What would be the word for a newspaper for back during the renaissance times?
Q. I have to do a paper on someone from back then and I was going to do it like a newspaper article. My teacher said to make sure it fit the time period. I said fine not thinking about the fact that they didn't have newspapers back then. I'm sure they had some sort of something along the same lines, I just haven't the foggiest idea what it would be. Help is greatly appreciated.

A. So few people read and wrote during those days that it's hard to say. The renaissance equivalent of the modern newspaper was the town crier, a man paid to walk through the town and yell the news. How about doing it as a letter, perhaps a nobleman or a member of the clergy writing another and telling about local events and happenings. "That idiot Columbus managed to con the Queen out of enough money for three ships and a trip to the Indies. Ha! He and his ships will fall off the edge of the earth and that'll be the last we ever hear of that bozo."
