How soon after a missed period is the best to test for a positive?
Q. I took a pg test 1 day after I missed my period and it was negative. I am now 4 days late and still no period. I am 29 and this would be my first if I am. I have looked on websites for early symptoms of pregnancy and read different articles. I would just like to get others opinions on what they have experienced.

A. You should wait three days between tests or until your period comes. If after 10 days you still don't have your period call your doctor and ask for a blood test as these register less of the hormone needed to give you a positive.

Is it possible my gynecologist missed the bacterial vaginosis?
Q. I thought I had the symptoms but my doctor said she didn't find it and couldn't smell anything. Is it possible that she missed it or that the test was wrong? Should I ask for another test?
Asked by Melissa S - Sun Dec 16 17:57:18 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. If your doctor performed the test and it came up negative, I would go with that. If you are still not sure, or want to try and rule out something else, I would suggest going to the drug store and picking up one of those home self tests from Vagisil.

Is it possible to miss your period completely because you missed a few birth control pills and not be pregnant?
Q. I am about 4 days late and I know I missed a couple birth control pills and didn't take them at the same time ast they should've been taken. I just want to know if it is possible to completely miss my period because of that
Asked by Sammy Jo - Sat May 23 14:31:34 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Possible? Maybe, because of the goofed up hormones. But not likely. Typically no matter how many missed pills, you should still get a normal period, an early period, or breakthrough bleeding of some sort. Did you make up those missed pills? If not, then there is a very high chance that you could be pregnant. When you are on the pill, you need to take all of the pills in your pack, respectively on time, or make them up as soon as you remember if you miss. If not, then you are unprotected. And if you have sex, you are having unprotected sex, which would lead to a pregnancy. If you are already late for your period, then you should definitely take a pregnancy test! So test asap, to rule out pregnancy. if you are still having problems, [cont.]

Missed a whole month of birthcontrol pills am I suppose to miss a period?

A. It could be hormonal, from the pills leaving your system, but you could easily be pregnant. Even missing one or two pills, or missing no pills, can get you pregnant.

Missed pill in last week but did not start new pack straight away?
Q. I've been on Cilest for a few years and I missed a pill on Thursday, which is the last week of my pack. Instead of starting a new pack straight away liked recommended I didn't realise and am currently on my pill free week. Will I still bleed during this week?
Asked by Lauren D - Thu Jul 3 09:06:10 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. yes you will have a bleed this week but apparently the worst time to miss a pill is at the end or beginning of the pack as this might allow your body to release an egg. The bleed you have is not a true period so dont rely on this thinking you are covered. You really should use condoms for the two weeks (the week following your bleed) and if you miss a pill in the future even if it is at the end ou should run two packs together. Hope this helps x

What do you feel exactly when you have missed period as a sign of pregnancy?
Q. I would like to know , when you have missed period as a sign of pregnancy, what do you feel exactly in your stomach? Do you feel the same way you feel before you actually get your period? What exactly do you feel in your stomach? I would like to know because there's a great chance I might be pregnant, but also my period should come in two days by schedule. I feel the way I feel when I am about to get my period. What is the feeling though when you don't get your period?
Asked by Jessica P - Thu Apr 17 12:23:48 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I felt like I was about to get my period, with a few differences. My breasts were a lot more tender than usual. I was also much more sensitive to smells and tastes (I could taste the chemicals in the tap water and white bread) and I was extremely nauseated. Your best bet is to not get too worked up about it. Wait until when your period is supposed to start. If it is a no-show, take a pregnancy test.

Q. What symptoms and how long before your missed period did you notice them? How soon after did you get a positive?
Asked by MK88 - Thu Apr 2 19:02:12 2009 - - 14 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I had an idea that I was pregnant within a few days of conception (I know some people will insist that's not possible, but I felt "different). I was utterly exhausted to the point where I felt at times like I was going to pass out. I was profoundly hungry -- I HAD to eat and I had to eat at that very moment, whatever I could find. I also started to feel like my lower tummy was tight, like it was stretching or something. Then I started having cramps like I was going to have my period, and my period never came. I waited until I was over a week late until I took my first pregnancy test ever, and I tested positive.

What other reasons are there for getting a missed period?
Q. I already took 4 pregnancy tests on different days, and they all came out negative... And one of them was the first morning urine. I am on my 2nd missed period already. I don't think i am stressed out enough for it to be from stress, but i can't find any other possiblities.
Asked by xxlittlelis - Sat Dec 22 19:12:50 2007 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. If you think you may be pregnant get a blood test to know for sure. Even the best at home pregnancy test sometimes can not pick up the HCG hormone if it isn't concentrated enough. Stress, diet, exercise, medications, changes in hormone levels, weight changes can all affect your period. Most doctors don't worry till it has been 6 months to a year. If you still feel unsure go see your doctor.

A. You can still file it even though you're late. No need to call. My husband was sick with the flu for over a week and didn't get to file. Once he was feeling better and got out of bed, he filed for the missed week and got it.

How long after missed miscarriage do I need to wait to ttc again?
Q. Just had missed miscarriage at 11 weeks (baby died at 9.5) I had a couple of pills to swollow at hospital and contractions came and my little angel came out. 2 days later i now have period like bleeding. Is it ok to start ttc again when bleeding stops? will this cause my chance of this happening again to be higher?

A. I had one late April 2007 (scan at 12 weeks, baby had died at 6 weeks) and was told I need only wait until I'd had one period before trying again. The only reason to wait (they told me) was so that if I fell pregnant straight away there would be something to date the pregnancy from. I fell pregnant early June 2007 and because I'd waited a month was able to estimate when I was 5 weeks pregnant and have an early scan. Little man is now 9 months old :) There was no actual medical reason to wait.

How much should I charge for each day over a Contractors missed deadline?
Q. I am finalizing my proposal for my contractor who is doing renovations on my building. What is an acceptable charge for every day over the missed deadline of job completion?
Asked by Kristy - Sat May 26 00:44:45 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It depends on what you stand to lose if the work does not get done in time. If you own a 3 story building with 12 rooms you cannot rent then charge $200.00 to $300.00 per day. If it is your personal home then you can live with a smaller amount - say $50 to 100/day.

How soon before a missed period can you take a pregnancy test?
Q. I have recently been showing signs that I might be pregnant. I took a pregnancy test (3) each several days apart from one another, but they all said "Negative". I have not missed my period yet. Could the test be wrong?
Asked by nakita272007 - Sat Jun 21 15:57:55 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You can take a home test like everyone before me said at 5 days before but it is possible to get a false negative that early. Your best bet is to wait till you missed your period or if you really want to find out now ask your OB to schedule you a blood test. Blood Tests can detect HCG the pregnancy hormone right away and kind of let the doctor know how far a long you are too. HCG double every 2 or 3 days from day 1 of pregnancy and a non pregnant woman's HCG level are 5 or less. By the end of the first trimester of pregnancy your hormone levels are in the thousands. Hope this helped and good luck

A. NSC has revised the rules for requesting rescheduling of biometrics. NSC has indicated that they will deny all applications where the applicant s biometrics/fingerprinting have not been accomplished within the first 120 days of filing. Applicants must appear for biometrics by their appointment date or request rescheduling prior to their appointment date. The request for rescheduling must be accompanied by a reasonable excuse for failure to appear for the routinely scheduled biometrics appointment. 30-Days Permitted. When making rescheduling requests, it is important to know that the application support centers ( ACS ) cannot reschedule the dates for more than 30 days and are instructed to provide applicants with a reschedule date… [cont.]

What to Do When Missed a Couple of Contraceptive Pills?
Q. Hi, My girlfriend has been taking Levlen ED consistently for about 3 months now, but recently she has missed two consecutive pills. When she got the chance she took two at the same time to "make up for it". We prefer not to use a condom, but is it going to be safe to do so? What would the failure rate of that be? I have read that her body won't start to ovulate until the seventh day of no pills, so please help me. Thanks in advance.
Asked by Release12 - Thu Jul 24 08:05:29 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. She should not be doubling-up on birth control pills. Just because you miss yesterday, doesn't mean you can make up for it today. It won't do anything, so why add the extra hormones you don't need? If she misses any more, she needs to scrap them, and take the next one in her cycle when it's time to. No doubling-up - it won't do anything. Use a condom, at least until the middle of her next pill pack. She should be okay from there to continue having sex without condoms, but for the meantime, better safe than sorry!

How is it possible to conceive if you only missed one pill?
Q. From what I've heard, although I may be misinformed, the pill prevents pregnancy by not allowing you to ovulate. However, other people have reported getting pregnant after missing one pill. How is it possible to get pregnant when you miss a pill, since you wont ovulate in the one day that you missed it? I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but what is an LH surge? I mean, I know it means luteinizing hormone, but how does it happen?
Asked by Marinabear! - Thu Apr 23 03:05:44 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. In short: yes. However it is very unlikely. Some women if they even take the pill an hour late will get pregnant. However that statistic is also low. I am sure you are fine as long. Just keep an eye on your body and test if you end up late. The reason why it is unlikely is that it would take more than one day for your body to be able to get back into the swing of things. If you have been on the pill for more than three months your body would need at 24 hours just to get the pill completely out of the system, and sometimes a month or more to relearn now to ovulate.

I mean, I know it means luteinizing hormone, but how does it happen?

How long after you missed period did you get a positive pregnancy test?
Q. I've heard of women who were never able to get a positive on a home pregnancy test when they were clearly pregnant. I've had some symptoms and a missed period, but all negitives. Just wondering if anyone else has experenced this and still ended up being pregnant!

A. I knew I was pregnant before I missed my period. But to my dismay, all of my tests, both home and blood, came back negative for 6 weeks after I missed my period. It drove me crazy. Finally I took a digital home pregnancy test after 7 weeks and it came back positive. I hope you don't have to wait that long to find out. Good luck

If you have a missed miscarriage, will you still have a positive pregnancy test?
Q. I am pregnant with my first baby and I am worried about everything. If I had a missed miscarriage (where the baby dies but the body has not expelled the fetus), would I still have a positive pregnancy test? I am 10 weeks pregnant and I am just worried. Figured I'd take another pregnancy test to ease my mind but didn't want it to come out positive if my little angel had already passed. I have had no major cramping and no bleeding.

A. If you have any kind of miscarriage you can still get a positive test for weeks afterwards.. your hormone levels don't go back to zero the second you miscarry. It's normal to be worried at 10 weeks and it doesnt' get any better either.. I just now calmed down and stopped worrying and I'm 20 weeks.
