Q. Hi i am looking for card games to play with my nephew that will improve his math. He is in the 4th going to 5th grade. So far i thought of 21 and i declare war. Any others???

A. poker. poker is VERY good for maths. To learn about the percentage and chance you have of making a hand or of a card being dealt. also after a hand is won or loss you have to do a simple addition or subtraction question and example: the uncle is dealt ACE of spades 10of diamonds the nephew is dealt 4 of clubs 6 of clubs the flop (1st 3 cards to be dealt after u recieve your pocket cards e.g. for u thats the ace 10) ace of clubs, 5 of diamonds, 7 of clubs you can then ask ur nephew to work out the odds of him hitting a flush or a straight which is about 33 % chance of the straight and about 36% chance for the flush to work out the straight you would say "ok you can hit a 3 or an 8 hit your straight" there are four 3's in… [cont.]
