A. In 2002, the navies of Canada and Spain almost traded fire, due to the fishing fleets of Spain poaching in the Grand Banks, in Canadian waters. In Europe, approximately 70% of drinking water is linked to glacial runoff. Since the glaciers are shrinking, and are expected to be gone in the next generation, about 300-500 million people are going to need to find a new source of drinking water. A shifting environment means areas that have been prime agricultural land may turn into desert, thus reducing the amount of available food. Countries with hungry populations tend to look for food wherever and however they can get it. Rwanda is an example. Yes, environmental change can lead to unrest and war.
