How many ounces of formula does your 7 month old drink from morning to bedtime?
Q. I ask this because for the past month my son cut down from 30-36 ounces a day to almost 20 ounces if that. Is it normal to all of a sudden not wanting to drink as much formula. He gets about 4 ounces of juice and a jar of stage 2 veggies and a jar of fruit a day. He also gets a bowl of rice cereal in the morning and at night. Thanks for the help.

A. My son is 8 months and since he was about 5 months he really cut down, he just wasn't interested in drinking anymore, i asked my health visitor and she said try to get at least 22 fl ounces in him, well easier said than done. i give him 8 in the morning then try and out 2 in his cereal, then about half one try with about 4 or 5, then at bedtime i give him 8 again. just as long as he get 20 or over he should be fine, try giving him baby yoghurt's too. It is hard getting the milk down them without forcing it down. you could also try just putting an ounce in his food too. I hope this helps, good luck

How many ounces of formual should a 3 1/2 month baby be getting in a 24 hour period?
Q. What is the total amount of formula a 3 and half month old be getting in a 24 hour period. Not how many ounces at a time a total ounces. For all of you that have something to say about breastfeeding have you ever thought that maybe some people can not. I am one of them... I never got any milk due to health issues so therefore I had no choice so I guess you want me to starve him since he is to have NOTHING but breast milk.

How many ounces of formula should a 10 month old be eating?
Q. Sometimes mine eats as little as 18 ounces a day, and sometimes it's more around 26 ounces. What's the norm? I DO feed him real food. 3 meals a day PLUS the formula. He still needs to be drinking formula for a little while longer. I was just wondering how much formula in addition to his real food he should be eating.

Q. I have breastfed my almost 9 month old daughter exclusively until two days ago. All of the sudden, my milk dried up. Now, I have no idea how many ounces of formula she should be drinking. She is refusing bottles right now and probably needs some time to get used to the different taste. She also eats about 4 jars of baby food and some rice cereal every day.

How many ounces in a standard large jello box?
Q. I know there are 3 ounces in a small box. Making jello shots & need answers fast. Thanks. All the recipies call for the big box not the little. But the littles ones are all I have.
Asked by Christo - Tue Jan 29 22:51:03 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The large jello boxes are roughly 6 ounces - twice as big as the small boxes. So use 2 small boxes or cut the rest of the ingredients in half. Large box of Jello uses 2 cups hot water and 2 cups cold water...small box uses 1 hot and 1 cold. Of course, I often use fruit juice or 7-Up for the water. Enjoy your Jello shots...I hope they're for a Super Bowl party!

A. I have bottle fed many kittens and one puppy over the years. Newborn kittens should be taken away and hand fed if they aren t eating because they will run into trouble so fast otherwise so good for you for taking charge. The best way to tell if your baby is eating enough is the weigh them twice a day and keeping track of their weight gain in a chart. A scale is an important tool, you can use a digital food scale that is sensitive enough to read small amounts. On average a kitten that sizeshould gain about 1/2 oz a day and is a better judge of food amount. Try to get at least one fluid OZ a day and more is better. No weight gain at all for a new born is not unusual for the first day or two, but only if they are eating. If you don't see any… [cont.]

How many ounces should an 8 month old baby drink?
Q. I think my baby stays hungry, I give ger 7oz and everytime the bottle finishes she cries. I dont want to overfeed her cause she is also eating solid food now. The dr told me that she should be going longer periods between the bottle between 4-6 hrs, which she does but sometimes shes crying at 3 hrs even after eating a gerber (lets say). Im afraid she will get fat if she eats too much. Should I give her more ounces?

How many ounces of pure alcohol must the average person have in their blood to be considered intoxicated?
Q. I need to know for a health question. The standard BAC for intoxication is 0.1 percent. And the average person's body contains 4 quarts of blood which is 32 ounces. If you have absolutely no clue, please don't attempt to answer. Thank you very much to whoever will help me!!!
Asked by hayden shelby - Mon Oct 29 17:00:41 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You have a problem in that we don't have a statutory limit on what is considered 'intoxicated'. For driving it varies on age and experience.. If we take the limit to be .05% of the blood content being alcohol, the figure is a simple calculation but is better done in volume rather than weight. 4 quarts = 1 gallon = (approx) 5lts or 1000mls. 1% 0f 1000 is 10mls, .1% is 1ml therefore .05 % is .5ml so 5x.5 = 2.5mls. This is about one half a teaspoon.

A. Of course every baby is different! My almost 5 week old is drinking between 3-4 oz about every 2-4 hours. If she is drinking 4 oz completely, try filling the bottle with 4.5. It is better I guess to have her leave some left in the bottle than to want more after 4.

How many ounces of BREAST MILK should my one month old be drinking at a feeding?
Q. I usually breastfeed my baby till he is done so I don't know how much he is getting. I also like to pump extra so my husband can have a nighttime feeding and so I can go out once in a while. Sometimes when I pump I can get as much as 5-6 ounces and sometimes I can only get 2-3 ounces. I have been separating the milk into 2.5-3 ounces and was wondering if this was okay. He eats about every 3 hours.

A. Between 1-6 months old, breastfed babies take in an average of 25 oz. of breastmilk per day. A normal range is 19-30oz. That works out to about an ounce per hour, so yes, a 2-3oz. bottle is good. Because breastmilk changes to meet a growing baby's needs, their milk intake doesn't increase as they grow. It's possible that as he gets older, he may start to refuse the bottle. Or he may only take 1-2oz. from the bottle and make up the difference when he's with you. I've even heard of babies in fulll-time daycare who take very little milk during the day (only a few ounces), but nurse like crazy with mom in the evening and overnight. Just wanted to warn you in case he starts refusing the bottle or starts taking only an ounce or two when… [cont.]

A. I have a 6 week old baby right now as well, however he is breastfed and so I do not quite know what his intake is at this moment. However I do have a 4 year old and she was bottle fed. I remember worrying about her intake as well because I thought she way over ate. In the beginning I was told to only give her 2 oz. every 2-3 hours, however she would still always be hungry and cry afterwards. Finally one day after dealing with her always being colicky because she was still always hungry, and me exhausted from no sleep. I made her bottle with 4 oz. and she ate it all, I had to burp her extra times. Then she was happy, she always ate way more than what the Dr. Recommended but she was not overweight she was happy and growing just fine. I also… [cont.]

A. Try 3-4 oz. at first so that the unused breastmilk is not wasted. If it's not enough add 2-3 oz until satisfied. I froze bm in 4 oz portions. Worked out great. As they get older they may take 6-8 oz per feeding. It'll all work out for you. It's overwhelming at first, but things just start to fall into place. Best of luck.

How often and how many ounces of formula should a two week old be given?
Q. She normally drinks 2 ounces and as often as every hour to every 3 hours. Is this normal? When she is hungry again an hour later I worry about feeding her too much.
Asked by Heart - Sat Sep 20 21:57:19 2008 - - 10 Answers - 0 Comments

A. no you arent feeding her too much. normally a 4 ounce bottle should last anywhere from 2-4 hours depending on the size of the baby and how hungry she is. when she is hungry, she will eat and when she is done, she will spit the bottle out or turn her head away. dont worry about feeding her too much...babies eat when they are hungry, you cant overfeed them. as time passes, she will get more settled into a feeding schedule and you will start to know when she will be hungry. some babies eat in bulk and want a 4 ounce bottle and eat less times a day. others will eat an ounce or two at a time and eat more frequently. it just all depends on how much the babys stomach can handle and how hungry they are. as long as she is eating good for you during… [cont.]

In reference to pork, how many cups equal 2 ounces of meat?
Q. I am preparing smoke sausage and it says that for a serving size of two ounces, there are several categories. I am trying to watch my caloric intake and was wondering how many cups make two ounces.
Asked by kriminyjicket - Mon Jun 23 17:24:34 2008 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. According to 2 oz of smoked sausage = 0.39 cups For the others who answered this question: Weight cannot be converted to volume. This would be the same as trying to convert inches into pounds or trying to convert hours into cups; it just doesn't work. Your confusion comes from the fact that the idiots who invented the English System gave the same unit name (ounces) to both volume and weight. They are not the same! For example, a cup of lead pellets and cup of feathers both occupy 8 fluid ounces of volume. However, neither one will WEIGH 8 ounces. This is because every ingredient has a different density. "Oz" refers to weight and "fl. oz" refers to volume. If a recipe says "oz" then weigh it using a scale. If it says "fl. oz",… [cont.]
