ranked manager, he or she would check on your behavior and fit into the company culture. It is a good idea therefore to inquire who you will meet for the second interview so that you can prepare appropriately.

How do I obtain press credentials / ability to interview musicians and publish the interviews?
Q. I'm puting together a website with a friend, and we want to interview bands / bandmembers as they pass through town. Also we would like to request phone interviews through whomever is representing them, and publish them on the site. These are NOT huge names, or people you would hear on the radio. More cult following type musicians from the industrial genre. What kind of certifications, licenses, or anything do we need to acquire to be able to do that?
Asked by marbogvht - Sun Mar 16 20:42:06 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I'm a journalist major in Chicago- this stuff is hard work but definitely worth it. You don't need any particular licenses or anything. You just need to get in contact with the band- go to their website or whatever and see if they have a manager or someone you can call. Some smaller bands will list phone numbers for booking purposes too, so you could try that number. Most small bands would love the publicity and will probably be pretty open. You then just need to set up interviews with the band and be up front that you are considering publishing the answers to your questions.
