How much memory should I get on my computer?
Q. I need to either buy a external hard drive or a brand new computer. Which would be best? I know the external hard drive is cheap and best for now, but will it give me that much memory? I have lots of pictures (1000-2000) and I play the sims 2 a lot! And I download custom content as well. So how much memory and space do you recommend?

A. just an fyi, memory in computer talk is RAM, not hard drive capacity. anyway, you can get up to 2TB in an external hard drive. any size you can get for a desktop, you can get the same in an external hard drive. also, if you have a desktop, you might have an extra hard drive slot that will allow you to simply install another one in it. based on what you use it for, i would say a 500GB would be perfect for you as they are cheap and fit a lot of information. if you want to future proof a bit i would get a 1TB

  • Nothing is more memorable than a smell. One scent can be unexpected, momentary and fleeting, yet conjure up a childhood summer beside a lake in the mountains; another, a moonlit beach; a third, a family dinner of pot roast and sweet potatoes during a myrtle-mad August in a Midwestern town. Smells detonate softly in our memory like poignant land mines hidden under the weedy mass of years. Hit a tripwire of smell and memories explode all at once. A complex vision leaps out of the undergrowth.
  • Reg, as he insisted on being called, had a memory that he himself had once compared to the Queen Alexandra Birdwing Butterfly in that it was colorful, flitted prettily hither and thither, and was now, alas, almost completely extinct.
  • Not the power to remember, but its very opposite, the power to forget, is a necessary condition for our existence.
