What does in mean when my brake light stays on even though the parking brake is off?
Q. I'm driving an 07 Nissan Sentra that has pretty much been a disaster since i bought it. First the Power steering went, then the ignition went. The car has 4000 miles on it!!! Now the brake light stays on eventhough the parking brake is off. The light does go off when I hit the regular brakes, but comes bake on when I hit the gas. Why Does my computer seem to shut down but the power light stays on?
Q. When I go to run a program such as roxio or something similar to that on my Compaq Presario Windows XP computer, my computer just all of a sudden shuts down, but the power light stays on. No fans inside the tower continue to run or nothing. It seems like its shut down all the way but The power light stays on. Do you think I need to buy a new power supply, or could it be my ram is messed up?

A. You could also try using a can of air and blow out all the dust,etc from inside your computer case. You could also turn off the system, hold the power button in to get rid of any left over charge or power and then unplug the cable sand wires one at a time and plug them back in one at a time. How do I bleed the oil line on my 1984 Honda Scooter? I let the oil run out and now the oil light stays on.?

A. The fact that you ran out of oil "could" cause air in the line. But air in the line would have no effect on the oil light. The oil level sensor might be stuck. Try removing it from the oil tank and move the sensor up to see if that turns off the light. Just pull the sensor out of the tank. Be carefull not to damage the tank. To bleed the oil line, follow the oil line from the pump to the intake. The oil pump is in front of the cyl. The intake is to the left of the cyl. While the engine is at idle, pull the line off the intake. Hold the line right up to the intake and move it away for a second. Keep doing this, move the line off on off on off on until you see straight oil/no air and reconnect the line.

A. If your computer is plugged into a power strip, make sure the strip is turned off. Your computers power supply may still be getting some power from it even though its turned off. If that doesn't work, there should be a power switch located in the rear of the computer (I / O), try setting that so its on O (off mode).

A. One of the brake light switches is stuck on. Most likely the rear. At the back of the rear brake pedal is a long spring. The spring attaches to the brake light switch. Either the switch needs to be adjusted - turn the big plastic nut to adjust. OR the rod that gets pulled out of the switch is not retracting (bent). Locate the wires of the switch and unplug them - with the key on, the brake light should go off. Otherwise the front brake light switch may be at fault - you have to remove the headlight to unplug the switch.

My emergency break light in my Jetta stays on even when I disengage the break.?
Q. When I disengage the e brake, the light stays on and the EPC light is on as well. The break is definitely not engaged as the car will roll on a slight incline without problem and there isn't any smell. Is there a a quick fix to this, the alarm is driving me crazy. I have an 03 Jetta.

Brake light stays on 2002 Land Rover Freelander dashboard?
Q. Trying to debug this light that is on the dashboard for 2 days now. The Brake light (the same one that turns on when the hand brakes are pushed) is staying on all the time. I checked the handbrakes and they're down. I checked the brake lights and they are functioning. What could it be? I don't have the owner's manual for it either. A. take it by any auto zone store and have them scan the computer on it this will give you the trouble codes for what is wrong with it,if you don't have it scanned you wont now what to buy for it to repair it with,and guessing on these is way to expensive,the scan will tell you what set the lights to come on then you can repair it,good luck on it.

Q. Replaced voltage regulator on 83 Sportster because the new battery would loose charge after less than 200 miles. Trickled charged battery over night. When I started the bike, generator light stays on and will glow brighter when engine is sped up. This has never happened before. Need tips on what to check for. I will now go drink a beer or two and wait for the mighty brains in cyber land to provide useful information to resolve this simple issue.

A. the generator should have been flashed when you changed the battery...there is a FIELD post that needs to be shorted QUICKLY to the positive terminal...if you changed the battery then had the charging issue that is why...the generator has no way of knowing what the polarity is until you flash it...just use a length of wire from the battery...save the regulator it is probably good

Logic 4 home domestic alarm tamper light stays on and alarm will not set?

My dome light & rear center brake light stays on after turning the car off. What do I do to prevent this?
Q. The dome light used to stay on for less than a minute and then turn off. Now, both it and the center brake light on the back of the cab of my '95 Ford Ranger stay on for at least 30 minutes before turning off. I took off the plastic cover of the brake light and unplugged the cord to the bulb(s) and put the cover back on. Then I took the cover off the dome light and took out the two buibs. But it's frustrating when I need light inside the cab and I can't get any. I would have left it on but I know you can get pulled over for having your dome light on while driving. (I work in the evening until after around midnight and have a long distance drive back home from work). What can I do? Thanks.

I took off the plastic cover of the brake light and unplugged the cord to the bulb(s) and put the cover back on. Then I took the cover off the dome light and took out the two buibs. But it's frustrating when I need light inside the cab and I can't get any. I would have left it on but I know you can get pulled over for having your dome light on while driving. (I work in the evening until after around midnight and have a long distance drive back home from work). What can I do? Thanks.

A. You have a shorted wire somewhere these can be hell to find if it under the carpeting.
