A. You say you are planning to send an application. That means you have not even started your application process and you are thinking that you will fail. If you believe that, then do not apply. Save your time and money. But if you believe that you are qualified and capable of doing that job, prepare yourself. Ask your agency how to go about it. What the steps are and what is expected from you at the interview. I am sure that there are LIC's who have just passed the interview and may be able to give you some tips on how the interview went. Do your research and make sure you have accomplished all the requirements. Then and only then must you submit your papers. Money is hard to come by these days and making simple mistakes that could have been… [cont.]

A. Many reasons for long processing time. Backlog, background checks, red tape. If they did not give you a time frame, you may inquire at their listed numbers. Try calling after the holy week.

A. I'm surprised the Canadians are taking unskilled labor. In the US you wouldn't qualify for a visa unless you were a nurse.

A. You do need to improve your english. Read through the below website - Canada immigration (main) (immigration) (skilled worker category) You do NOT need to pay anyone any money to emigrate. Yes there are fees to pay but you will pay them to Canada directly. The forms and guide will tell you how to pay. Most of the time you can fill in the forms on your own and do everything yourself. But if you apply as a skilled worker, you will need to improve your english a LOT to be accepted. You will also be required to do a IELTS test. Also skilled worker category from Manila is currently taking 5 years to be processed.

A. Legally, there's nothing I know of to stop you from going back to the Philippines and then legally going to work in Canada with a visa. However, you're not going to be able to hide the fact that you were an illegal alien in the US all these years. The Canadian consular officer might disqualify you for having bad moral character.

A. I think that is impossible. My friend has applied through several links and even direct sponsors. She has complete papers and very qualified but still was denied a visa after a year of processing. Other luckier applicants in her league got their visa after 3 and 6 months.

Aside from the requirements by the Canadian Embassy here in Manila, are there any other supporting docs that we need to present together w/ our application to convince the embassy that we are really coming back to the Philippines after a month? A. The Canadian immigration site is the one your really need to check. It has tons of information. You will need a visa, but the embassy staff would have told you that and the process for obtaining one. There is really nothing else you need to do other than what the embassy has told you. The letter of invitation the previous poster mentioned is very important. The letter should be notarized just in case there is any question, and you use this letter when you apply for your visa. The format for the letter is at the second link - your relative in Canada should use this as a guide in writing the letter. Also present the details of your work life when you apply for your visa and the details of the family that will be staying behind in… [cont.]

A. Yes you need an invitation letter from your relatives in canada and you need schooldocuments (enrollment for the comming year)and copy that you own a house. When you have a job you can ask your employer to give you a letter that you still employed and need to go back to work after the visit. Realize that you need an certain amount for each day you stay there otherwise when not sufficient funds your relatives has to be garantor for you.
