What are some effective teaching practices for diverse learners and define how the strategy can be applied?
Q. What are some effective teaching practices for an English Language learner and a gifted and student learner. Define how the strategy maybe appliedto both types of learners. Can this single strategy be effective for all learners? Why or Why not?

A. There are numerous ways in which you can diversify your instruction in ways that will cater to both the ESL learner and a TAG learner. The traditional method of instruction is basical oral lecture from the instructor while students passively take notes based on the lecture. Some different ways: Teach a rhyme, song, or limmerick to help students remember a particular tricky grammar rule or a set of related ideas (e.g., "i before e except after c..." or the "Fifty Nifty United states" song written by Ray Charles). You can use content from a variety of levels so it applies to both TAG and ESL. Teach a different way of taking notes. Show your students how to lay out guided notes (make a chart with columns for idea titles, comments,… [cont.]

Are learners permits drivers limited to the state where they obtain it?
Q. I live in Ohio, and I got my learners permit renewed abut 3 months ago. My father is planning a trip to chicago and he wants me to do some "Cross Country" Interstate Driving. I looked in laws regarding learners permits (4507.05) and I didn't spot anything regarding if there's any restrictions on traveling out of state with a learners permit. Does anyone know of any and if anyone does know of any restrictions, could to find the law to it so I can verify it?
Asked by Rynux5 - Wed Mar 26 23:26:38 2008 - - 11 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You seem to be getting conflicting answers. The correct answer is that it depends on the state you're driving IN. Wherever you are in the country, you are subject to the laws of the state you're in, not the state you're from. Some states honor out-of-state permits, others don't. Of those that do, some will impose their own conditions on hours, passengers, etc., while others will let you drive as long as you meet the conditions set by the state that issued the permit. See for a state-by-state description. I can't guarantee that this is accurate but it's a good starting point.

Q. My learners permit is going to expire next month (it hasn't expired already). Do i have to let it expire and take the test over or is it possible to just have them renew it? I am in driving school now and it would suck to wait the 6 months and take that learners test over.

How to memorize whats important for my learners permit?
Q. In about 1 month I am going to be taking my learners permit test. I want to know how to memorize whats import so that I can pass this time.
Asked by I_love_books - Sun Nov 23 23:42:21 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The learners permit book isn't that big or in depth. Every couple of days read through it, and ask a family member to quiz you. I'm sure one of your friends have been in the same situation, so ask one of them to quiz you, and give you a few pointers about the test. Honestly, the test isn't that hard! Good luck

Q. I was planning to get my learners before my 15th birthday so then when I turn 16 i could get my actual license. But my friend said you need to have your learners for 2 years. So how long do you actually need it?

A. The Alberta Traffic Safety Act requires individuals to carry a Class 7 (Learners) for no less than ONE year prior to applying for and obtaining a Class 5 Operator's Licence. Once ONE year has elapsed, you are free to take the written exam and road test, and upon successful completion of this your licence will be upgraded to an Class 5GDL (Graduated Drivers Licence)

A. Once you are issued your Level I Permit, you must hold it for a minimum of 6 months, have completed the required 30 hours of practice driving & have the certification form filled out & signed by a parent or legal guardian or have the card that was issued to you upon completion of Driver's Ed before you will be eligible to take the skills test to get your Level II Intermediate License.
