Prayer is the act of addressing a god or spirit for the purpose of worship or petition. Specific forms of this may include praise, requesting guidance or assistance, confessing sins, as an act of reparation or an expression of one's thoughts and emotions. The words used in prayer may take the form of intercession, a hymn, incantation, words of gratitude, or a spontaneous utterance in the person's praying words. Praying can be done in public, as a group, or in private.

Most major religions in the world involve prayer in one way or another in their rituals. Although in many cases the act of prayer is ritualized and must be followed through a sometimes strict sequence of actions (even going as far as restricting who may pray), other religions, mainly the Abrahamic religions, teach that prayer can be done spontaneously by anyone at any moment.

Scientific studies regarding the use of prayer have mostly concentrated on its effect on the healing of sick or injured people. The efficacy of petition in prayer for physical healing to a deity has been evaluated in numerous studies, with contradictory results. There has been some criticism of the way the studies were conducted.

What should I feed a baby Praying Mantis?
Q. It is a small praying mantis, only about and inch, and I would like to know what to feed it, and/or how to care for it. I have it it a old fishbowl, with leaves grass a rock, and a stick that is raised. It's green and was found it South Eastern Pennsylvania.

A. Feed a baby praying mantis small crickets that can be purchased at a pet store. When it gets older they will eat larger crickets, but most prefer caterpillars. Beware of hairy caterpillars since they can be bad for it depending on which kind of praying mantis it is. To take care of it simply put three small drops of water in a bottle cap. Then squirt down the fishbowl with water every day.

Where is the verse in which Allah originally instructed Muhammad/Muslims to face Jerusalem while praying?
Q. Where is the verse containing the details of Allah's instruction to Muhammad/Muslims to face Jerusalem while praying since Allah is reported in the Koran to have said He had given such instruction earlier. Who removed it? Muhammad K you tried. But that is not Allah's original instruction for Muslims to face Al'aqsa. I think it is either mistakenly omitted in the Koran or there was no such instruction actually, even though Allah is reported to have said He was the one who gave such instruction

A. [2:142] The fools among the people would say, "Why did they change the direction of their Qiblah?" Say, "To GOD belongs the east and the west; He guides whoever wills in a straight path." [2:143] We thus made you an impartial community, that you may serve as witnesses among the people, and the messenger serves as a witness among you. We changed the direction of your original Qiblah only to distinguish those among you who readily follow the messenger from those who would turn back on their heels. It was a difficult test, but not for those who are guided by GOD. GOD never puts your worship to waste. GOD is Compassionate towards the people, Most Merciful. common misconception among the majority is, the directionwas al-Aqsa, interestingly… [cont.]

Can a praying mantis make my kitten sick?
Q. My kitten got into it with a praying mantis two days ago, evenutally killing it. He has been sleeping, curled up in a ball since yesterday afternoon. I'm wondering if the praying mantis is poisonous to cats? I looked up on the net info about praying mantis but could not find a reference.

A. Just call the vet and get it checked out. Even if the vet thinks you are stupid thinking that it might be poisonous, at least you won't worrying anymore. And I'm sure they won't think you're stupid, they'll probably be happy to answer your questions.
