From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. A question may be either a linguistic expression used to make a request for information, or else the request itself made by such an expression. This information is provided with an answer. Questions are normally put or asked using interrogative sentences. But they can also be put by imperative sentences, which normally express commands: "Tell me what 2 + 2 is"; conversely, some expressions, such as "Would you pass the butter?", have the grammatical form of questions but actually function as requests for action, not for answers. (A phrase such as this could, theoretically, also be viewed not merely as a request but as an observation of the other person's desire to comply with the request given.) From Wikipedia under the

Your mission is to ask only five questions of each candidate. Your questions are to address each candidate s ideological preferences and leadership. What are you five questions? And how would each one of these questions help you assess the leadership ability as well as the ideological preferences of the candidates. Q. I like Yahoo! Answers, but there are too many silly questions asked by pre-teens who spend way too much time on the Internet. (Most of the stuff they ask aren't really questions, or should be asked in person to their parents or a peer.) Those superfluously punctuated questions are distracting and take way too much time to skim through. Do you have any suggestions on how to screen those out when trying to find quality questions to answer? Also, most questions are pretty simple and can be answered if the asker chose to do a little internet research! It's not that hard. Asked by fern - Mon Feb 16 15:13:13 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. I suggest using the Advanced search option (click on "Advanced" next to the Search box). There are several filters to choose from, and there's one you can use to exclude certain words; if you know which words to put in the filter, you'll get rid of many of the "kiddie" questions. Also, if you observe YA, or your category of choice, for a while, you will see patterns such as a certain kind of questions being posted at a certain time (after school hours, for example). And lastly, get yourself some good Contacts. I often find interesting Qs because my Contacts star them. Answered by Calimecita - Mon Feb 16 15:29:52 2009 From Yahoo Answer Search: "questions" |
