How would you genetically engineer a virus that targets only religious people?
Q. What are some behaviors and attributes that only religious people have and non-religious people don t have? How about releasing a very slow progressing virus into every church, mosque, synagogue and temple in the world? Would that eventually infect only the religious people in the world?

Question for religious people: How do you feel about Atheists?
Q. Not necessarily for extremely religious people, just any non-atheists. What are you feelings towards Atheists? I mean this in all aspects. Do you think Atheists are rude, ignorant people? In other words, what is the general Atheist stereotype?

A. I have no feelings towards atheists in general. They are all different, you see. There are some who I love dearly and there are some who I would like to boil in a vat of acid.

What are your arguments against atheists or religious people?
Q. Religious people: Why are you religious? Were you brought up that way, or did you chose to become religious? Atheists: Why are you an atheist? Were you brought up that way? I am actually an atheist, but I find religions interesting.

What do the religious people think about mars having water on it in the past and even possibly today?
Q. As we explore more and more and keep understanding the truth, what do you religious people feel about carbon dating ( literal proof that this planet is millions of years old), and new discoveries of planets having evidence of liquid existing on it in the past or even quite possibly today, and the recent new finding of a planet very similar to ours in our solar system beyond pluto? What will it take to show some of you guys that this universe is entirely more complicated than talking snakes and apples and the whole gay gig?

A. You are so wrong to lump all people with any faith into the same category. And you are so wrong to attempt to criticize something that you obviously know nothing about. I am very religious and I believe that the earth is millions of years old. There is nothing in the Bible that says that one day is 24 hours to the Lord but it does say that time does NOT pass the same for Him as it does for us. One day could easily have been millions of years to us. And what is this gay gig you refer to? Get your facts straight before you chastise the rest of the population.

Can the mere presence of non-religious people help religious people break free of their delusions?

Why do many religious people dislike the idea of people questioning god and his actions?
Q. It seems to me that many religious people try to forbid people from questioning god. I'm talking specifically about the concept of god, what he dos or does not do and his actions. Further more it seems to me that religious people just want everyone to blindly accept what god does and does not do. What do you think?

Why are agnostics and atheists more virtuous than religious people?

Does this mean that agnostics and atheists are more virtuous than religious people? Definition of virtue - the quality of doing what is right and avoiding what is wrong Men must have the courage to express themselves. The development of a race of superior men will be achieved by the development of men who act in all respects according to reason.

A. I think there are religious people who are good, and religious people who are bad. There are non-religious people who are good, and non-religious people who are bad. As to whether or not religious people have a higher or lower percentage of virtuous people than non-religious people - that's difficult to say. I would say that, as a whole, if you chose one person from a pool of "religious people" (people who actively go to church or study their religion on a regular basis... not just people who 'believe' something without actively doing anything) and chose one person from a pool of "non-religious people" (everyone else not in the first group) - you're more likely to find a virtuous person in the religious group. But, I would also say… [cont.]

How come so many people are religious, practice their religion faithfully and go to church?
Q. But turn around and be rude and spiteful to others. Alot of people are nice but on the other hand some of the meanest people I have ever met are religious people who are two faced and treat their families badly. Why can't everyone just get along???
Asked by neenermm1 - Sun Jan 25 17:06:02 2009 - - 4 Answers - 1 Comments

A. If they practiced their religion they wouldn't be rude, spiteful, and mean or hypocritical. If you think they are bad now, you should have seen them before God got a hold of them. A church is not a memorial to the saints, but a hospital for the sinners. A lot of people draw near to God with their lips, but their hearts are far from Him. That is because they haven't really had a conversion in their hearts. They have just accepted the philosophies of men, mingled with scripture. When they really have been converted their hearts are changed and they do become good, loving men. Many try to appear so tto men, with hearts in heaven, while trying to maintain a summer home in hell.

Describe religious observances or practices of the people in Australia?
Q. I am working on a project on Australia and I need to describe religious observances or practices of the people in Australia. Please help? Thanks.
Asked by braundydunn - Tue Jul 1 19:06:48 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. It's the same here as anywhere else, for people who follow a religion. The observance of religion, which ever one you choose, (is universal) it doesn't really change no matter where in the world you go. For example this is what Christians would do: Christians usually go to the church of their choice on Sunday morning or sometimes on a Saturday evening. Here in Australia we have people who practice religions from all across the world. We also have many like me who don't practice any religion. Edit: I replaced the word universal with the definition of the word I that intended and that is - universal - of worldwide scope, applicable everywhere. It hadn't occurred to me some people may interpret it differently, as iansand9 did. That… [cont.]

To strongly religious people: would you ever consider a different truth?
Q. I know that organized-religious people strongly believe they are right and others are wrong. Would you ever consider that your organized religion is incorrect? Why or why not? How do you know you're right? I personally have no clue about what is right and what is wrong. I don't believe in organized religion, but I am not saying that I am not open to believing in it. I do think there is a god (not organized, just some sort of divine being). I feel it is important to open your heart to any possible truth. What do you think?

A. Are you telling me that those not of faith do not hold their views on the matter with any less tenacity? Were I not to believe my faith to be correct, I would not follow it. It isn't even a matter of "it makes me feel good". Sometimes it does not. Sometimes it can be a pain. Nonetheless, it makes little sense to follow something if you did not believe it to be true. Will something come along to make me drop my faith and pursue something else? I highly doubt it, but I try not to talk in absolutes.

Are the religious people just trying to take over Hollywood from the gay people?
Q. A lot of religous people have been moving into California over the past few years (at least that's what my friend from California says). Why do the religious people want to live where all the gay people are? Are there some studies that show that we're going to have to sit through more Mel Gibson movies now?
Asked by FoxyKev - Thu Nov 13 18:07:38 2008 - - 20 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Your question surmises some stereotypes. Perhaps just your friend is feeling an influx of religious people in his area, whereas the overall numbers for the state may be different. You can find statistics here, separated by county: According to you are correct that California has the reportedly highest gay population in the United States, although the margin compared to other states with higher gay populations, such as Florida and New York, is possibly less than a single percentage point. It would take a massive influx of religious folk to offset the traditional Democratic leanings of California. Either that or a few generations of breeding, at which religious people are definitely advantaged. Fortunately, nobody is required to… [cont.]

Why cant we use the unity which people have in religion to defeat religious wars?
Q. Today, there is nothing in this world which can unify people for a goal other than religion. Good or bad , they still unite. Why dont we create a new religion and scrap the present ones? This new religion should be inspired from the biggest ones like christianity or hinduism to even the smallest religions/ faith. Will we achieve religious unity then?
Asked by well wisher - Tue Jul 21 09:26:42 2009 - - 10 Answers - 0 Comments

A. First of all I am nor sure your assessment is right. I do not see that much unity even within the same religions, just look at the different branches of Judaism, Christianity and Islam, they usually hate each other more, than they do hate other religions. Besides you can unite a small or even larger group of people around any egoistic, selfish project, if all of them aspire for it, just look at sports, music, fashion, movies, or even politics. But none of these would be suitable to unite humanity as a whole. We humans are too selfish and self centered to make compromises and unite unless we really have to. But we might do it for our survival. Humanity slowly starts to understand that we live in a global world, and in this global world we… [cont.]

Q. I am in no way suggesting that all religious people do this. But do you get bothered when you hear of people praying for things like promotions at work, raises, or their favorite TV show to get renewed?
