A. Call the abuse center. Tell them you don't want to do kumon cause its driving them crazy. OR just trying learning the stuff and TRY to get all A's. Your parents expectations are way too high.

what is on the level I test for KUMON?
Q. Specific things like is it going to be hard? Or What kinds of things are going to be on it?
Asked by Brendan P - Mon Jun 9 23:52:34 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I have no idea what the other person is talking about. I am a current Kumon assistant so I could better answer your question. However, do you mean Level I or Level L? It is depends for what subject - math or reading? In all, basically the questions come directly from the packets. If you do the worksheets correctly (without cheating), you should do very well on the test. I would not worry about it too much. If you do poorly, a good instructor will only give you review on what you need help on.

I'm entering 9th grade and just joined Kumon. I feel like an idiot, I'm in level F. Is the program beneficial?
Q. Hi, I just joined Kumon like two weeks ago and I'm in level F, the equivalent of a 6th grade math education. I was wondering if the program really works for people of my age as I heard from some people that it is only truly beneficial from middle schoolers or younger. I was wondering how many levels can you usually pass through in a year? I'm taking Geometry this year so I hope that by the end of this year, I can be ahead of grade level and maybe even start to learn pre-cal in a year or two, is it plausible? Also, if you take or have taken Kumon, is it really beneficial even if a person such as I started kind of late such as during high school and not earlier? Thanks for the help!

A. i'm currently enrolled in Kumon and have been enrolled for the past 7 years. im going to be a junoir in the fall and am on level L. i believe it is beneficial in many ways. even though you are new to the program, i am sure your instructor may advance you quickly if you have the knowledge. even though you are in level F, is it not bad to continue. in the future, it will help you greatly and the material goes very high, up to statistics i believe. there is some downfall to starting late, but at the end, you'll be thankful.

Level I Kumon Test Preparation.?
Q. Ok. I have my level I test for Kumon coming up real fast. I need reinforcement and I'm feeling weird. I am very bad at this. Can someone please give me some sample problems that's related to what I'm learning in Lv I. A website that has a quiz on it is fine too.
Asked by ~DaBest!~ - Wed Apr 22 19:29:29 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The best thing to do is to request review from your instructor. Any good instructor will want you to be prepared for your test and will not have any problems working with you to get you what you need. The good thing about the tests is that the problems on the actual test are puled directly from the worksheet. This means that every problem on the test you have done before and it is exactly the same. If you are not comfortable with how things are, then you are not ready to take the test. Postponing the test is not a bad thing if you want to prepare yourself better for it.

A. I just took the test a while ago, and it's basically multiplying, dividing, adding, and subtracting fractions. It also has questions on finding the value of x. There's also a few questions on evaluating expressions like (example) a=5 and b = 3. I hope that helped :]

How fast can you go in Kumon?
Q. I'm told that Kumon is a self directed program for math fluency. I have a 10 year old who can do the math accurately, but I can't seem to get him fast. How long does the program take to help in speed? I'm just told kids have to do these little packets. If they complete them within in a few days, do they move on? Can anyone give an example of each level's questions?
Asked by Ransomed - Fri Mar 27 06:16:14 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Well, there is a certain time limit for the levels. The levels go for A to N. They give you a 10 page packet(for level A and B) and a 5 page packet(for level C, D, E, and so on). You are supposed to do 1 packet per day, or unless in level B, they give you 2 packets per each day in the weekend. I got in speed really quickly. I have passed 4 levels in the past 4-5 months. The time limit for the packets vary. it is usually 20-30 minutes per packet. It'll probably take about 2 months for him to get fast. They give you 30-50 packets per level.

A. Well, I don't have any worksheets so sorry. But basically the Kumon Method is learning through repitition. Not to the point where you memorize it, but where you know what you're doing. At lower levels, 1+1 and 2x3 are to sharpen your skills so that you're insanely fast when it comes to those. And higher levels where they start to teach you hard stuff is where the method kicks in. Basically, to learn it, they'll give you an example. you follow the example step by step You fail the worksheet, they make you repeat it. Instructor teaches you how to do it. No better way to learn than through your own mistakes. Take worksheet again. Fail again. This time instructor helps you hammer in fine points. Take worksheet again. Pass. Make you repeat.… [cont.]

How long should it take to do my Kumon?
Q. I've been enrolled in Kumon for nearly 2 years. Sometimes it takes me 10 minutes to do it. Others, sometimes an hour to do...help? What is a good time to start and finish kumon? Also, how can I convince my mom to let me quit after I complete level "J"?
Asked by Andrew F - Fri Nov 6 21:22:05 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Well U should of started when you were a kid like in gr 3> and start AFTER!!! your school work, that way you dont fall behind in school, remember your in kumon to do better in school. Depending on the level your on and how much worksheets you do in a day =how much time needed to do the work. Tell your mom that Kumon takes too much time when in lvl J and that you dont have enough time to do your school work, there's no point in being in kumon but not having any time to do the work they give you.

A. Kumon s founder was a math teacher, and the original study plan he developed was in mathematics. While that program has evolved considerably, Kumon Math remains our most widely attended and recognized program. Kumon Math is a comprehensive program that develops the necessary skills to help a child progress from counting to calculus. Often children have trouble simplifying fractional expressions in algebra because they have not mastered basic calculations. The Kumon Method develops proficiency at every level, so Kumon students build the solid foundation they need to advance more successfully and confidently through their school s math curriculum. The ease with which Kumon students routinely learn to perform basic operations and solve… [cont.]

To those who had used Kumon or Enopi?
Q. How was it and what did you learn from it? Did you find it helpful? How's the fun level? I am currently looking into these for my kids. Thanks.

A. I remember doing it when I was quite young. I had a board with numbers, and I would put them in order and patterns, etc. I think it actually helped with my Algebra skills and number patterns. It's not very helpful for later on in math: Geometry, Algebra II, Trig... I don't think I liked it much. The teachers scared me a tad bit, and it was hard for me to understand them. How old are your kids? You should tell them about it and ask for their opinions.
