What kind of prenatal vitamins should I buy and where can I find them?
Q. I just found out I'm pregnant, about 6 weeks or so. I haven't seen the doctor and won't be able to for another week, so I am wondering if I should start taking prenatal vitamins on my own already. Can I just get the vitamins from the grocery store, and is there a specific type I need to get? Thanks in advance for any helpful suggestions.

A. any brand of pre natal is great just get on them. try to take them in the evening to cut down on any possible nausea, and at the same time to keep you regular ( you may not think that's important now but you will later) also get yourself a bottle of folic acid anything around 200 mg or so for your energy and babies brain the earlier the better! Shouldn't cost more than around 14 for the prenatal and 2-4 for the folic acid ps they have a chewable version if you try the regular and they do not work ask your doc !

Whats the difference in taking prenatal vitamins and a regular multivitamin?
Q. Am taking a multivitamin for my hair is prenatal vitamins better? I had an iron deficiency and i heard prenatals had higher iron. My hair has thinned out alot.

A. I was taking prenatal vitamins for a while to help with my hair braking off, i dont cut or trim my hair anymore(religious reasons) but its much higher in Iron and Floic acid, its not bad to take them some women just take them when they are on ther period, anyways i had to stop taking them because to much iron makes me constipated (lol) but its true! good luck!

What is the first appointment like, what prenatal vitamins should I take?
Q. Ok this is my first pregnancy, and this will be the first baby in my family, since my little brother which was17 years ago, so there advice is good, just some what outdated. I wanted to know what the first doctors appointment is like. I am 9 weeks pregnant and I need to go soon, really soon, right? What should I expect and what should I take with me to this first appointment? Also, What prenatal vitamins do you recommend that I can find at the local drug store? A. Your first appointment will involve a survey about your family and medical history, along with a general physical. They will do a little blood work, and also a gynecological exam. Oh, and you'll have to do a urine test just to make sure you're pregnant (like you don't know). I would suggest taking the Walmart brand prenatals, they're pretty good. Doctors will often give you a prescription for a specific prenatal vitamin, along with iron sometimes. If you get the good ones, they taste like cake. You'd need to take them with food, and along with dinner if they tend to make you nauseated.
