Q. For my french exam, I have to memorise how to write a french passage i've already written. I have until next week, and am having great difficulty in remembering it. I've tried writing one sentence out a few times, until i know it off by heart, and can do it without looking at the text. However, after memorising the first few lines, I struggle at memorising anymore! Any tips on how else to help me memorise it? Asked by LolaRose24 - Sun Jun 7 14:56:51 2009 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments A. The same way you memorize a passage in English. Learn the first sentence. Then learn the first and second sentences together. Then learn the first, second and third sentences together. And so on. Each time it will get easier because of the cumulative effect. Some people find it helpful to learn the different sentences in different rooms, so that you have something concrete to associate it with. Q. For example, the following. Winds tend to be SSW before a cold front passage in the Northern hemisphere, and WNW after passage. Cold fronts tend to stretch from the NE to the SW. Winds tend to be SSE before a warm front passes, and SSW after passage. SE to S before an occluded front passes, and W to NW after. Yes, this is caused by Coriolis, but more specifically, how can it be explained? Asked by Jason Roberts - Wed Jul 23 01:00:30 2008 - - 3 Answers - 1 Comments A. Jason and Sturm, I am surprised about your focus on the Coriolis effect. In my very humble opinion, this is what I understand is happening. In the northern hemisphere, the Coriolis effect makes large air masses to slowly move to the right. An anti-cyclonic slow system will then spin clockwise. A cyclonic system, on the other hand, is much stronger and when the air is sucked in a convection, bending to the right, but affected to the centrifugal force, ends spinning counter-clockwise around the center of the low pressure. Since we talk about frontal passage, we assume that we are at a southern latitude in relation to the low center. As Sturm says, there is the friction of the surface. There is something called the ...
