A. You had better get insurance! Check with agents offering auto insurance to see if they can provide coverage. If not, seek out a commercial insurer. I believe that the LTFRB will require proof of insurance prior to registration. Good luck!

A. depends on where you are comming from pasig and where in pasay are you going. the common route takes is from pasig public market to edsa shaw (jeepeny fare is 11 pesos, fx is 18 pesos) from shaw you can take the mrt or bus to edsa-lrt (pasay-taft ave.) going to mall of asia (mrt costs 13 pesos and the bus is about 15 pesos) from edsa-lrt (pasay-taft ave.) you can take the mini-jeep at the foot of the stairs of the lrt going to mall of asia (about 10 pesos) all in all it would take you less than a hundred pesos whichever mode of transpo you wish to take.

Q. smaller firms? considering that the executive is a college garduate.one bus driver interviewed on TV said he makes more than 1,000 pesos a day. i also overheard a jeepney driver saying that he has already made 700 pesos excluding the 'boundary' or daily rental and his working hours for the day is not yet over, several trips more. i also wonder why the drivers' lives seem more miserable than the executives despite their bigger income which is tax-free.

Your college degree is no assurance for a better life, better future due to government's inaction in the first place, present or past admins. unfortunate to say that most kids are not eager to finish their studies because finding a job is very competitive and will earn you minimum at 380? pesos -tax still to be deducted. or contractual which is even lower than minimum. being a jeep or bus driver, their lives seem miserable because they spend their earnings on drinks, women, gambling, etc. instead on their own family. and sad thing is people tend to look down on them because of the general impression of the society. but the bottom line is they still make more money than most of us.

A. I think its not only in the Philippines where offensive driving is an issue, its just a matter of discipline. If your a foreigner its understandable that you get easily offended by that, traffic rules are not strictly implemented all the time (most of the time these drivers get away with traffic rules). Also, driving a passenger jeepney is not easy, they pay "boundaries" to the jeepney operators(those who own the vehicle) and get only a small percentage (perhaps equivalent to minumum salary or even lesser depending on how many passengers they got for the day), and pay for the gasoline, so there is always competition to be fast and to get more passengers.

A. Go all the way to QCC..Quezon City Circle..stay on jeep until it goes round to Commonwealth Ave...if it's going to Commonwealth stay on. Depends on what jeep..but you might have to change jeep there on Circle...no problem it's a terminal. At the very beginning of Commonwealth , get a jeep to UP/Dilliman..in fact you might already get this jeepney earlier..it's going to drop you outside the campus. What I mean is..if you were coming from Quiapo or Mabuhay, you might get the UP Jeep from there. Why MRT3..where are you coming from? If it's from Cubao..C5 bus..getting off at SM North..Fx from there or Trinoma might be easier. EDIT: Get to Taft Ave from Baclaran..maybe taxi is easier. A. Take a jeepney or bus going from Quiapo to Cubao. This will take the route Quezon Blvd - Lerma - Espana Blvd - E. Rodriguez route to Quezon City. Monte de Piedad is the street before E. Rodriguez merges into Aurora Blvd. The iintersecton before Monte de Piedad is New York st. about 200-300 meters away. I don't know where #41 is located. You will have to figure this out yourself.

The "barkers" call out where the jeep is heading in a pila--the driver is in line and pays someone who's in charge--so the jeep has to be filled to the max for the driver to recoup what he paid for. A. from baclaran, there are many option. 1) ride jeepney bound to Sta. Cruz, Binondo or Quiapo via Taft Avenue. Get down at P. Ocampo St., ( better known as Vito Cruz). There are orange jeep park in front of Rizal Stadium. Ride that jeep and this will bring you to CCP complex where the Star City is located. 2) ride jeeps bound to Sta. A. I don't work in the LTO, but have owned a jeepney for the past 4 years. I am assuming you know that you first have to have the engine and chasis restencilled P 400. Plus have it pass the "smoke check" P300. Plus have insurance papers. You also need a current BIR reciept showing your tax is current and the newest fare matrix. Get through all that and if it's not overdue is runs about P 2,800 if it's a commercial jeepney. So all said and done , excluding any mechanical repairs you need to pass the smoke check P5,000 is about right. Good luck with the jeepney businees . I did it 2 years before I threw in the towell because it's a barely break evan business. Sold the Francise , but kept my Jeepney. Now you know how I picked my screename.

A. Fort del Pilar is at the Philippine Military Academy in Baguio. Pacdal Circle is near where the horseriding is. The jeepneys from Pacdal do not go to PMA. To go to PMA (Fort del Pilar) on public transportation, you take jeepneys from the City proper, with a terminal near Burnham Park. Look for jeepneys with the sign "PMA". If you want to go there from Pacdal, you must either hire the jeepney to take you to PMA, or take a taxi.
