Medina (pronounced /mɛˈdiːnə/; Arabic: المدينة المنورة, pronounced [ælmæˈdiːnæ lmuˈnɑw.wɑrɑ], or المدينة [ælmæˈdiːnæ]; also transliterated as Madinah; officially al-Madīnah al-Munawwarah) is a city in the Hejaz region of western Saudi Arabia, and serves as the capital of the Al Madinah Province.
