How necessary is it to use pillars in a two tiered cake?
Q. I've never made a two tiered cake before, so I don't know whether it will be a diaster if I don't use pillars! Also what size pillars do I use?

A. This depends on what kind of two layered cake you're wanting to do. If you want it above the bottom layer with space in between then you will need some sort of support for this. Like Pillars and dowels. However if you just want the cake sitting on top of each other is it not necessary. You can simply use dowels to ensure it does not slide off the bottom layer or use dabs of icing to "glue" it down on the cake before icing the entire cake.

How do I set pillars below the frost line of an existing mobile home?
Q. I'm looking to buy a mobile home, but mobile homes aren't finance-able unless the pillars are set below the frost line. Looking to see if it is possible to do this after the mobile home is already in place on a concrete foundation?

What's the best way to affix garland to pillars on my porch?

A. You did not say what the pillars are made of. Base on that, a couple of ideas come to mind. If the pillars are wood, a wood screw or J screw. Metal pillars, round or square, a bungee cord. Available at any car parts house like Napa in different lengths, like 6, 12, 18, 24, 36, inches. You want the fit snug so the the bungee cord does not slid down the pillar. Just wrap one around the pillar and connect the hooks together and hang the garland on it. You can then decorate the bungee cord to disguise it. That is about all I can think of that would be easy and inexpensive. Wingman

What is the best way to position spiked crystal look pillars on a 3 tier wedding cake?

I also made my own gluten and dairy free wedding cake. I did two tiers (10" and 8" octagonals) My cakes rested on ordinary ply cake boards covered with foil. I had the crystal look pillars between the layers. They were not spiked, so I had to measure and cut 6mm diameter wooden dowelling lengths the height of the pillar plus the cake depth. I slightly sharpened the lower ends of the dowelling to help with their insertion into the cake. Can you use the Wilton brand separator plates with out the pillars or will it damage the cake?

Now I am afraid that they will put to much pressure on the cake and collapse it... is that true? I was going to use the separators instead of the coragated card board to make it easier to separate the layers

Also plastic drinking straws will function as dowels and keep the cake from getting squished. I use anywhere from three to five straws per layer and trim them when I'm crumb coating.

A. these five pillars ...are holy ...but just faith part of it ...out these zakat/charity ...deals with public ...rest four are faith ...now what about rights of humanity ...to violates those are crimes ...and crimes ...are dealt with justice ...punishments...allah will writes off sins ...but crimes ...humanity is the basis ...now another example ...from holy quran ...Sura baqara... allah says ...It is no virtue to face [mind you muslims ...offerring prayers ...true for our guidance...earliest muslims ...so great peoples ]...Towards east or west...but VIRTUES are ...then there are 19 commandments...[rights of neighbors ...even neighbors of journey ...poors ...so on ...]...so what is lesson ...without being honest ,upright ...without… [cont.]

How does the 5 pillars of islams affect muslims lives?

What type of concrete base is required to support structural pillars for raised decking.?
Q. I intend to build a raised decking platform. The ground below is soil. I need to construct concrete bases to support the the pillars that support the decking base. What depth/mix of concrete do I need?

A. It depends on where you live Here in the Northeast we put our concrete pillars 4' in the ground so we can get below the frost line If frost isn't an issue a depth of 2' should be strong enough to hold your deck Go to your local lumber supply house(HD,LOWES) and buy some 8" SONA-TUBES, this is a round cardboard type form that you bury in the ground and fill with concrete Just bury in the ground up to existing grade and then you can put your support Post on top of the concrete

7 pillars of wisdom vs revolt in the desert?
Q. I have the first american printing of TE Lawrence's "Revolt in the desert" , but I understand that Lawrence's autobiography is called "The Seven pillars of wisdom". so do I have his autobiography with an american title or do I have something different?

According to Wikipedia, 3 versions of his autobiography - each shorter than the other - were released because shorter versions were expected to be more popular. Q. I have a test coming up over Human Geography, which includes religion, and keep studying the five pillars of the Islam faith, but not remembering them. Any helpful ways to remember them??

A. These duties are Shahada (Profession of Faith), Salah (Prayers), Zakat (Giving of Alms), Sawm (Fasting during Ramadan) and Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca). Remember it as a daily routine. u get up in the morning and believe that allah is the only god and mohammad is his prophet. u get up and PRAY.on the way u meet a beggar n give him ALMS. so ur without ur lunchbox and have to FAST all day.ur company offers u a trip to mecca.
