How are acrylic nails removed at nail salons?
Q. I have acrylic nails and they are at a point where they need to either be refilled or removed. Last time I went to a nail place to have them removed some chinese guy just shoved another fake nail under the acrylic and literally ripped them off!!! Is this what they are supposed to do professionally? It wasn't pleasant. And I paid for someone to rip my nails off!! I had tried removing them at home, soaking them in acetone but they never would come off. Any advice on the ones i have now?

A. at the one I go to the soak your fingers in Acetone(it's just like nail polish remover) for a while, then file them down, soak agian, file again and then they pop right off. Trim them down real short and soak them in acetone. Then try to wiggle them loose a bit. Then soak again until they come off. That's the only thing I can thing of today besides popping them off with your teeth, which can be painful

How can I remove adhesive left behind when duct tape has been removed from a vinyl surface?
Q. The vinyl surface was a broken glove compartment door which was held in place by strips of duct tape for over 2 years. I was given the car and replaced the lock, so the glove box door is now closed, but there are strips of adhesive left behind by the duct tape I just removed. I tried nail polish remover but that didn't work. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks very much.

What bolts need to be removed to get the hvac housing off a 2001 dodge ram 1500?
Q. I have removed every visible bolt from under the hood and under the dash. I have removed the bracket in the middle floor board on the airbag computer. I have detached all lines that run into the hvac housing, but the housing will not move! Are there any on the driver's side that need removed? Any bolts anywhere? Any help would be greatly appreciated. The heater core. But, nevermind I found the damn thing hidden behind a plate that mounts the three relays.

How can the gallbladder be removed without losing an essential part of the digestive system?
Q. I've heard that the gallbladder can be removed and, while some people can't eat foods high in fat afterwards without pain and/or vomiting, sometimes it doesn't effect the level of fat intake of a person. But how could a person eat any fat at all if the gallbladder is removed? Does the surgery involve rerouting bile from the liver or is there another substance that breaks down fatty substances?
Asked by ja quee - Wed Aug 1 06:44:02 2007 - - 3 Answers - 1 Comments
A. What happens normally is that when we are fasting, the gall bladder fills up with bile which comes from the liver. It concentrates the bile by absorbing some of the water from it. When we eat, particularly a fatty meal, the gall bladder empties and releases the stored bile into the small intestine where it helps to digest the fats in the meal. When the gall bladder is removed, there is a continuous flow of bile into the small intestine instead of a large volume after a meal. This does not normally have much of an effect on digestion and in any case it would probably do you good if you don't completely digest the fat in your food.

Why do some breeds have their dew claws removed and others do not?
Q. Is it a breed standard to have them removed in some breeds or is it a choice made by the breeder? I'm just curios because my lab had his removed when he was a pup, but my parent's GSD's have theirs intact. Although their oldest has gotten his poor dewclaw snagged and infected a couple times. Poor guy! What is the reason for leaving them intact on some breeds but having them removed on others?

A. Almost all breeds of dogs have their dewclaws removed early because they get snagged and tear easily, as you've noticed. Getting them removed later is major surgery, but with puppies it's simple and relatively painless. Removing dewclaws is a choice a breeder makes early, but for most dogs, it's a procedure that prevents pain and infection later in life. GSDs usually have their dewclaws removed, but some breeders do leave them on. However, there are certain breeds like the Great Pyrenees that are born with what are called "double dewclaws." These breeds are usually primitive, very old, and much more closely related to wolves. The double dewclaws are much stronger than most dog's single dewclaws and are required in the breed standard, so… [cont.]

A. If the catalog number is available. This helps. If you are concerned about junk mail this really works! -- Put the mailing back into the reply envelope. On the form you fill out just put that you need removed from their list. You can also do a return to sender on unopened envelopes and write above your address to remove from their mailing list.

A. If you look under the "Answer Question" button, there is a Report Abuse button...click on that and state why you think the question should be removed. I agree there are many questions that are not safe or appropriate and should be reported. If the question is not removed by Yahoo Answers, then there is little you can do but leave an answer that explains your feelings.

A. if it was a very new one you might have a slight chance, but if it has been there a while it will mostlikely crack. the only way it can be saved is if it was only mounted with screws, sometimes plumbers use liquid nails to secure them.

What happens after the gallbladder is removed?
Q. Once the gallbladder is removed, what happens to the bile? Where is it stored or does it run freely throughout the body? Or, is there some type of device placed inside the body to act as the gallbladder?
Asked by Ri-Ri - Mon Oct 6 20:27:35 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Post gallbladder removal, bile simply runs in a continuous stream from the liver into the intestines. It's not as concentrated as bile from a gallbladder, but is more dilute. The body gradually adjusts and one can eat normally again in a few weeks.

So on the bright side she doesnt have to wear a bag forever... on the downside she does have to go to the bathroom after almost every meal.
