Why people knows the right way in investment & he willing to teach others while he can make a lot of money?
Q. Why some smart people knows the way about investment and he could make a lot of money, BUT still want to teach others how to invest? For example, like some people play stock market. They willing to tell people what would be the trend of a stock or they would write a book to let other people know how to make money. I don't understand. If they kept the serect, they could make so much money to themselve. Why tell other how to do?

A. Well the truth is that people who really making a lot of money don't really teach you how to do it. Did you ever hear Warren Buffet teach people how to pick stock. You should read the book value investing. Warren Buffet never want to disclose his secret of investing or the stock that he will be investing in. So what do you think make this people want to share their way of investment, it is because it is easier to make money from you than from the stock market :) If you are willing to pay me $3000 I don;t mind teaching you how to invest in stock :)

How can I prevent people from taking advantage of me constantly and not live in regret?
Q. Everyone I have been dealing with in business has been letting me down in so many ways that I just want to disappear. I am constantly sorry dealing with people after losing my money, energy and time. I am losing with each and every single one of them. I am constantly making mistakes with the people I choose to trust and work with. I give more respect to these people than I give to myself and then they spit on me or rudly ignor me and take the money and literally run. I have robed myself of too much all the time and I know better but I give people the benefit of the doubt anyway. How can I change and what can I do to stop being so nice to people who don't care about me. I am far from being finanically rich and everyone knows this, so… [cont.]

A. Business is business. Figure out what you need to make in order to make a sufficient profit and stick to it. "Nice" should not be in a business vocabulary. "Friendly, good service, good product, timely", these are business words. People will always take what they can get. It's up to you to present your business in an attractive way and still make a profit. Figure out what your true investment is, decide on a price, and have the confidence to be firm about it. Find other reasons why people will want what you have,i.e. quality, style, exclusivity, speed, etc. Sell those points.

Why do people some people consider Cleveland to be a dirty city?
Q. I visited Cleveland last June and really enjoyed myself there. Before planning my trip, I read a couple a travel books and a few personal opinions on a travel site of people who had visited. Quite a few people regarded it as being a dirty city that offered visitors few entertainment sites; however, when I visited I found it to be a really beautiful city--much cleaner than most! Just wondering what people on yahoo answers have to say about Cleveland. Also, not topic related, but, I saw a UFO in Cleveland; that became the highlight of my trip.

A. I've spent quite a bit of time in Cleveland, as my husband has had 2 surgeries requiring extended stays at Cleveland Clinic. Which is one of the best hospitals I've ever seen, by the way. Downtown Cleveland is rather nice. We liked walking around by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Science Center on the water. And restaurant row has some surprisingly good places. We liked the downtown stadium too -- convenient. Nearby Chagrin Falls was a cute town to visit as a day trip. All in all, it's not a bad place to visit for a while. However, driving from downtown to the hospital, we did pass through some less than desirable areas. But all cities have such areas, so we didn't pay much attention. No UFO's for us, sorry. Just my 2… [cont.]

What is the psychological term for people who take pride in human suffering?
Q. Anyone know what the psychological terms are for people who take pride in human suffering or any psychological terms for the following: People who are bullies. People who like to torture others. People who like to get entertainment from harassing others. People who get their entertainment from watching others get hurt. People who laugh and get personal joy in the embarrassment or humiliation of others. I cannot understand why anybody would do any of the above and would like to know why they do. I know there are plenty of people out there who laugh and get personal joy in the embarrassment or humiliation of others. But I just cannot understand why?

Why are there evil people in the world? What causes people to commit evil crimes?
Q. I am writing a journalism piece for my high school newspaper and want to see what people around the world think of criminals who kill for no reason, people who rape for no reason, and people who abuse their children for no reason. What causes these people to hurt others?

A. Well.. each one differs from the other, who doesn't agree at this?! No one. But what makes them different, as in good and bad? This is what you're probably looking at for your journal, except you're referencing to 'evil in human'. Philosophy and Theology once had a debate about the cause of evil in the world like hypothesizing whether it s a metaphysical nature (which competes with goodness) or because of the free will of humankind; simply free will vs. determinism. Many religious beliefs also state that it s because of a devil and his fault; uhh.. Hellooo, is it God s fault then for creating the devil?! All these kinds of debates are boundless, and are based on opinions, like that s what philosophy is, ri? But think about this … [cont.]

Why are people too lazy to use oil paint?
Q. Why are so many people too lazy to use oil/Alkyd paint? Really, washing your hands and brushes with a bit of Varsol is not a terrible chore. Or here si an idea...toss the god damed brush, they are cheap and not really reusable anyways. Alkyd paint is so much nicer, its thick, water proof, better adhesion, and less prone to wear from foot traffic? Why are people too lazy to wash with varsol and too delicate to handle the fumes? Dont you want your paint job to last? Oh, and on the same note, why are so many people too lazy to prime? I do this kind of work on and off, and it never ceased to amaze me how lazy people are and how much shoddy work they do out of being lazy.

I do not have an answer, except that in spite of what we do, we can't control the hidden destiny. Smokers can live to old age, and the good die young. How do religious people like the secular humanitarian organizations like Rotary and the Lions Club?
Q. These are organizations dedicated to charity and volunteer work they do good stuff in communities all over the world and, unlike religious people, they do it without trying to trick vulnerable people into believing a bunch of contrived superstitious nonsense and joining some cult of irrational crackpots. A. Rotary is not a secular humanist club. Many, if not most Rotarians have deep religious beliefs, are active in their respective churches and have the utmost respect for other believers. Every Rotary meeting I've been too, has always included a short prayer or benediction as part of the program. Rotary however, is a secular service organization and has both believers and non-believers. No particular faith is promoted or required and as I understand it, selling your business or religious beliefs to others at a Rotary event, is considered to be very bad taste and contrary to the open and accepting nature of the organization. How do some people get to be fortunate enough to have work @ home jobs, & they don't help others get them?
Q. I mean, even if it ISN'T a home-based business. I hear how some people work @ home. How can some people be lucky like that if 97% of work @ home offers are scams? & for people who ARE successfully working from home, how come you can't tell anyone what you do & how you get access to such good job? I thought with business, you're supposed to recruit people & help them, too.
Asked by Question Queen on Royal Throne! - Sat Jul 26 12:13:16 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Because nobody actually has those work-at-home jobs, and legitimate business owners want their staff to show up to the workplace every day. The few people who do really work at home aren't just cruising the internet spamming message boards and posting AdWords. They're typing legal documents as a transcriptionist or paralegal, running their own home-based technical business or consultancy, or being brokers, bakers, etc. They have no use for a faraway home-based staff member who they're never going to meet.

Why do some people need more social interaction than others?
Q. Some people can have very low amounts of interaction with other people, and still feel comfortable around them. On the other hand, some people need to be in constant/moderate interaction to be comfortable around people.

A. Check out either "Please Understand Me" or the Meyers Briggs work on personality. (Books or online) Extroverts are those who replenish themselves by being with others, love parties, drop in friends etc. Introverts recharge by alone time. They need to have personal space, few intrusions and usually hate parties, chit chat, and have maybe one or two best friends. They prefer serious discussions about ideas, concepts etc. To most extroverts, a stranger is just a friend they haven't met yet. "Please Understand Me II" breaks things down into 16 combinations and what professions are good matches for each one. They seem pretty accurate to me.

Do people understand the difference between LOCAL and FEDERAL government?
Q. I see people on here that rant on and on about health care justifying it by having schools, firefighters, police etc. Do people realize that these are at the local and state level and NOT the federal level. Are atheists and people to whom religion is of low importance, generally less biased and prejudiced?
Q. Less than religious people, of course. It s just that religious people seem to me to be very biased and prejudiced, I mean, they attach so much importance to their particular brand of reality rejectionism and will often judge people solely on whether or not they accept the same stuff without evidence that they believe. The only prejudice that atheists seem to display is a tendency to reject religious people s claims but you can hardly blame for that, now can you?

Q. The Ganges is a literal sewer. It is completely black and septic. Every 7 kms there are 30 sewers pumping waste into it, and people dumb thousands of dead people, cattle, and dogs in it daily. People bathe in it, drink the water, go to the toilet in it and cook with the water! How are they not dead? And what about the people who fish the dead human carcasses from the river and eat them for religious purposes? How do they stay alive?

A. Dear miss Sweet, the Scientists took a sample near the sewer opening and found the water "unfit for drinking" then he tested the water about 100 meters further and stated it " absolutely fit for drinking" That's my mother GANGA" and please don't call it a sewer, it hurts.

What would happen if people did research before they actually formed an opinion?
Q. What if people actually tried to understand people before writing them off? What if people actually learned how our government works before deciding they don't like it? What if we went somewhere before saying we don't like the place? What if people put as much care into something as they did hate?

A. The use of stereotypes would be destroyed. People would be less likely to judge. People would be more understanding and comprehensible. The race would be better all around. There would also be more trust in the world. Also, people like that would be a bit more emotional and by that I mean outgoing and eccentric to those of today. But I'd like to know what kind of answer you are rooting for. ~Nayr

How many people are questioned in a Top Secret clearance investigation?
Q. I'd like to go into an Army MOS which requires a Top Secret clearance security check. On the form, it requires an adult reference from each school I've attended and each place of business for which I've worked. Do they only question these people I list and my family, or do they talk to other people as well? As in, they talk to your reference, and get other names from that reference and then go talk to those other people.

A. You will be a lot happier in the Army doing a job you enjoy rather than doing a job you don't but you need a TS to do it. If you are thinking that if you have a TS you will have access to all sorts of top secret materials you are wrong. You will only have access to classified information required to do your job. There will be people that the investigators talk to that are not on your background paperwork. How many will vary depending upon how old you are, how honest you were on your answers in the questionnaire, adverse remarks made by those interviewed, how many places you have lived, travel to certain countries, relationships with foreigners, are a few things they investigate. I now of one individual where it took almost 3 years to… [cont.]

Why do people answer a question by saying call a technician?
Q. Obviously calling a Licensed Contractor is not on the minds of most people asking questions on this site. They are on here to find out if there is a alternative to calling and Electricain, Plumber, AC technician, Carpenter, Concrete finisher, etc... Why do so many people anwer a question with that stupid piece of advice? Duh...The only reason people are on her is to avoid the expense of calling the professional or to have some insight about their problem so that when they do call a pro they are not ripped off. Who in the F*** does not know how to call a professional. Please quit answering questions with that stupid obvious answer.

Why are people always comparing Katrina to other disasters?
Q. People have been asking questions about the fires in California and possible government help and I see people answering concerning what happened and is happening with Katrina. Why are people wanting to compare the two when they are totally different disasters and require different responses?
Asked by carmeliasue - Thu Oct 25 18:10:12 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. because katrina was considered one of the worst natural diasters in US history that happened very recently, and so they are comparing it with the fires, so it seems less big than it actually is, which make people feel better about it.

What do people think about a career as a careers guidance counsellor for young people?
Q. I'm thinking about a career in careers guidance counselling (in England) which I know now falls under the Connexions service. I was just wondering what people thought about it as a career. Is it rewarding? Having already worked in social services I am aware of the difficult people that you deal with but what I want to know do you feel as though you're making a difference and is it worthwhile?

A. I have a son due to leave school in May. I worry every day about him getting off to a good start and finding a worthwhile job. He has a hip problem, he is not above average academically but he is loyal, honest and hardworking. I hope with all my heart that there is someone at Connexions who cares enough to help him make a start in life as an adult, particularly because I do not live in England so what I can do for him is very limited. I am 55 and I still remember with appreciation what the youth employment service did to find work for me when I left school. If you are the kind of person who gains satisfaction from playing a pivotal role in making a start in life for young adults then there can be few jobs more important.
