What time do you think school should start for high schoolers?
Q. I'm writing a paper for English and I need a survey. Please say what you think would be a reasonable time for high school to start in the morning and please include your age. Thank you!

A. In my opinion, I would suggest the time for school starting is 9:00. It's my personal experience because I find that I feel more comfortable and less tired. It makes me feel more energized. I'm typically not a morning person so an hour more would make a great difference. The recommended is 8:00 though.

Can you switch to homeschooling at any time during the school year?
Q. I really don't like my new school, so i was wondering if you could switch to homeschooling any time during the year, or if you had to wait till the end of the school year. Also, how long does the process of signing up take? Any information is accepted, and thank you for all of the help!

A. I know where I live I switched a week before semester testing. I was having serious medical problems though that caused me to miss too many days of school. So I would of failed semester tests and had to redo that whole semester. I wasn't guaranteed to make it through high school with the problems I was having. It turns out my next door neighbor was home schooled. My mom went up to the school got some paper work and filled it out. I turned in all my books and on the paper work my mother wrote the subjects I will be studding and for how long and what times. We had it all done within two days. I think you should ask your school councilor they will give you more information. Make sure you do not lose the paper work and you get your grades up… [cont.]

When is the best time to get pregnant during medical school studies?
Q. I am planning to get pregnant during my studies in medical school, as I will be too old by the time I finish. What medical year would be best to do this? First year? Second? I would think being pregnant during residency would be too much for both me and the baby. What are your thoughts?

A. It depends on what you mean by 'too old' - obviously there are people having kids when they are much older (though personally I think having kids at 60 is not really thinking of your children). Think about your reasons why before you plan this. I had my son midway through my degree program (unplanned pregnancy - hubby and I planned to wait until I had finished my degree), and I managed but it was extremely hard work and I was exhausted and overworked for two years of my life. I can't imagine life without my son - he was such a wonderful surprise! I do think that it made it all so much harder though. Think really hard about it before planning this - could you perhaps defer your degree for a year and have a child before you begin your… [cont.]
