Q. why is it that schools in warmer states such as arizona/california/florid a start school [high school] in early august and schools in cooler states such as new york start in early september? whats the reason? i was just wondering...

A. Schools in the warmer states are typically air conditioned and so despite the warm temperatures the students are comfortable. Schools in cooler states aren't always air conditioned and so they start later so that the students don't have to sit in school through the hottest part of the summer.
