What are some issues about school zone safety?
Q. I'm doing a report on improving school zone safety. Can you name some issues and a suggestion to improve school zone safety? Thanks.
Asked by Meelz J - Sat Nov 8 22:04:26 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. yeah, school safety zones shouldn't be on durring times when kids are not entering or exiting in mass. If we really care about kids, we should build schools futher back from the road and fence them in. A overhead or bridge walkway should allow kids to cross roads without entering traffic, anything less is really saying a childs life is or isnt worth this amount of money.

Know any good school zone safety rhymes?
Q. At our elementary school we have trouble with jay walking and people not driving safely in the school zone. We have a new sign that will display very short messages and we are looking for some fun, educational, easy-to-remember school zone safety messages/rhymes for both the drivers and the kids.

A. BEWARE! Children. Drive safely! Speed kills, kill YOUR speed! Don't be a clown, SLOW down! Children stay alert, cars hurt! Be aware and realistic, don't become another statistic! BEWARE! Cars, don't become a statistic!

What is a good excuse for why I missed traffic safety school?
Q. I have court tomorrow morning because I missed the traffic safety school class I was supposed to attending for a speeding ticket I got in March. I really do not want this to go on my record or make my insurance rates go up. What can I tell them for why I missed the class? The real reason is that I only got an hour of sleep the night before & I was feeling a little sick (nothing serious, just some anxiety/depressed)...I coulda made it but was too lazy and didn't feel like going. But, I need a better excuse than that!

A. Don't lie. You can exaggerate, but never lie in such a situation. State you were up late with the flu, and when the alarm went off, you fell back to sleep. By the time you woke again, it was too late. Apologize, and ask the court to re-assign a date.

What would be a good workout for a higfh school freshman safety?
Q. I'm 15 and play Safety and a little bit Outside LB. I'm pretty much the best player on the team, but I still feel like I couldn't be one of the best in the States (I live in Austria). Does anyone have any good (specific) workout plans or exercises I could do to improve speed and explosiveness? Please help me.

A. Running up and down either stairs, hills, most likely anything with a high slope will get your legs stronger, to increase your speed.

Query about the health and safety in the labs at my school?
Q. I am in year 10 and in my science labs at school (I live in the UK), we often use harmful chemicals and sometimes even corrosive chemicals. After seeing some of the health and safety guidelines for labs in the US, I wonder: should we be wearing protective disposable gloves while handling these chemicals? We always use our bare hands: is that legal? Thanks. Could you also verify what kind of glove we should be using if so!
Asked by Master Chief - Sat Mar 29 08:10:55 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. the guide line must followed --not knowing only--also school authorities may not permit you to handle such a chemical of dangerous nature with out supervision--you must have your own protective armours

What are some ideas for a high school seat belt safety day? ?
Q. The only ideas I can find online are songs and kiddie games for little kids. I'm looking for ideas that are a little more appropriate for high school students. Statistics and pictures do not mean anything to my school mates, I know because for the past three years that's what we've done & no impact. We also pass out caution tape to other students and tell them to wear the caution tape like a seat belt for the whole day. Other students get involved, but some make a joke of it, like taking five cation tape strips and making a cape out of them. It's just frusterating trying to help my school with something that is not only dangerous not to wear a seat belt, but it's also illegal no to wear a seat belt.
Asked by megwithcaution - Wed Jan 21 13:38:36 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I think a great way to inform other students about the importance of seat belt safety is to provide statistics and facts that relate to reasons as to why seat belt restraint should be encouraged. Here are a few statistics you can add. * Failure to wear a seat belt contributes to more fatalities than any other single traffic safety-related behavior. 63% of people killed in accidents are not wearing seat belts. Wearing a seat belt use is still the single most effective thing we can do to save lives and reduce injuries on America's roadways. * If 90 percent of Americans buckle up, we will prevent more than 5,500 deaths and 132,000 injuries annually. * Seat belts are the most effective safety devices in vehicles today, estimated to save 9, [cont.]
