What is the difference between the different parks' Six Flags season passes?
Q. I live near Six Flags: Great America (Chicago), but will be stopping at Six Flags: Kentucky Kingdom on vacation. If I buy a season pass I can use it at any of 15 parks. I'm wondering why a season pass is $90 if I choose SF:GA as my home park, but it is only $55 if I choose SF:KK as my home park. Is there a difference in the coupons included or something, or is it just a regional price difference. I'd appreciate any help from a SF employee, or someone who has bought the passes.

A. The prices differ from park to park due to attractions at the park. Six Flags Great America has Hurricane Harbor included in the price of your season pass. Not saying Kentucky Kingdom isnt a nice park, but there is a 5 coaster difference between parks and a big difference in quality. Also the incident with Superman Tower of Power doesnt help the parks popularity. Yes there is a difference of coupons between parks.(Coupon books are only good at the park of your season pass purchasing)

What happens to amusement parks and their roller coasters after their closings during the winter?
Q. What do maintenance do to the roller coasters and attractions during the winter when all amusement parks are closed since no one wants to ride a cold roller coaster. Laugh Chuckle Snicker.
Asked by John R - Fri Mar 27 14:47:37 2009 - - 4 Answers - 1 Comments
A. Depending on the ride, they can get taken apart and put into storage for the winter season. Most coasters have a building that houses the trains. Those buildings are used as storage and maintenance. Merry-go-rounds and ferris wheels will get their cars or horses removed and placed into storage, as well as sky rides. The down time for amusement parks is spent with maintenance doing general ride maintenance, clean ups, and repainting.

A. You can look up your city government's web site and look under parks and recreation. Some dog parks are also run by counties and states so you can check there as well. You can also call local vets and pet stores as they should know.

Ontario Provincial Parks, How do I tell the difference between Premium, Medium and Low campsites?
Q. Heading with family around the lakes West, where can I find out the cost of camping in the parks. More specifically, what class are the parks? If you are camping and pay for a site, do you also have to pay for day use as well? Thanks
Asked by Elantrawag - Mon Jul 6 21:57:14 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. As I've always seen it, premium is near or on the water or near or on what ever major attraction there may be and it also has water and hydro hookups. Medium is within walking distance and most likely has water and hydro hookups. Low is normally a bulk or overflow area, flat with no trees and no services.

How to save money in Disney world and the other Disney parks?
Q. We will be going in September. We have our hotel booked and plane tickets purchased. Are there any ways to save on rooms, if we already booked them and have used AAA to get a good discount? (We will be a group of 5, 2 adults 3 kids - 22 mos, 8 yrs, 13 yrs) We plan on buying food outside the parks, for breakfast and snacks. We will need to buy a few meals in the parks or resort. Any tips on how to save money or where to eat? At least 2 sit down dinners, the rest can becounter service or whatever. How about park tickets? I have looked practically everywhere, and can't get a break on tickets for more than $2 a piece. Any money saving tips or tricks would be great!

It is cheap, the portions are huge (which means the kids could split - and actually, for the adults, you could split a grilled chicken Caesar salad...they are fantastic there!). In addition to the food savings, the kids will be entertained by the animatronic Alien Lounge Lizard who sings, plays piano, and is actually pretty funny. Also, in MGM, the Sci-Fi Dine-in Theatre is fun and not too bad on the wallet. It is entertainment for the kids (movies and "car-tables", good service (from waitresses on rollerskates) and the food is good enough for my family to go EVERY time we go back. A. If you want something different than the things in Disneyland, do not go to Magic Kingdom. Trust me those two are so much alike. The other 3 (Epcot, Disney's MGM-Studios, and Animal Kingdom) are awesome (I love disney world)! Other good thrill seeker parks are Busch-Gardens and Islands of Adventure. Obviously, during the week (Mon-Thurs) is a good time to go...but for months, just do process of elimination: January - Don't go at beginning of month, wait until after Winter break February - Fine March - Go before (or after) Spring break April - Fine May - BUSY because of Grad Nite June - BUSY! SUMMER July - BUSY! SUMMER August - BUSY! SUMMER September - Less busy but some schools still have SUMMER October - BUSY for Halloween celebrations… [cont.]

What's the best rental vehicle for a Utah National Parks trip?
Q. I need to rent a vehicle (out of Vegas) for a 9 day road trip through the national parks of Southern Utah and Northern Arizona. I'll be hiking and backpacking so I'll have gear that will need to be stored when on short/day hikes. Some parks in England now ask you your business for being there if you are not with a child. Outragess?
Q. Why do you need a child in tow to justify your visit to a public park? Parks are not built just for the benefit of children. I am a mum of 2 children but am outraged that other people are suspected just for being there. Is this not making a problem that doesn't exist in the main? After all peadophiles will find a way whatever.

A. I find this extraordinary. Parks are for everyone and as a person who is required to pay towards their upkeep by the local authority, I would resist any attempt to expel me. I don't object to people being asked not to gather around the play areas without a child in tow, but the flowers, the trees, the lakes with their acquatic birds and all the other attractions of a park are for everyone, not just children and their escorts. I suspect that sooner or later someone is going to challenge this as an infringement of their human rights, and a good thing too.

What is the series Parks and Recreation about?
Q. I am interested in buying the first season of the NBC series Parks adn Recreation on when it releases on DVD ON September 8th. I just want to know, what is the show about. Also, is it the Office spin off that they've been talking about for a while?

A. The series follows Leslie Knope, the deputy head of the Parks and Recreation department in the fictional town of Pawnee, Indiana. Knope takes on a project with a nurse named Ann to turn a construction pit into a park, while trying to mentor a bored college-aged intern. its hilarious youll love it if you like the office. Leslie is so clueless shes like the female version of Micheal on the office.

What can we do in Florida instead of going to theme parks and beaches?
Q. My family is planning on going to Florida the second week of April. We will probably go to either the Daytona Beach area or the Tampa area. Which area do you think is better? My sister and I are 17 and 18, and we are too old to be going to theme parks so we won't be going to Orlando as usual. What other fun stuff can we do in the areas I mentioned? Or are there any other cities that are good to go to?

A. There are many other better places to visit in Florida than Orlando. I vacationed in the Tampa Bay Area in January and enjoyed it very much. The Tampa Zoo is lots of fun. If you go there, take the 1 hour boat tour. The guides are very informative, and you will be able to see alligators and manatees. They aren't too far from the boat, so you can get some good photos, and you don't have to strain your eyes to see them. I also enjoyed feeding the budgies there. The budgies come all over you and they are so much fun to feed. The Florida Aquarium in Tampa is fantastic. I was able to watch the "penguin promenade" at around 10:30 a.m. Aquarium employees bring out two African penguins in a wagon. They take the penguins out of the… [cont.]
