What are some religious reasons for doing any form of body modification?
Q. Im doing a research paper on body modification. One of the reasons I am listing for doing body mod is religion. What are some reasons you have heard of (sources appreciated as this is a paper in MLA format) and even if it's your own reasons (as I can use you as a source) :] Other reasons can include cosmetic and popularity.

A. Well I'm a Sunni Muslim, but I know Shias hit themselves and stuff because their religious leader suffered and they want to feel that pain. But moderate ones only lightly slap themselves, extremists whip and cut and walk on hot fire slooowly. I hope this helped, have a nice day and good luck on your paper.
