A. I don't think you can. When I was in that program I just did the questions, you will get them done 10 times faster if you do the questions now.your just wasting your time asking this question and waiting for an answer.

A. No. Why would they assign it if you could just look up the answers and cheat? Their job is to cause you to learn, not to encourage you to cheat some more.

A. Don't be scared. GO an ask them and they would try to help you If you are really scared, ask your parents to help you. Continue practising your maths/english with some work from internet for your level in Kumon

A. i joined kumon in second grade and im the smartest one in my class it is boirng sometimes but it really helps a lot im the smartest of all my friends u can get 2 or 1 worksheets a day. i still go and if u r 14 up and u get better the teacher will give u a job too im 18 now my sis is 11 and she does 12th grade math. they give u homework everyday even in the summer andon weekends but it keeps you working and the have a reputition wich helps you more im sure it helps

A. I did both. In Kumon they gave you a book and help IF you needed it and IF you could get it. Basically it was exactly like school where you finish the book and move on to the next one. I didn't like it. In Sylvan they helped YOU! First you take an assessment test to find out your levels in different areas of school. You would then go to a teacher who would either help you with homework or let you work on Sylvan's materials. It was up to you. The teachers there were actually certified teachers, unlike Kumon, and had tons of experiance teaching all different kids at all different levels. A. Hold on... Achievement test for what level? A,B,C,D,E or what? If you are talking about the placement test, you will just see a bunch of questions listed (by grade level) and how much of them you get right and get wrong will determine what level you start in. the reading section questions are also listed by difficulty and grade level.

Kumon and other subjects - She's resisting and panicking?
Q. My young sister has been doing Kumon for about 6 months. Despite being intermediate level in school, she's struggling terribly on level 1. For a start, every time shes made to do Kumon, she puts up an almighty fight. Every day. And when she does it, she starts to panic and get answers to simple questions wrong. Recently, she scored a test full of Bs and a D after 17 minutes. It's more than frustrating, because she used to be capable of scoring 11 - 13 minutes with only A. How to you get a child to understand the positives of Kumon, to stop her resisting every time and panicking during the test? We've tried the sanction method - but even this doesn't work. Is it some sort of psychology!? Please help.

A. Well im not sure if this helps but every kid HATES Kumon. I did it for about 1 year and my parents pulled me out because i started to get really frustrated and one time i got so frustrated i punched my wall and i had to go to the hospital because i broke my index and middle finger also i had a brake down doing it =S. What im trying to say is she does understand the possessives but she doesn't like doing it and thinks that it isn't necessary, if its work, she wont don't want to do it. I think that maybe you could reward her if she gets under 15 minutes and an A grade or 100 with a treat of some kind and also show LOTS of praise when she does very well (100). What is Kumon math equivalent to what university year?
Q. I'm wondering what is Kumon Math equivalent to university math in Toronto. On the last level of Kumon (O), we are studying advanced integration (integration by parts substitution, quadrature, etc), application of integrals (area, volume, length of curve, etc), and differential equations. What year do you learn this in university? BTW, calculus is HARD! I've been doing Kumon for a year (since grade 8) and it is hard. I want to quit, but I'm close to finishing. Should I finish it? It's pointless, I won't even need this if I don't take a lot of math in university. Thanks for all your answers.

A. That would all be learned in an intro to calculus course in Year 1. If you are taking Engineering or Physics, you will be learning about vectors and the third or forth dimensions which is alot harder than what you learn in Kumon. I would give up if I were you, you all everything you learn in Kumon in 1 year of university.

Q. What's the exact procedure when you go inside? -Turn in take home worksheets that are already graded by parent answer book to the instructor to keep and record. -The instructor gives you more worksheets to do. -You time your work? & then turn in for the instructor to grade -You sit back down, and then the instructor comes over to you to fix the mistakes. -You fix it and then go back up and turn it in, they come back and then what?? Also, what's this whole clocking in thing? And when do you know to leave? Does it matter which instructor to go to? Does anyone go to one in Houston? Please correct me if i'm wrong!! A. I know the process for math, not sure about reading... The homework that you get, I believe that you have to correct all your mistakes and turn it in until you correct all your mistakes. You have to time your work because they look at that, and your level, and see whether or not you're actually learning. So if you take an hour doing let's say division problems, then you'd probably have to go back down a level in order for you to be able to do well. This boy once was in the G level and he was pushed back to C because he took literally forever to finish his final test to get to the next level. you leave when you are finished with all your work.
