Jesus of Nazareth (c 4 BC/BCEc 30 AD/CE), also known as Jesus Christ or occasionally Jesus the Christ, is the central figure of Christianity, and within most Christian denominations he is venerated as the Son of God and as God incarnate. His lineage according to the Gospel of Matthew is of the Tribe of Judah in the nation of Israel and includes King David. His Hebrew-Aramaic name, Yeshua, means 'Yahweh saves,' and Christians view him as the Messiah foretold in the Old Testament. However, Judaism rejects these claims. Islam considers Jesus a prophet and also the Messiah, while several other religions revere him in some way.

The principal sources of information regarding Jesus' life and teachings are the four canonical gospels, especially the Synoptic Gospels, though some scholars argue that other texts (such as the Gospel of Thomas) are as relevant as the canonical gospels to the historical Jesus. Most critical scholars in the fields of history and biblical studies believe that some parts of the New Testament are useful for reconstructing Jesus' life, agreeing that he was a Jew who was regarded as a teacher and healer. They also generally accept that he was baptized by John the Baptist, and was crucified in Jerusalem on the orders of the Roman Prefect of Judaea, Pontius Pilate, on the charge of sedition against the Roman Empire. Aside from these few conclusions, academic studies remain inconclusive about the chronology, the central message of Jesus' preaching, his social class, cultural environment, and religious orientation. Scholars offer competing descriptions of Jesus as the awaited Messiah, as a self-described Messiah, as the leader of an apocalyptic movement, as an itinerant sage, as a charismatic healer, and as the founder of an independent religious movement.

Christian views of Jesus (see also Christology) center on the belief that Jesus is divine, is the Messiah whose coming was prophesied in the Old Testament, and that he was resurrected after his crucifixion. Christians predominantly believe that Jesus is the "Son of God" (generally meaning that he is God the Son, the second person in the Trinity), who came to provide salvation and reconciliation with God by his death for their sins. Other Christian beliefs include Jesus' virgin birth, performance of miracles, ascension into Heaven, and a future Second Coming. While the doctrine of the Trinity is widely accepted by most Christians, a few groups reject as non-scriptural, wholly or partly, the doctrine of the Trinity.

In Islam, Jesus (Arabic: عيسى‎, commonly transliterated as Isa) is considered one of God's important prophets, a bringer of scripture, and a worker of miracles. Jesus is also called "Messiah", but Islam does not teach that he was divine. Islam teaches that Jesus ascended bodily to heaven without experiencing the crucifixion and resurrection, rather than the traditional Christian belief of the death and resurrection of Jesus.

A. always and in God hopefully in truth.I have noticed though that even groups like ebible when you ask questions that if it is not within thier 100% beleif they will not answer you or kick you out of groups. We all need to be careful and not act because we may have certain truths that we don't fall into traps like the pharasees. They knew the law and the Bible and yet christ rebuked them . I will give an example, at the ebible conference last week end online I asked a question about the 5 months after may 21 2011. I said I believe the 5 months but I am not sure if the believers are in the 5 months or not.I know what the camping veiw is but that doesn't matter. I want what we can know and it should of been addressed. But ebible only took one… [cont.]

When sports athletes says I want to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, do they actually mean it?
Q. Do they actually believe that Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior? Why do they say it, when they get interviewed and they won something in sports? Is Jesus Christ the world's Lord and Savior? What do you think about them saying that? Does it make you happy when they say that?

A. They say it because they believe that they have the ability to do what they do because of their belief in Jesus their Lord and Savior. I think when it is said it is because He is your Savior and you truly do believe in Him. Yes it makes me happy when I hear someone thank the Lord. I think Amen, God has blessed you and you see that your gift comes from Him and without Him in your life you know that you would be nothing.
