How to enter in schedule D stocks that I have not sold at the end of the tax year?
Q. Would it be ok to enter them into the this year's tax report and omit them from last year's? Would IRS be OK with a printout of my broker's P/L statement rather than the official Schedule D or D1 form? I know I could make an excel file look like Schedule D1 but it would be less work this way and I think it is actually better formatted than their Schedule D.

A. You only report stock sales, not stocks that you still hold, and they must be reported in the year they are sold. They also want the info on their form, not in somebody else's format. If you attach a statement, it has to be in their format.

Q. I have a 3 month old little boy and I like to go places and get things done around the house etc... I am dying for him to get on a good sleeping schedule so I can plan my day a little better and finally finish things I start without worrying about my baby. When do babies start a good sleeping schedule? What can I do to help keep a strict sleeping schedule with out him crying when I put him down? Any suggestions would help tremendously! Thanks!

A. Hey Hun, I know you are probably a bit frustrated. My triplets are 4 1/2 months old. I was in the same situation as you. I had things around the house.. etc. that needed to get done. My triplets were finally on a good sleeping schedule by about 3 1/2-4 months. I just set our a schedule that worked & I put them down at the same time everyday, after a while, they finally got used to it & they sleep wonderful now. It takes time, be patient & it will get done. =) Good Luck!

What kind of housecleaning schedule do you keep?
Q. I'm in need of getting/being organized more about the house and I'd like to hear how others do it. Do you keep to a schedule of certain chores on certain days? Or do you break your day down into chores by the hour? Do you schedule in down time and breaks? I tried doing the flylady.net thing but couldn't seem to get off the ground. Help?
Asked by Saffire - Thu Feb 7 15:14:42 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. My routine is to do it as it needs to be done. Dishes at least once a day, rinse those that you wait until later to clean for quicker cleaning. I do spend about 1/2 hour before I go to bed putting things away that I didn't put away earlier. Like laundry I folded and left on dresser, sewing stuff, books I was reading or looking stuff up in...you get the picture. ALWAYS clean off and wipe off kitchen counters and table before bed. It's rewarding to wake up to a neat looking kitchen! Also, if you have kids, get them in the routine of putting things away just before bed, or at least tidying things up. That way, they will have a good habit that will stay with them and help them in their future. 21 days makes a habit, so they say.

What is the live taping schedule of Korea music shows? How can I attend the live shows?
Q. I will be go to Korea this coming October from Friday to Wednesday. Can someone give me the schedule of when the taping schedule of MBC Music Core, KBS Music bank, SBS Inkigayo, and Mnet countdown? I would like to attend one of these tapings. Moreover, if someone can give me details on how to obtain tickets. That would be great. I know one has to log in or call the company. Is this easy for a foreigner? Is all four shows by lottery?

A. Ok this is how you offically get in, When Music Bank, Inkigayo, ETC ends, a couple of minutes before it ends there will be a phone number, call that phone number(You might not get connected to the number becasue many people will call) If they don't answer your call, try again, if they do then you can go 100% After you call and get connected to the people they will tell you a reservation number, it differnet for all people, so right it DOWN! Then the day of the recording go to the SBS, KBS, MBC buildings where they tape it and before you go in employee's will check you for the number, if you get the number correct you are in!!! Also get to the building a couple of hours before

How do I schedule a task to begin at a set amount of time relative to startup?
Q. I know how to Schedule a Task on XP, but doing so only sets a task to a particular time of day. Instead, I want a task to consistently start up a few minutes after I turn on my system -- the time I turn it on is variable. Is this possible to do without downloading a separate program?
Asked by physics.nerd89 - Thu Jun 26 17:14:22 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Short answer -Nope. You could build this as a GUI pop-up with Visual basic, or C++ but if you had that background you'd pro'lly not be asking. I'm trying to figure the task you would want to run while your using your computer [tapping chin w/ finger] hhhmmm. Maybe better to schedule your task for the middle of the night if you leave your CPU on.

How do I make a golf schedule for a professional country club?
Q. I've been tasked to develop a a schedule of matches for a couples' golf league. There are eighteen couples that must play each other over the course of 17 weeks. I need to make this schedule keeping in mind that one of the couples are unsure if they will participate for the season and may cancel. How would I go about making this?
Asked by Lorenz - Mon Jan 28 00:49:49 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Just number the couples 1 through 18. Set up a grid where in the first week 1 plays 2, 3 plays 4, 5 plays 6 etc. In the second week move couple 18 to the top to play 1 and move everyone else down a rung 2 plays 3, 4 plays 5, 6 plays 7 etc and just keep moving down until they have all played each other. You can't determine the final schedule until you know if the unsure couple is in or out.

How far in advanced should you schedule a flight?
Q. I plan on traveling to Japan next summer. I was wondering how far in advanced should I schedule my flight? And when do you think is the latest I can schedule it?
Asked by oblivion1033 - Sun Jun 29 21:51:10 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You won't be able to buy tickets more than 330 days in advance, so be aware of that. I would schedule it as far in advance as possible - if fares go down most airlines will allow you to refare the ticket and you can get the remainder back as travel credit. If fares go up you're stuck - and with the way fuel prices are going up and airlines are cutting capacity it's tough to imagine fares would be headed down rather than up.

A. His schedule will varry depending on both of your needs. A child his age needs at least 2 naps a day. One about mid morning and another in the afternoon. 1- 1 and 1/2 hours each nap should be fine. You also want to make sure that he does not go to sleep with a bottle in his mouth. There are too many medical issues that make sleeping with a bottle not worth the risk of his crying some. 1 year old is a good time to start weaning from this habit if he does this. Don't take his bottle away completely just yet, but he should be drinking more out of a sippy cup and less the bottle now. Food needs to be cut up into tiny pieces that he can feed himself. No nuts or grapes and if you must give hot dogs make sure to cut them diagonal and not in… [cont.]

What does a typical monthly schedule look like for an American Eagle first officer reserve pilot?
Q. Do you work a week straight and then have five days off? Or is it generally more work four days get two off? I know to expect 11 days off a month. I just wanted to know a typical schedule and find out if the travel benefits can even really be used. It would be great if you could work several days in a row and get several days in a row off. That way you could actually use your travel benefits. I assuming this isn't the way it generally works though.
Asked by mdbida - Wed Apr 16 01:10:21 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. From knowing some regional pilots myself, a reserve pilot is basically the guy they call when the dispatched pilot gets sick or can otherwise not be on time to fly the plane. You are supposed to be at the airport anywhere from 20-40 minutes from the time dispatch calls. After doing this for a few months, you will most likely be put on the main F/O roster where you can choose your schedule. If you have questions, you probably should contact Eagle and they'll let you know.

Q. I am 13 years old 5'3 and 133 pounds and I want to get down to about 120-115 what is a good exercise schedule for me I want to have a list of them with details. And I want to lose it in maybe 3 weeks thanks.

A. There's no really such a thing as best exercise schedule for one to lose a pound or more. Its really on the person to find a time for him to do exercise, but for you, since you are too eager to lose weight on a matter of weeks. You should take seriously your exercise schedule if you want the best results, but don't get too exited on jumping up beyond your limit. Take things in a stride, there is time for everything. Your exercise must be on a gradual basis. You can workout twice a day, in the morning and in the night for faster result, but it also matters on the intensity you put on during the process.

What needs to be in it? Wake up to bedtime? school bus to eating you need to include it all. So make a list of everything that your child could possibly do in a days time. Wake, up hygiene, eat. medication, dress for school, 30 minutes of t.v. time and so on. Next what i would urge you to do is make it visual. What can be a good practice schedule for a high school student playing the violin?
Q. I am 14 years old and in 3rd Year High School (Philippines). I don't want to seem like I'm bragging or anything but I am an honor student so I have to study hard to maintain my grades. I usually study for 6 hours and maybe even more if there's a lot of homework. I'm equally passionate though on practicing my violin and considering on being a professional someday. If there is a schedule that you can suggest, I would really appreciate it. :)

A. You will find that practising an instrument actually helps with the ordeal of studying. 6 hours homework a day sounds like a lot - have you tried to find "shortcuts" so that you can do the same amount of work but in less time? I taught a boy who was studying piano at a very advanced level and he was able to fit all his practice into a one hour session every morning before school. That way, he didn't have to worry about it for the rest of the day. He appeared on television and everything so he certainly knew his stuff. If your parents are willing to sit with you during your practice session (at least initially) in order to keep you on track, that can help. Remember, it's not the amount, but the frequency, that matters.

How often does American Airlines update their AAdvantage flight schedule?
Q. I'm wondering if they update that schedule several times a day or just once a day. I just want to know if it makes sense to reload the schedule for the flight I want every hour to see if anything changes.

A. I don't know whether once an hour is necessary, but award availability can change at any time, so there isn't any harm in checking once a day or more. Note, though, that not all award availability can be seen on their website -- for flights on partner airlines, for example, you can call and get availability, as you won't be able to book it online.

How do I get my sleeping schedule back on track?
Q. Ever since Summer, I haven't been getting to bed til like 4 in the morning, and i sleep til at least 2 in the afternoon. I try and go to bed at like 9 or 10, but i just lay in bed, and get bored. Please help me get my sleeping schedule fixed.

A. Gradually bring yourself back to the normal time by going to bed 30 miutes earlier each night and then getting up after 7 or 8 hours (depending on the time you usually need). Your body should gradually get back into the right pattern. You might feel really tired whilst you're doing this if you're not getting the full amount of sleep you need. Make sure you're getting plenty of exercise and daylight as these help to promote serotonin which is a hormone that helps with sleep. Eat fresh food as that will help too. If it continues then there are other options too but that would be the first recommendation.

How can I get my sleeping schedule back on track?
Q. I take internet courses for school and lately have been staying up most of the night and sleeping until the late afternoon. I always get my eight hours, but I'm going to be starting a new job soon, and need to sleep at a decent time. What is a good way to get my sleeping schedule back on track, any ideas? I appreciate any helpful responses, thanks.

A. When changing your sleep schedule it's going to take several days. Start by knowing what time you will have to get up for your new job and subtract 8hrs from that. So if you need to get up at 6am, you'll need to go to sleep by 10 pm. Because you go to sleep later than that regularly start trying to go to sleep earlier each night. If you aren't sleepy, I suggest taking over the counter Melatonin. Melatonin is a natural product your body makes at night to help you sleep. If you do chose to use it, you must get at least 8hrs of sleep, otherwise you will be a complete zombie the next morning. Also keep your room dark and relatively noise free (unless you like a sound/noise machine). After about a week or 2 of this I can usually shift… [cont.]
