Where in Manila or Makati can I rent an unexpensive place/pension house for a month?
Q. I am only staying in Manila for a month. I need a place that will allow me to stay for a month but it should at least have a bed, airconditioner and bathroom . It could be a pension house, serviced apartment or the likes. It should not be more expensive if I stay in a hotel.

What is the best way to get to Taal Volcano from Manila?
Q. I've heard and been reading a lot about the Taal Volcano in Talisay. This sounds like a great adventure to do! I want to go on the Taal Volcano tour really early in the morning (7am) and was wondering what is the best way to go about doing this? I would need to factor in commuting from Manila and I do not have a car! First question would be, how do I find transportation from Manila to Taal? Is it possible to rent a car and hire a driver for this early morning adventure? Do you have any recommendations on which car company to hire? How long of a drive is it from Manila to Talisay? Second question, should I just spend the day at Taal Volcano and drive back the same day or spend the night in Talisay? Third, I'm thinking off using Taal… [cont.]

A. Right now you cannot travel or go to Taal because of volcanic activity and some sign of eruption. Check this out for the answers to your questions:

How much is the fare from Manila to Bicol in the Philippines?
Q. It will take about 10 hours from Manila to Bicol in the Philippines? Would you let me know how much money will it cost by car, bus, etc?
Asked by qwe - Thu Jul 30 20:32:14 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Special bus with bigger leg room costs about Php1200. Normal bus about Php800. You might also want to check out Cebu Pacific as they often have promos for Legazpi-Manila flights. When we went there we were able to secure tickets for Php1400. The flight only takes about 45 minutes so if you want to save on time you might want to check out the different airlines.

Is there a Filipino with experience at Manila airport with departure passport control?
Q. My partner will be traveling to Shanghai to meet me for a vacation. He has a valid tourist visa from the Chinese consulate in Manila, but is concerned about departure procedures at Manila airport. It is his first time to travel to a foreign country and we want everything to go smoothly. Other than his boarding pass, valid passport, and valid visa what other documents are necessary for him to show the Manila departure passport control? The travel agency gave him a "disembarkation card" already filled out, and a hotel voucher. He will, of course, pay the airport tax at the airport before going through passport control.

A. I do not suppose there should be any other procedures involved since he carries complete documents that are required for his exit from the Philippines.

A. I think it will be hard for you to ship from Isan. You can use the Post Office but it is very expensive. I would suggest going to the Airport and speak to PB Air or checking around as there may be a freight forwarder. PB flies out of Udon, Sakhorn Nakhorn and NP. I sent a package to Nakhorn Phanom by post and it took 4 months. You could try at the Bus station as I have seen the baggage guy loading what looked like shipping packages. But I think the price no matter how you go Mak ma. If your in Udon you might have better luck or head for bangkok. If my friend calls I will ask and try to give you more info. A. food is really cheap for example a big mac meal at mcdonalds is like 2 dollars. Decent meal at a restaraunt its around 10. Hotel room is like 100 for a nice room per night. I'm sure you won't be visiting to many tourist places as they get old. You'll most likely be shopping and hitting the night clubs if your young. But in my honest opinion bring about 2 grand as there is alot to do and buy. Money does go fast there as logic goes out the window once one is in manila. Bloody awesome place.

A. The best way is to go to Iloilo City yourself. Then eat around. Go to the public market, the eatery section. Eat at the small places and the BBQ joints at night. And hire somebody right there. You might end up hiring more than one, because it will be cheaper. Figure out giving your new staff room and board, and offer Manila minimum wage. .

A. It's better if you ask the college you want to apply to, since each college have different grade requirements for transferees. As far as i know, transferees must have at least a GWA of 2.0. But that's for UP Diliman, so i really am not sure for UPM. Other requirements would probably be... ... an accomplished application form (get it from the college you want to apply to or from the OUR/ Office of Univ. Registrar) ... your TCG. ID pictures. ___ I checked the UPM website, and they're not saying anything about transferees, just incoming freshmen and foreign students applications. If you want, you can navigate through here ___ haha. UP Diliman ka na lang. Mas masaya at somewhat relaxed. Maraming trees. :D

Is there any safe hiking and adventure tours close to Manila that you can do in a day?
Q. I love taking hikes to places with beautiful sceneries and gorgeous picturesque places. I would love to see nature's beauty in the Philippines but don't want to travel far from Manila. Are there any tours or places that I can go that is driving distance from Manila? Thank you very much for your help!
