Cosmetology VS aesthetics !?!?
Q. I've been trying to find a well I guess a career on the side meanwhile im in college. I looked into cosmetology and its around $18,000 for the whole course and looked around aesthetics and it cost around $11,000. So I guess my question is which one is better? And which one makes more $$$?? Oh and which one is in higher demand??. Becouse I need to pay for my own college but then again I don't want to be going to school and paying off a huge loan. (I do qualify for financial aid) and going to a community college I can pay all the tuiton and cost with financial aid while still payn off beauty school. I know its kinda hard to get but I need advice! So advice anyone??

Apparently I make too much to get a college grant. My friend drinks all day and doesnt work gets it all free?
Q. I only make 14,000 a year as a hairstylist I took out a 13,000 loan to do that. I wasn't even married then and still didn't qualify for any assistance. Now I want to go to a Community College but I am Married and do not qualify for any assistance of course, so id be in even more debt for school. I have a friend who waitresses here and there under the table, she drinks all day and cant hold a full time job because she is always calling in sick and hungover. She got to go to Cosmetology School for free and is now going to a Community College for free as well and even receives extra $$$ in Pell Grants. How is this even fair maybe my Husband and I should quit our jobs get on welfare and get it all for free. Yes I understand some people are… [cont.]

A. Its not fair at all. People who are trying the best they can should also get help no matter the income, but it just doesnt work that way. when was single i got all kinds of help too, but once i got married they took it all away, even though we are still struggling.

Bogus Biology the Pseudoscience - How do I let others know?
Q. I don't believe any claims of biology. I have my license in cosmetology so I feel qualified to comment on biology experiments published in peer reviewed science journals (especially those that only preach to other biologist). Do you think they will publish my articles or do you think I will have to start a non science journal with others that share my beliefs in order to get published. Of course I will call it a science magazine. How about COPPS, Constables on Patrol for Pseudoscience? To clear up some confusion for people I am talking about wanting my articles (rebuttals) published in the biology journals that published the original work. Also, for those that may have never seen a science journal despite claims of holding a PhD or other… [cont.]

A. How does cosmetology qualify you to make claims against biology? You should have left that part out because know one will take you seriously now after that statement. You dont believe ANY claims of biology??? Your articles better be ground breaking if you are going to debunk biology.

Academy of Art Makeup Courses?
Q. I have NO clue how college courses work. I do know that in order to take the M-A-C makeup program I must first be enrolled in a college for Makeup Artistry. In the list of qualifying colleges, it lists the Academy of Art. I've been on the AAU website and have looked at all the classes for makeup but am extremely confused as to what classes I would have to take. When you attend a normal cosmetology school they have one basic program that covers what u need to pass state board exams (hair, nails, esthetics etc.) How do I know what classes to take at AAU? I dont understand how the units work. Do I need to take a certain number of units, which classes do I take? I am talking about the M-A-C PRO student program. You have to a be enrolled in a… [cont.]

A. I'm assuming you want to learn how to do makeup at MAC. I guess I'm confused why you would need to be enrolled in a college course. But you maybe referring to a MAC pro program that I'm not aware of. I'm a ex employee of MAC and when I started I know very little about makeup. Really nothing. I used an angle brush in the crease area (LMBO!!) I digress. If you become an employee they give you a week training and the rest is up to you. I was told I was hired for my personality. With time and practice I've become a great makeup artist. Nothing that you're going to learn in a class I can tell you that. Especially not a cosmetology class. Talk with artist. If you can find a freelance artist to work under and mimic that would be your best bet. I… [cont.]
