You can see the Export Bank Plaza from the corner. Another route. Go to the LRT Gil Puyat station. Take a jeepney with a guadalupe sign board. Go down at the corner of Pasong Tamo and Senator Gil Puyat Avenue. A few steps away is the Export Bank Plaza. Have a nice day !

A. At the street level there are jeepneys with "Guadalupe - Leveriza" signboard. If you are coming from Monumento, go down the second set stairs ( after the Gil Puyat Avenue ), then turn left - walk one block - the jeepneys in the corner ( along Gil Puyat Avenue ) The last stop / terminal of these jeepneys is the Guadalupe Commercial Complex.

Pls suggest -- cheap but OK dorm or pensione near Gil Puyat/Buendia Ave. in Makati City?
Q. Hi, Please help me. I am looking for a cheap (but decent) dorm/pensione/hostel within Gil Puyat/Buendia and Makati Avenue area... My daily room budget is Ps500 (maximum). Thank you. Jane I will be staying in Manila for a maximum of one week (maybe 4 days on first visit and 3 days on the second visit). My daily budget for accommodation is Ps 500, a total of Ps3,500 for one week. Thank you for the initial replies...
Asked by Ms. Jane - Wed Jan 2 04:00:54 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You said your DAILY budget is P500, that means P15,000 per month. With that you can rent a one-bedroom condominium unit. Ther are a couple of Cityland condos at the corner of Buendia and South Super. Some of these are not labeled Cityland, but Makati Executive Towers or something. You can rent cheaper, by renting a studio instead of a one-bedroom unit. That should go for P7,000 plus electricity and water. Negotitate with your agent that the monthly dues be for the account of the unit owner.

A. Either by taxi or by FX taxis. You can get an FX taxi along Quezon Blvd. in Quiapo plying the Buendia route. I don't know how much is the fare (my guest is PhP30). Just tell the driver that your destination is Buendia. After resolving your fare, sit back and watch out for your stop.

Super cheap accommodation in Metro Manila?
Q. My friend needs a place to stay for 3 nights in Makati/Pasay/G. Puyat area. He only wants to spend 500 pesos more or less per night. I couldn't find anything so far but then again, I don't really know the super-budget places in that area. Anyone got a recommendation? And please don't answer this if all you have to say is that my friend needs to raise his budget, that's not an answer that I need. Thank you. I totally appreciate the answers which I have given a good rating, especially the one which I'm gonna rate best. Everyone else with a bad rating, please do not get on people's nerves just because you want to earn points here! Try contacting the backpacker hostels from the link below, sadly none of them had prices on the site, and i dont have time to research further for you. ***update*** dorm fan aircon, 8 beds, individual locker, shared bath with hot and cold water Php 300.00*

Meaning of your child's name?
Q. I read in a magazine (here in Phils) that to have a unique or give more significance to your baby's name is to name him/her after a significant event, place whatever. We named our son Matteo Gil. Matteo is a derivative of Matthew - the 7th Heaven character of Barry Watson. Gil is for the location of our condo unit where he was conceived hehehe (Gil Puyat Avenue). What about yours?

A. I don t have any children, but if I ever did I wanted to name the girl Audrey Ella, and the boy Paul Eli. Audrey means Noble strength Ella means bright light Paul means Small; humble Eli means Ascend; my God My name is Amanda Michelle. Amanda means She who must be loved; Loveable Michelle means Who is like God? As far as significance goes, depending upon which parent you ask, Amanda either come from a Boston song, or a soap opera star from the 80s.

Which is the best place to rent?
Q. Which place should I choose? I have a few prospects were to rent a place: 1.) My own room without toilet and bath in a very old house that's falling apart, and where it gets super flooded. I can cook and there is wifi. Rate is 5K a month. No closet and have to bring my own bedsheet and pillow. Advantage is in Bautista St San Isidro (Gil Puyat) near Ayala where I work. No need to take a cab since jeepneys are 24 hrs. My shift ends at midnight every day. Not too keen about the neighborhood esp at night. 2.) My own room and t&b for 3K in the Fort near Bayani Road. No transpo late at night. Have to take a cab home every night. Safe neighborhood. No kitchen and no wifi. Owned by my friends family. 3.) 5K just at the back of Rockwell Centre… [cont.]

A. OPTION #2. It has more advantages. These are your basic priorities. 1. Cheap rental. 2. Safe neighborhood. 3. Owner is no longer a stranger to you. 4. Privacy. Own room with t&b. Option #3 is OK, only if you will not share the room. If you dont mind sharing the room, then this choice is also good. However, if the same pregnant lady will share the room with you after she delivered the baby, chances are, you wont ever get your good night's sleep becoz the newborn will cry almost every 2~3 hours in most cases. Imagine, its even more than you can bear... Present place #4 will just give you a lot of stress. Later on, you will regret staying that long. Go and find your own place of peace and a lot of privacy. Working long hours will… [cont.]
