How can we raise money to build a recreation center for adults with dev.disabilities at our nonprofit daycare?
Q. We need to raise money for the construction of a recreation center to add on to our growing Adult daycare for adults with developmental disabilities. We are a nonprofit agency on a very small budget. We need more space because we are the only adult daycare of this type in OKC.
Asked by TNJ - Mon Dec 18 18:40:25 2006 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. As well as the usual fundraisers try approaching the local businesses for a donation. I would write a letter in the first instance and then follow up with a phone call about a week later, youhave to be committed to get the money. I would also enlist the help of the local paper and see what donations you get froma story written in the local paper, especially mentioning that you are enlisting the help of local businesses :-) good luck!

Do women make recreation and leisure possilbe for men and how?
Q. I need both sides, whether you think women do or don't make recreation possible for men.
Asked by Lara M - Mon Nov 12 11:56:43 2007 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Speaking personally, I make leisure and recreation time for my husband, even if I don't participate. For example, we have horses and do a lot of trail riding. However, I cannot always go, but I don not try to stop my husband from going. I encourage him to go. He works hard and deserves to have some fun. If there's a basketball game on and he wants to watch it, I tell him to go ahead or encourage him to hang out with his friends and watch it. I know there are many women out there who are insecure with themselves and with their relationships who make it difficult for their men to ever have fun or just relax. If these men choose to stay with these women, then they are implying that it's okay for the women to act that way.

A. You might want to try something creative, like drawing, painting, or writing. No matter how bad you think you are, you can still enjoy it! It's a great way to get your ideas flowing and express your emotions.

What is a good website to find group recreation games that are outdoors and are fun for college students?
Q. I am in charge of recreation for the Baptist Collegiate Ministries event for freshmen on the first weekend after school and I am having some trouble coming up with games that go along with our theme which is "Warrior". Can anyone give me some ideas? They can be messy games.

A. Hmmm. "Warrior", hm? I like Cooperative Games for big groups like yours--could your warriors win by cooperating with one another? Here are sites with some ideas for you: i was a religious educator and a scout leader and these games always worked better than I expected them to. The groups liked competing against the task, instead of against one another, if you understand my meaning. They worked and played hard to beat the clock or to achieve the desired goal. Good luck to you with your warriors.

Whats the Difference between recreation and underground on xbox live?
Q. I have been playing Xbox 360 live for a while now, and i see some gamertags have underground and some recreation, whats the difference, can someone explain,
Asked by Pit Bull - Tue Sep 4 05:45:51 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. That's a user selected gamer zone. Quote from x-box official website: "Gamer Zone Your Gamer Zone is something you select yourself. Your initial choices fall into four categories: the Recreation zone, where casual gamers thrive; the Family zone, where parents and younger gamers alike can enjoy family-friendly gaming; the Pro zone, a place for hardcore gamers who don't want to deal with lame griefers; and the Underground zone, where anything goes (and where Family zone gamers probably don't want to go, if you catch my drift)." So basically you pick who and what type of people you will be matched up with.

Which recreation tourism areas of the US have good economic stability now or in the near future?
Q. We are considering relocating ourselves & biz which are well adapted to such areas: highdef video production, guide services, etc. We are in AZ, not interested in Colorado or winter sports. We know photography, video prospecting & nature expeditions well. What areas best for 60 year old disabled veteran & wife?
Asked by Amethyst Rancher - Sat Sep 22 00:35:45 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You can come to Wisconsin. My ancestors came here more than a hundred years ago and hasn't left the state since (though I'm itching to leave) There are plenty of photography opportunities. Nature is also a very big thing here and we have hiking trails as well as a special park where kids go to learn about the wilderness and how to tell if an animal has been in an area by the "scratching" on a tree. I'm more of the high energy type, so my husband and I are thinking of moving down to Florida. The economy here is great. Weather-wise, we don't have extreme weather and you can go for a stroll or shopping in a tornadoe since it's just stronger wind but nothing major. Good luck!

What are some Christian Based Family Recreation Places to visit in the USA?
Q. I was searching in the internet and read about the Precious Moments Park located in Missuri. It sounds as a great way to spend a good time with the family. Because of this, is that I started wondering if there are other paces such as this one here in the U.S. We are already planning to visit the Precious Moment Chapel this spring! We want to go to a place where we can appreciate christian related activities! (FYI: I am not interested in summer camps in particular)

A. Not exactly what you're after, but I suspect Dollywood would be up your alley- its family oriented and rooted in 'traditional' values. A better idea would be to go to our wonderful National parks and appreciate the world's beauty. Your family can have what ever devotional activities you feel appropriate to the moment, and it will be a much more genuine experience than going to what amounts to an amusement park.

A. If you are already a hunter and shooter, you are in pretty good condition. I suggest you join a shooting club, the NRA, and your State Rifle & Pistol Association. Get your Dad to do the same and then pester him into purchasing an M-1 Garand through the Civilian Marksmanship Program. Use it to compete in CMP matches at your rifle club. You will learn to shoot out to 500 or 600 meters. That is what sets the Marine rifleman appart, marksmanship. If you are not already and experienced shooter, the same advise holds, with one big change. Before you start with the M-1 Garand, get a good quality .22 LR rifle, preferably a bolt-action or lever-action, and learn the basics of gunhandling, sight picture, and trigger control.
