scars - Does anyone have a remedy for mixed race people who tend to scar easily and permanently?
Q. I am mixed race and scar very easily. I have recently fallen and have managed to gain another scar on my leg which is very prominent. I have been using boots scars reducing tissues which have kept this scar tissue area from being raised but I wondered if anyone had any remedies to lighten this area because its appearance is quite obvious and I am very self conscious about it. Can anyone help me please?

A. injury to body, healing scar and total cure are part of natural immunity of human body. if any injury takes more healing time, better see a physician for investigation of blood grouping, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, wbc and rbs, coagulation time, etc.

How can I get rid of scars without buying tubes and tubes of scar-fixing cream?
Q. I have a bunch of old scars from poison ivy, bug bites, knee scrapes, etc on my legs. I have bought scar removing or at least diminish creams in the past, but they haven't done much. Is there something else I could do? Perhaps a home remedy or something? Or is there a cream that works within the first few uses?
Asked by ladeda - Sun Jul 6 21:46:28 2008 - - 6 Answers - 1 Comments
A. It takes at least six months of using a scar minimizing cream four times per day in order to see serious results on old scars. Eight weeks for new scars, but even then I'd still use them. Still, they'd only be minimized, but if you looked closely they'd still be visible. I like Mederma. Arnica gel does amazing things rather quickly with bumps and bruises. Calendula helps with to smooth out scars. Either way you go, it's going to take dedication to consistently use the products you buy.

Is it possible to tattoo over scar tissue?
Q. I am planning on getting a tattoo, but the area of my body on which I plan to get it is heavily scarred in places due to a mis-spent youth. I was just wondering: a) is it possible to tattoo over scar tissue? & b) does the scarring adversely affect the look of the tattoo in any way?
Asked by maclay619 - Mon Apr 9 16:17:09 2007 - - 10 Answers - 1 Comments
A. it is possible to tattoo over scars but depending on how the scar is (raised, smooth, darkly colored, jagged etc) it may or may not come out looking like the rest of the skin. also i wouldn't just go to anybody to have it done. i would only trust a extremely talented artist to tatoo over a scar because as i understand it the texture of the skin is different and somewhat more difficult to tattoo over. the best thing you can do is to consult an artist. good luck!

What is an effective scar treatment for a minor burn?
Q. A couple of months ago I accidentally burned the tip of my nose on a 100w light bulb. It healed pretty quickly but there is an unsightly scar left over. I've tried Scar Zone cream and straight vitamin E to reduce its appearance, but neither seems to have worked very well. If anyone knows of a product or other treatment that might get rid of the scar, please let me know.

Scar removal treatment that gets rid of acne scars the best?
Q. I have a scar removal gel that works GREAT for my stretch marks and other scars, but I've yet to see this dramatic or any improvement in my acne scars. They're mostly on my forehead and some on my chin. They're raised, not indented, if that means anything. I don't mind spending a little more money or waiting a month or to for a quality product that WORKS. Would rather not have any procedures or surgeries, but I'll keep an open mind. Thanks!

A. Steph ! # pply sandalwood paste with rosewater and leave it overnight over the scars. You can even apply a mixture of sandalwood paste and black gram paste. # For dark acne scars use lemon juice. Before applying, clean the scars with warm water and dab 1 tsp of lemon juice into a cotton ball and apply it on the scars and leave it for 10-15 minutes. Make sure to apply sunscreen prior to going out in the sun as lemon juice makes your skin photosensitive. # Cucumber with lemon juice or honey with lemon juice also helps. Honey also helps for chicken pox scars. However people with oily skin should avoid the use of honey. for more visit

How do I get rid of the scar tissue on my tongue?
Q. Well, I got my tongue pierced about 3 weeks ago and in front of my piercing is this little tiny hard piece of scar tissue, I mean it isn't that annoying but is there anyway I can make it go away? I tried brushing it with a toothbrush and it got a little swollen for a while and went back to its same size. Will it go away naturally or what? Thanks. There is no way I am going to take out my tongue piercing so I am going to trust the girl who said she had one but it goes away. Plus I looked online for some information while I was waiting for these answers and I saw one little thing about scar tissue and it said that just because you take out the jewelry doesn't mean that it will just disapeer. But anyways, Thanks for the answers I do… [cont.]

A. guague your jewelry up.stretching the tissue with remove the scar tissue without much hassle and you can always shrink it back down when youre done if you dont want to keep the larger guage. See a professional piercer just incase this might be a problem.

How long does scar diminishing cream take to work?
Q. I have some small scars on my legs from either cuts or large mosquito bites. Yesterday I started using Scar Zone scar diminishing cream. About how long does it take for it to make the scars fade if used twice a day?

A. your whole life. Scar creams are a scam as old as creams. If you want scars removed you'll need a plastic surgeon. In the meantime I suggest nylons.

How bad does the skin scar after removing a facial piercing?
Q. I would really like to get my monroe pierced, but I know a few years from now I'll probably want to take it out and I don't want there to be a very noticeable scar on my face for the rest of my life. Can anyone tell me how bad their skin scarred after removing their facial piercing?

A. Well facial piercings don't really scar that much. You may be left with a small mark but it probably won't be big or very noticeable. They heal up pretty well.

A. Buy a boottle of Vitamin E Oil. It's cheap, so you can get the 56,000 units (the more units the better it is) and apply faithfully every day. Apply at least twice a day and 3 or 4 times if possible. It will take a while, but you've lived with it this long. Just try to get the pure kind that has no other oils combined with it. If it is not thick, it usually has safflower oil in it and that weakens it because it's just another softening additive. It's about $3 to $5 at Walmart or any drugstore.

How do I get rid of a severe nickel rash scar on my stomach?
Q. I've had a nickel rash scar right where my belt would sit for over 2 years now. That area is now turned a blackish color and also I think I scratched some of the skin off so it's pink. It only itches when I sweat in that area. I just don't what to do. I want to know, if any store bought products will get rid of the scar or will I have to get a surgically removed? Like maybe mederma. But since some of the skin is gone, I don't know if there's a way to grow new skin? I don't even know if a surgical procedure like that even exists. I know most will answer with "go see a doctor" but I want to see what I can do on my own before I resort to that so please don't respond if that's your answer. Thanks for reading. It's healed. I know that… [cont.]

A. I've been using Vitamin E oil and it really has faded any scars or spots I have had on my body. Try getting one with 12,000 iu (international units) or higher the higher the iu the faster it'll work but use a lower iu if your going to be putting on your face. Buy the capsules and open them yourself to retain the oil or buy vitamin e oil at walgreens, cvs,or target. I just got mine at target on sale for 5 bucks and it last a long time.

If I used regular scar removing cream on the acne scars on my face would it work to remove them?
Q. I've recently gotten my breakouts to stop, making my acne scars more visible. I can mostly cover them up with makeup but i'd rather just get rid of the scars. So if I used regular scar removing cream (like the stuff you can get at a drug store) would it help to remove (or lighten) my scars? By the way I used tree oil mixed with witch hazel, it got rid of my breakouts within a few days.

A. I think they could help but I also think there is a difference in a scar from a surgry on your knee and an acne scar. If you already haven't bought or already have some scar removing cream instead I would recommend getting the Zenmed scar kit. Its formulated specificaly for Acne scars and also I love that its all natural. Also it doesn't hurt that they give you a 60 day money back guarantee :) Also have you tried some home remedies? In most cases depending on your personal situation they also might help reduce the redness. You could try some from: Or Good Luck, M

How do i treat my the battle scar of my goldfish?
Q. Help please! Im new to posting questions. I asked a previous question of why there is a red mark on my goldfish, and was told it could be a battle scar as my fish have been fighting (i have 3). I was told to treat the scar to prevent infection, how do i do this?
Asked by loopy_suf - Sun Dec 3 17:44:32 2006 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. First, quarrantine the injured fish as the others will continue attacking it, potentially making the wound worse. Set up a small hospital tank to allow the fish to heal. Put in a little stresszyme to calm the stressed fish and add a tablet of general cure. This can be purchased anywhere where fish are sold and it works to cure almost anything.

Q. will the skin just grow back and leave no scar? This is for my 5yr old who got scratched by another kid.

A. Any damage to the skin, from a severe sunburn to a scrape, can potentially scar. I had a scar on my hand from a scrape that hardly bled for years and years. The faster the wound heals, the less the scarring will be. Keep the cut clean and regularly apply products like Neosporin. Not only does the Neosporin keep the cut from getting inflected, it keeps the cut moist in the beginning of the healing process. That moisture is critical for preventing scarring later on down the line. Getting the Neosporin that contains Vitamin E, or just breaking open a vitamin E capsule and rubbing it gently onto the wound, will also encourage fast, scar-less healing. Of course, tell him not to pick at it. Picking at it and breaking it back open will cause… [cont.]
