A. It really depends based on the hours you work, seniority, position (i.e., conductor, engineer, or brakeman) and other factors but I believe as with most Class I train crews, wages begin somewhere around the $30k-40k mark annually (this figure does not factor in your retirement and benefits).

Maid service crew or one person cleaning lady?
Q. I am looking to hire someone to clean my home, more of a spring cleaning type of job since I am a stay at home mom and clean the house daily but need a good thourough clean. I have a 2 story 3200 sq. foot home with 5 bedrooms and 3 1/2 bathrooms. I have wood floors in the kitchen, hallway, nursery, and study that I would like hand cleaned (since it seems like when it is swept and mopped it is just pushed against the baseboards) and the same with the tile entry. Would you hire a cleaning service like Molly Maids that has 3 or 4 employees that do the job, or would you find a person that does cleaning on their own? I hired a service last year in a previous home and they were in and out in 2 hours with a 2 person crew. They missed so… [cont.]
Asked by MO - Mon Feb 4 13:22:33 2008 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You'll get a better job from hiring someone that does cleaning on their own but you may find it hard to find someone that is good that has the time to do a one time job like this. Most people that clean houses are looking for jobs that are on a regular basis but you never know they may have some time where they could do this job for you in blocks of time. Ask around, friends, neighbors and ask who they use that is the best way to find a good cleaning person.

Is my family the only crew that thinks AT&T 's wireless service is absolutely horrible?
Q. We have been with cingular for 15 years and the customer service and the inaccuracy in the billing, repeatedly month after month , has just been way too much drama. I was wondering if others were having problems??? I do thank you for your response. Although I must say that I have been over patient and friendly. And have no problem with speaking to an agent on the phone. The last 4 or 5 months has been absolute insanity. If you would care to hear my issue I will be glad to brief you. Are you interested?
Asked by porchpup552003 - Fri May 30 07:41:53 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. AT&T's customer service and billing, etc. is generally top notch --of course, there are exceptions to every rule ---sometimes when we try to conduct business on the phone, we might happen to get someone on the phone that we just can't click with ...and it's difficult to get anything accomplished satisfactorilly. AT&T wouldn't be/remain in business if poor customer service was the norm. If you have issues you haven't been able to get resolved ...visit a store location and ask them to help you get the issues resolved. AT&T has to be doing something right...or you wouldn't be with them for the time you have ;-) remember...Cingular took over AT&T on the wireless side --AT&T was simply a name change.

The crew of Air Force One and the Secret Service should be a good source of info about Presidents, right?
Q. They also can share some insights into the character of the First Ladies. Here's what some of them have to say: Air Force #1 & it's passengers..a must read, folks! you will find the secret service views on the personalities of past presidents to be quite interesting. For those who don't know... Capt. Denny Keast flies for UAL and flew many SAM's (Special Air Mission's) for the White House. *** I flew 4 Presidential support missions in the C-141 out of Dover AFB, DE.. Two for President Johnson and two for President Nixon. I have noticed this all my life. Otherwise I just want to say thank-you harryd for this info. I'm very impressed. But what is the UAL flown by Capt Keast? Navy air crew (AW) job after service?
Q. If I join the Navy as an AW air crew member, what kind of "civilian" job could that set me up for? Are there any related jobs on airlines and such?

A. As a former AW, there are any number of jobs !! Despite the frequent razzing we used to get from non-flying aviation ratings, we DO work. Now I will preface my words with the fact that I've heard news that the AW rating (Aviation Warfare Systems Operator) is changing... that ALL Aircrew will become AW's and that there will be sub-divisions of the AW rating. AW's after a single 6 year tour will have any number of skills AND inherent physical qualifications. Jobs I saw other AW's go into: Defence Industry (working on designing new gear) Teaching *Flight Attendant (I flew with Southwest Airlines for a year) Firefighting / EMT Police Airport Fuels *Aviation Operations with airlines *Aviation Maintenance (Helicopter AW's often qualify as… [cont.]

A. Assuming that you will "captain the boat, I'd have no more than 2 people per watch. Even at the size your thinking about, the boat will get small fast. Make sure that you make some short leg trips with your crew, before you commit to "circumnavigation"! that's assume! Good luck!
