What would this job profession be called?
Q. Ok, I'm a very creative person and I think I would have a lot of great ideas for companies to be more Original and not make it seem like they copied that idea from another company. I guess to get more customers. I'm thinking it might be marketing. Is this right? If not what is it? And what kind of education should I have and what to major in? And is it possible to do this freelance? And is anybody out there doing this profession? Ok thanks!

A. You're right, that is called marketing. A Marketing or Advertising degree is what you want. Yes you can do it freelance and charge your own rates.

What is required to switch profession to Certified Nurse Anesthetist?
Q. I am a full time employee in the Telecom arena with a 4 year Mechanical Engineering degree. I have always liked the medical field and need to know what is required to switch to a Certified Nurse Anesthetist profession. Would I have to spend 2 years earning my RN license and then take 1 -2 years of ICU work before taking the certified nursing anesthetist exam? What steps are required along the way and how long for each given my present qualifications?

A. You would have to become an RN before you could become a certified nurse anesthetist. It's usually called CRNA, or certified registered nurse anesthetist. So, you would have to have at least an associate's degree in nursing, pass the NCLEX-RN, and work for 1 to 2 years in a critical care area before you got accepted into the program to become a CRNA, which is about an additional two years. In my area, the program to become a CRNA is 22 months long, straight, with only a few breaks for holidays and spring/summer vacation. If you got accepted into everything right away, passed everything, got a job in an ICU in a hospital right away... you're looking at least four years of school, plus the one to two years of work experience (it's… [cont.]

What are some good colleges in California for someone looking into a profession in photography?
Q. Im a junior in high school and we have all these college reports coming up. I want to be a photographer and I was wondering what colleges would be good for someone looking for a profession like that. I'd like to stay in California so some colleges there would be great. I was thinking about UC Berkley or the San Francisco Art Institute? Help please! Thanks!

A. UC Berkeley and SFAI are both great choices. Ansel Adams founded the photography program at SFAI; Annie Leibovitz attended SFAI, although as a painting major, and is now huge in the photo industry. It really depends if you would like the "college" experience or the art school experience. If you are already a California resident, you could always attend a UC for undergrad & an art school for graduate school to save yourself a little bit of money. Photography is a very expensive choice between your supplies, equipment, and promotional materials. If you know you would rather go towards the commercial aspect such as weddings, fashion, etc. I would recommend going to a community college to build your portfolio and take several business,… [cont.]
