How did Chinese people in the Philippines become so successful?
Q. I've heard so much about how successful Chinese are in the Philippines. That they came from China, started from scratch, and became successful business owners. There are lots of OFW's who go back to the Philippines to start a business but most of the time their businesses usually fail. Also most Balikbayans and foreigners would be reluctant to start a business because most see it as a bad place to make an investment. So what makes Chinese people in the Philippines succeed in business where most OFW's, Balikbayans, and Foreign investors either do not succeed or are reluctant to invest?

Q. im a senior in High school in here in NY and im planning to go to college next year in the philippines. But i dont know which college to go to . I want to take nursing, Doctor, or any in MED fields.. Which ones are easier to take ? And i will be taking the SAT test in Oct. ...Will the Philippines college accept my SATs scores if they are high? And are the Admission tests or the Entrance Exam in the Philippines are hard? A. I honestly don't know, but I can tell you, there are numerous other choices for a dietary food you can give. Look into frogs, gut loaded crickets and grasshoppers, for larger filling meals. If you are patient, you could also get him to accept larger sized pellets too. I really don't know what to tell you about a centipede, but try out the frogs if you're looking for something larger and more filling.

Tourist in the Philippines: How do I get a wireless phone to use?
Q. Hello In the coming weeks I'll be travelling to the Philippines. I'm assuming that obtaining a cell phone is as easy as going to mall and buying one from a shop. I've never used a GSM phone before. Are they very expensive? Also, if I'm not mistaken, they come with a SIM card too, correct? Is the prepaid airtime built into the SIM or do I have to buy a separate prepaid card? Thank you I currently don't own a cell phone.

When the situation is dire, I doubt red tape will prevent you from giving your time and skills to aid those that are in need. I'm originally from Australia, worked in china for a while and fell inlove with my dog and now I want to take him to the Philippines where my father is in his retirement. I don't know though if the philippine animal bureau or customs would accept my import permit application if the pet is coming from china. I already have the paperwork and am getting them done now. But what if the papers are not enough? I mean most countries think China is the dirtiest *** hole in the world but i really love my dog.

Q. I heard that people in the Philippines are rioting because of the food shortages. Is this really true? Are people really struggling more than ever because of food shortages there? And is there civil unrest among the people?

How much is the income tax in the Philippines?
Q. I am currently working from the UK with a whopping 22% off my income. I will be based from the Philippines (working for my UK company) from June but I will be liable for paying my own tax. Can someone please tell me how much income tax they will take off my wages once I'm in the Philippines?

A. It depends on how long are you going to stay working here in the Philippines. If it is just less than 6 months, then you will fall under the tax classification of Non Resident Alien not Engaged in Business and a final tax of 25% (not sure) shall be deducted in your income. But if you have intentions to stay or work for long and will have the necessary work permits, you may be classified under Non Resident Alien Engaged in Trade and Business on which your income tax will be computed just like the regular Philippine employees which uses of the graduated income tax table. The graduated income tax table rates ranges from 10% to 32% depending on which income tax bracket you will fall. Your net taxable income will also be subjected to legal… [cont.]
