Cost of hiring English proficient workers in Cebu, Philippines for Phone/Email Customer Service?

How do I get my smart buddy phone from Philippines to work in the US?
Q. I bought a Motorola W360 phone from the Philippines along with a smart buddy sim. I also activated the so called roaming. But once I got to the US my phone has no signal. Its network is already on auto and it has 900/1800 MHz (don't know if that will help or not). Oh yeah, I also have more than the required load for the roaming. Anyone has an idea what is wrong or what I need to do?
Asked by Jay - Sat Jul 11 01:49:34 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Your phone might not work in US as your phone you have is not same frequency in Philippines and USA. That is why you need to have a quad band phone which can use anywhere you wanna go. Your phone probably got dual band only.

Is there a law in the philippines against phone harassment?
Q. I have an employee in USA (NJ) whose wife in the Philippines calls and hangs up repeatedly. One morning I made slash marks every time she called. Over 150 calls between 7:30am and 9:00am. Some weeks its every day. The phone company says that they can't block an international number. HELP!!!

A. Try talking with the phone company in the Philippines where the wife is subscribed to so that they can make appropriate actions if they are good service provider not only to their subscribers in the country but also to those who receive calls from their service in the international scene.

A. Any cellphone will do. What really matter is the network you'll use. Globe, Smart, Touch Mobile and so on have their own different rates for calling abroad. They also have their own cheap deal plans for calling abroad.

Can I send sms from my PC to cell phone in the Philippines?
Q. I have a friend's cell phone number in Manila and would like to send an sms using my computer. I have accounts with most of the popular IM programs, i.e., AOL, Yahoo, Talk, Windows Live Messenger, and ICQ. Is there a way I can just enter my friend's cell number into one of these IM programs (or any other free program) and send an sms message? I would like the receipt of the message to be a surprise. Does my friend have to sign up on the same IM program, making receipt of a surprise sms message impossible, or can I just send it to a cell number, like here in the USA? Replies from people with actual experiences in sending sms messages to the Philippines would be appreciated.

A. I haven't been able to use AIM or Yahoo Messenger to txt a mobile w/ a Philippine carrier (Globe, Smart, Sun). The message would just bounce back. I have been able to use Chikka, though, and, AFAIK, that person doesn't need to sign up to receive the txt.

A. Hi Hi, What I did was buy a prepaid phone card. But you have to ask yourself if you are calling a land line or mobile line. Because each gets charged a different rate. For example I call a land line the most so I bought a card specific for calling a land line. I bought a $20 card with 10.5cents per minute. The only fee it has is a .49cent monthly, but I know I'm going to use my phone card before the month is up. There are a lot of phone cards out there. Luckily there is a youtube video you can watch and it teaches you how to choose the right phone card. Your t mobile monthly minutes will still get deducted even if you use a prepaid phone card. If your contract has free nights and weekends, then you should use it during that time if… [cont.]

A. most mobile phones in the philippines are operated by prepaid. now, there are two ways of loading credits in a prepaid account: 1) by phone cards 2) electronic load or e-load e-load works just like phone cards. it's just that there's an e-load operator who transfers prepaid credits to an account for a price. it's just like buying a phone card from a supplier but your prepaid credits get transferred electronically/via frequency instead of entering phone card numbers and PINs. so in analogy, phone card: phone card vendor/supplier, and e-load operator:e-load; but both has the same purpose: to load prepaid credits to an account. its not a phone device, a hack or a collect call of some sort so don't worry about your phone bills. they won't… [cont.]

Phoning Philippines to a mobile phone there from England?
Q. Finding it expensive phoning my girlfriend on her mobile in Cagayan De Oro using BT.Anyone from England know an alternate company i can use that when you use them the line is good and they send you records of your calls?

A. I found that It is cheaper to use a phonecard and also you know what you are paying beforehand. I usually buy a phone card called 'South East Asia'. You can buy these on newsagents or online www.thephonecardsite.com. You dial 0207 or 0800/0845 number enter PIN and then your girlfriends' mobile number. You can buy 20 phonecard for 17 on the phonecardsite and this will give you around 180-200 minutes - lasts longer particularly if you use off peak or on weekends and saves a lot of money rather than using BT. Hope this helps.
