How does a modeling agency set up the photo books to present models? What do they use?
Q. I want to know what type of book modeling agencies use to present pictures of their models to potential customers.
Asked by Nana C - Sat Mar 22 08:12:04 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. none are probably exactly the same, but most reputable agencies follow the same ways: -the models' zedcards are displayed at the agency, usually on visible, eye level shelves so the client/agents can see all the models, and take some cards with them if interested. -there are also shelves with the models books (each model has two books, one for herself, and another one at the agency). these books are shelved like library books, with the model's name on it's spine. books are usually 9x14. -most agencies also have the models portfolio online. some are accessible to the public, others you have to have a client login. -if model has had a nice campaign or tearsheet, they are usually framed and displayed at the agency, sometimes blown up. … [cont.]

A. Cardio is important to burn fat, but too much cardio also makes you burn muscle. Three days of cardio, weight/strength training 3 non-consecutive days a week (use the weekend as a break from it), and 1-2 grams of protein per pound of body weight. Too many of the wrong carbs make you gain weight in the wrong places, though, so avoid too many starches and anything that's white. (Get your carbs from fruit.)

What websites allow aspiring models to post pictures for agencies to view?
Q. I am 15 years old and am an aspiring teen model. I am 5'10 and think that i have what it takes to be a model for magazines. I am ready to get started, and want to know if there are any websites that allow aspiring models to post pictures for agencies to see. I know of some, but I am looking for a relatively cheap way to do this.

A. You shouldn't ever pay anything to post pictures to a website. In fact, don't ever pay for anything - classes, photography, competitions, registration fees or anything else Your best bet is to go directly to the agencies themselves. The big agencies don't bother checking sites - they don't need to as they have thousands of people a month sending in photos and hundreds attending weekly open calls Here is a list of the top agencies

How do I make a ghost image to use for many different models of computers with sysprep?
Q. I want to make a company ghost image for many different computer models not using seperate images for each model since that takes up so much space. We use many different models of Dell computers. Can I just use an image from one model, ghost it onto another model, update those drivers, ghost it, then ghost to another machine, update its drivers, then keep going until the image has all the drivers for all models? Or do I put all these drivers in a directory for sysprep to find?

A. There are always errors when using Ghost programs. I have read about it, and everyone has problems. The only way it will work is if you have EXACT computers with all the same motherboards, components, operating systems, and configuration. Whenever you try to ghost a PC with one configuration to a PC with a different configuration, you will have problems. It's better just to make backups of the data, have all your installation CDs, and go from there. If you are organized, it will go quickly. I read about Ghost to use to transfer data from my old to new computer. After I read it, I said forget it. Instead I used an external hard drive, got all my data organized, installation discs ready, and it was a breeze. I could repeat it easily… [cont.]

Why did all the models stampede? How does one cause a stampede of wannabe top models?
Q. I heard it was a car backfiring? I don't buy that unless it happened 20 minutes earlier as that involves too much thought process. What really caused the stampede? Did they all run the same way? Have they lost any? Did the blonde Models get trampled or did they respond in time?

What year models do the 350z have tire feathering problems?
Q. im looking to buy a 350z, i have my eye on a base 2005 model, but i heard some of the models get uneven tire wear. i think that only happens to the 03 and 04 models, not sure. does anyone know if the 2005 model gets that problem too?

A. i believe that problem was fixed the same year, or just the following year. they had a little bit of a toe and camber problem. don't get a base 350Z, get the enthusiast 350Z. the base does not have a limited slip differential... which sucks not having. but i don't think that back in 2005 they were called the enthusiast model. sorry man i forgot this detail. unless you plan on installing a NISMO limited slip differential, it'll be ok to get the base model.

What is the difference between mathematical models and math equations that describe physical phenomena ?
Q. Are mathematical models describing physical phenomena, the same thing as mathematical equations describing physical phenomena. Are the terms model and equation just different names for the same thing or do they describe different things.
Asked by ABC X - Sun Jun 24 09:46:02 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. More or less the same thing. A model is a series of equations that describes the behavior of a physical object in response to real world forces. I believe that the term "model" is used because the equations used are assumed to be a simplification that only includes effects that are assumed to be significant. Sometimes trivial forces are not so trivial after all, and a bridge collapses because the equation was not precise enough. --- A mathematical model is an abstract model that uses mathematical language to describe the behavior of a system. How do models take care of their hair?
Q. Models' hair is always curled, straightened, gelled, sprayed, etc . . . It goes through a lot of stress. But in many commercials, like the Herbal Essences ones, you see models with long, beautiful, shiny hair. Do most models have short/chin-length hairstyles and then use extensions, or is that too expensive? I know famous models have money, but what about less rich ones?
Asked by : ) Namaste ( : - Sun Apr 6 20:24:52 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. First off it is extensions! They barely have any hair. They use fake hair most of the time that makes it look like their hair isn't damage. e.g. Kimora Lee Simmons, has really short hair, she wears extensions! That gives her her lovely locks! Plus its commercials and pictures they alter everything for a better look!!! They don't worry about expensive they make money!!!

Where can I find models of Volkswagen Beetles?
Q. I'm planning a sweet sixteen with a "Peace, Love & Sweet Sixteen" theme. I would like to use models of a Volkswagen Beetle/ Volkswagen Bug for my invitations. I would like to be able to put an actual invitation and a button in the model, so they need to open and not be super small. I am willing to order online, or from a specific store. I will need between 30 and 40, possibly more. Thanks!

How do you strip paint from plastic Warhammer models?
Q. Okay, so my boyfriend and I are into Warhammer, him with the building and me with the painting, and I'd like to redo the paint job for his Tyranids. He's done at least two primer jobs and two paint jobs on each model so the paint's filled in the fine detail areas. Most of them are plastic, and some of them are metal. How do I strip the paint from the models without ruining them since he loves them so much?
Asked by xblack_rosex - Mon Jun 30 04:55:10 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Phoenix Precision Paints does a product call SuperStrip that's especially formulated for the removal of paint from plastic models. They're UK-based. If you're in the US, then there's a product called "Simple Green" that's intended as a heavy-duty de-greaser for engine parts which serves very well: leave to soak overnight and brush away with a soft toothbrush the next morning. Alternatively, you can apparently use brake fluid. I looked into this a while ago, though, and couldn't work out which of the thousand different types of brake fluid I was supposed to use.

What is the difference between the different Kitchenaid stand mixer models?
Q. I recently got a Kitchenaid Classic Plus stand mixer (It is the cheapest one out on the market and is only available in white). I am happy with it so far, but I am wondering how this particular model will last in the long run. Does the wattage really make that much of a difference? Will my model last as long or as well as the more expensive or premium models?
Asked by Jewish Mother - Sun Jan 25 17:20:34 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. For a stand mixer - wattage equals power. Higher wattage motors will be able to mix stiffer batters and doughs. There is a regulator in the Kitchenades that keeps the beater moving at a constant speed no matter how stiff your batter is - this makes the motor work harder. It would be pretty difficult to get a mixer motor to burn out with normal kitchen use - but I have heard of it happening in commercial kitchens.

Where is a site where I can see models with different hair styles?
Q. I've been wanting to dye my hair a different color since I had already started the 12 grade a couple of weeks ago. I have Dark brown hair but I want to dye it blonde. I already know how to dye it by myself so I want so see like models with the hair color because what I have seen in some sites, they just have like 10 pieces of hair and they look fake and everything. Seeing models with the hair color makes it real and I can imagine how I will look. So I would like to see it here in the internet before I go outside because when I go to the store, I want to tell them exactly what kind of blonde hair I want.

What happens when models become too old to model?
Q. I mean people who work as models and nothing else. Do they have to get low-paying dead-end jobs? Or do they become TV presenters? If models are successful (which I know there isn't a huge chance of) and earn a lot of money, do they just retire young? I'm only asking this question out of curiosity btw.

A. It really depends how famous and successful they were. If they are a household name, they often start their own businesses - like Elle McPherson's lingerie line, Kathy Ireland for Kmart, Christy Turlington's Nuala clothing line, etc. Many of them end up marrying multi-milllionaires or rock stars like Stephanie Seymour, Yasmine LeBon, Cindy Crawford, Jerry Hall, Rachel Hunter, etc. Or they take their money and just enjoy life. Some like Renee Russo, Brooke Shields, Liv Tyler, Charlize Theron, Monica Bellucci, etc become successful actresses. Those that are not famous or didn't make enough money to retire on usually end up working in a modeling agency, PR agencies, fashion magazines, or in the fashion and beauty industries. Just walk into… [cont.]

How can we model future changes in the global climate with the scientific models available?
Q. How can we model future changes in the global climate with the scientific models available? Plllease Give Me a good answer! :) Thanks!!!

A. The fact is...our current models, as intricate as they are, fail miserably at predicting our current climates based upon the data of the past century. Because they cannot model our current climates using fairly accurate historical data, there is no way for them to model future climate changes or "global warming" because there is no accurate data. Models that pretend to predict the climate a century from now, try to use current conditions and "estimated" values of dozens of variables for the future. As an example, clouds made of water vapor, both reflect sunlight back into space, trap heat in the atmosphere, and deliver water in the form of ice, snow, and rain. Without knowing how much cloud cover exists in say, 2025, and over what… [cont.]

What is this movie about a woman that moves into an apartment with models?
Q. I saw a movie a while ago on TV and i want to watch it again. All i remember about it is that it's about a woman who moves into an apartment with a bunch of models and they give her a make over and help her with this guy who she met on the street (his big dog jumped on her). The guy lives in the building across the street, so this woman and the models can see in his window and they think he murders someone. Is any of this ringing a bell? Thanks in advance!
