How to right a roman numeral converter in VB?
Q. I just want to write a Vb case statement to right a converter to convert hru 10 to thier numeral version to roman numeral say 1 = I 2 = II and so on.
Asked by Casper - Thu Oct 16 13:25:43 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. if numbers are from 1 to 10 the best option is to build two arrays, one string one byte or integer with the respective data, then use the array indexes to access equivalent data for the selected roman entry, depending what version you are using you may use a find() method to lookup the respective index of an array element.

How can i convert arabic number to roman numeral by using loop or if statement?
Q. How can i convert arabic number to roman numeral by using loop or if statement? using C# programming. please give specific example so i understand better.
Asked by redlion - Thu Jun 25 16:45:25 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Actually there are Numeric or Math APIs available to do this for you. Basically, you take the arabic value to the left and check to see if it is at-least the highest Roman value. If true, then place the Roman symbol to the computed variable. Keep doing this until you have gotten all arabic places.

Q. If I had an ionic compound with a metal such as lead, which is not a transition metal, would I use a roman numeral to indicate the charge? A. If you're in vista click the orb and look for "charmap" without quotes and you'll be able to find it. if you're in xp then start>run and type "charmap" again, withouth the quotes. Short for character map, has hundreds of listings.

Why is it that roman numeral clocks sometimes use four I's for 4 and not IV?
Q. I've seen some roman numeral clocks and they use four lines for 4 and not IV... though some DO use IV. Anyone know how this came to be?
Asked by solannshiin - Wed Oct 14 15:02:17 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Systemic preference! The numbers 1-4 all begin with "I" The numbers 5-9 all begin with "V" The numbers 10-19 all begin with "X" The numbers 20-29 all begin with "XX" etc. This system made sequential sense in Roman numerology. However, along came our modern revision for lowering the number of characters on the clockface. In an age fast approaching "digital", the powers that be in clock making decided it should be so. Either way is correct and should be lived with. There is always more than one way to communicate an idea or concept.
