How legitimate is it to denounce Islam with the following argument?
Q. "Islam came after Christianity - Christianity is hundreds of years older than Islam - and is similar to Christianity in many, many ways. Hence The Koran is just a spurious carbon-copy of The Bible, with "Jesus Christ" scratched out everywhere it appears and "Mohammed" scribbled in. Anyone who can denounce Christianity and espouse Islam with a straight face is obviously unsound." I have *many* friends who make this very argument, and I'd like to know how sound it is. Thanks.

A. 1. The day-to-day life of the Prophet was an open book for all to see. In fact a revelation came asking people to give the Prophet (pbuh) privacy in his own home. If the Prophet had been meeting people who told him what to say as a revelation from God, this would not have been hidden for very long. 2. The extremely prominent Quraish nobles who followed the Prophet and accepted Islam were wise and intelligent men who would have easily noticed anything suspicious about the way in which the Prophet brought the revelations to them - more so since the Prophetic mission lasted 23 years. 3. The enemies of the Prophet kept a close watch on him in order to find proof for their claim that he was a liar - they could not point out even a… [cont.]

How are Islam,Judaism, and Christianity similar in the way they represent God?
Q. How does the three Western religions, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, portray God? Compare how the three Western religions, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, portray God and the relationship between God and humanity. What passages from religious scriptures we support these ideas. What do these scriptures say about the nature of this relationship? How are these same themes portrayed in Roman and Greek literature, such as the Aeneid or the Iliad? What are the main differences and similarities between images of God as they are portrayed in Greek and Roman literature and those images of God portrayed in the Bible and the Qur'an?

Did those stereotypes and tainted words about islam really work?
Q. Rationally speaking, What did the islamophobics achieve by all the media stereotypes to taint muslims and their religion? Did they really achieve anything out of it? The truth speaks for itself and the statistics say that more people are actually converting to islam. There are smart people who believe in themselves, not in what others judge.

A. Politics and Popular Opinion is a powerful tool. Even if we decide, decades down the line, that Islam is a religion of peace (which I believe it is), Islamophobes have done the damage and planted seeds of hatred and intolerance for generations to come. From now on there will always be a fringe group or two that hates Muslims, like the Orange Order against Catholics.

"O you who believe! Shun much suspicion; for lo! some suspicion is a sin." "O you who believe! stand out firmly for Allah, as witnesses to fair dealing, and let not the hatred of any people make you swerve to wrong and depart from justice. A. While Islam in general is misunderstood in the western world, perhaps no other Islamic term evokes such strong reactions as the word Jihad. The word Jihad is mistranslated as Holy War . The Arabic equivalent of Holy War is harb-u-muqadasah. This term is not found in any verse of the Qur'an. There is nothing in the Islamic sources that permit a Muslim to fight against non-Muslims solely on the basis that they are not Muslim. The word Jihad comes from the root word jahada, which means to struggle. At the individual level, jihad primarily refers to the inner struggle of being a person of virtue and submission to God in all aspects of life. How do followers of Islam show thier love and obedience for Allah ?
Q. I'm doing a research paper for a communications class and we are supposed to do research on communication in various cultures. I chose to do research on how the followers of Islam communicate to Allah their obedience and love. I figured I would talk about rituals and the various ways they act to show their love and obedience. Any suggestions on what that might be ? Links to sites would be preferable, thanks :)

Q. A little remind : They cut the clitoris of the all islamist women when they reach the age of 10 years old (most of the times the little girl die in pain, because this sergury is done in non steril area). And all this to prevent from this woman to reach orgazms because the women in the ISLAM is not aloud to have orgazms when she is having sex with her husband that will always rape her she is here only for one reason - to bring children.

A. Genital cutting is not a tenet of Islam. In fact, it is directly against the Koran. It has nothing to do with religion. There are cultures that do this, mainly tribal ones, as a cultural ritual. The theory is that a woman who cannot enjoy sex will not stray from her husband, and he can be assured that his children are his. But it's starting to be outlawed, which is great.

Islamization occurs when there are sufficient Muslims in a country to agitate for their so-called 'religious rights.' When politically correct and culturally diverse societies agree to 'the reasonable' Muslim demands for their 'religious rights,' they also get the other components under the table. Here's how it works (percentages source CIA: The World Fact Book (2007)). As long as the Muslim population remains around 1% of any given country they will be regarded as a peace-loving minority and not as a threat to anyone. A. I suppose it will be islam because islam is truley monotheisitc. I mean christianity claims to be believers of only one god but then they take up idols and images and worship them. I mean they create plastic figures that they call jesus and they create glass images of mary and worship them. I'm not sure there is a future in worshiping idols and pictures such as the figures they have in church, I mean come on, Christians basically worship the cross which is only an image, they worship plastic figures and some claim bread and wine are the body and blood of jesus. I don't know but I just don't think idolism and image worship will last long.

A. They both share the same god, the god of Abraham. Think of it like the protestant churches splitting from the Catholic church and now we have lot's of Christian churches. Well in the same way Christianity and Islam split from the Jewish religion following different prophets. Christianity had Jesus and Islam had Mohammad. The two are very different religions and even dislike each other very much even though they share the same god.
