She dances 'on pointe' and told me they perform all over and never know what type of flooring they will have to perform on. Last week she fell on a slippy floor and thinks it may be because she didn't have roisin for her shoes. Also in the photos she sent me I see there is 'fake snow' all over the stage, isn't this dangerous? Asked by shandyclover - Sat Dec 20 02:49:51 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. I would like to start out by saying that dancing on pointe is dangerous, regardless of where or when you do it and what type of facilities you have. Good teachers will help students to develop the muscles in their feet, ankles and legs to protect themselves from injury as much as possible, but be realistic. Most of what ballet requires the body to do is outside of what the body SHOULD do. As we continue to gain knowledge in the kinesiological field and apply them to dance we can train our bodies more efficiently, but dancers will get injured. It is inevitable. She should have rosin on hand for her pointe shoes. However, sometimes you just don't have it. If the company/charity she is dancing for doesn't supply it then she should get… [cont.] Answered by Katie B - Sat Dec 20 03:48:58 2008 why is crying regarded as such a special reaction to certain emotions?
Q. people say crying makes a person human. well of course it does because crying is a natural reaction we have in certain situations. dont get me wrong, i am actually a sensitive person and in a way i do understand the beauty of crying because it is the act of succumbing to emotions that are so strong. vulnerability is present. but then my logical brain says so what? laughter is also a reaction like crying except it usually is provoked by happiness. i just want some opinions... im sorry if ive confused you. thanks. Asked by cyanideandcynicism - Mon Apr 28 00:19:44 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. I think crying is regarded as "special" in certain contexts because it really shows a person's vulnerability to their emotions. Even the most masculine guys or stiff adults cry sometimes because they are so moved. This uncharacteristic and uncommon act really brings other people to sympathize with them and makes them seem more "human" in the sense that they are also affected by emotions just like everyone else. For sensitive people, like you and me (I cry even in cheesy movies :'(...), it's not so special, but for those who don't really show their emotions much or seem superhuman strong or powerful it's unusual so it is a special reaction.
