Where can I find similac formula on sale?
Q. I'm trying to find out if anyone knows where similac advance formula in on sale this week. Thanks.

A. I couldn't find anywhere Similac was on sale at Supermarkets. You can try Babies R Us. They may still have the big 20% more can on sale. Other than that, I know many Targets have been putting their Similac Sensitive 20% more can of formula on clearance. 3 Targets near me have it for $16.10. Check out every Monday. They list the formula & diaper sales for the week and people write in with the sales in their area. Good Luck!

can i use similac ready to feed formula that was unopened, but stored in the refrigerator?
Q. I use the ready-made similac formula and have 5 extra in "storage" on my counter. This morning, my unopened storage of ready-made formula were accidentally placed into the refrigerator while I was out of the house. Can I still use them for my baby? He eats approx. 1 whole container a day ...so how many do you think I can use, if any?
Asked by aashleyp - Tue Mar 24 19:46:37 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It should tell you on the container, what temp is too low, and too high to store it in. I think it would be fine, I believe you can't store it in extreme temps, and I don't think a refrigerator would be considered extreme.

Does anyone know if you can use similac coupons on liquid formula too?
Q. I've only heard of people using Similac coupons on powdered formula, however, on the coupon itself, it states that you can use it on any similac formula. does that include liquid too? the reason I was asking I was going to buy the powdered formula, however, it was like $14 but the liquid was $5.36. So if that's right & we can use the coupon on liquid as well, then I can get the liquid for .36 cents (my coupon is for $5). Just curious. Thanks for responding.

A. You should be able to if it says it right on the coupon. If it were just for the powder, it would say "on any similace POWDER formula" or something of the like.

How long is similac advance formula good for?
Q. I'm giving my newborn similac advance powder formula. If my newborn only drinks half the bottle, how long is it good for? Can it be refridgerated? I've been dumping it, haven't been taking any chances, but just want to know how long can I leave it at room temp and save it for a little later?
Asked by Katelyn B - Thu Aug 21 22:54:25 2008 - - 9 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Once she starts drinking it she needs to drink it within an hour. If it is refrigerated without her drinking out of it then it is good for 24 hours. If she is always drinking half of it, why don't you make half of what you are making now? If you need more it doesn't take much to make more. I would rather have to make more than throw half a bottle away.

A. standard formulas standard formulas are those that are tolerated by most infants. Infants with special digestive needs require special formulas. Here are some guidelines on how standard formulas differ and how to match the formula to your baby's needs. Comparing proteins. In looking at the protein content of the big three brands (Similac , Enfamil, and Carnation), you will notice the main difference is in the whey/casein ratio. In recent years there seems to be a whey war going on among formula makers, and each company has its own semi-scientific rationale as to why their product is best. Carnation contains 100 percent whey, claiming that the cow's milk casein used in other brands, unlike the casein in human milk, forms difficult-to-dig [cont.]

Where can I sign up to recieve coupons or checks to buy Similac Infant Advanced Formula?
Q. I recieve coupons, checks, and samples of Emfamil baby formula all the time but my Daughter does not drink that formula. So I normally just give it all away. I already signed up on the Similac website a couple of months ago and have not recieved anything from them. Is there anywhere else I should be signing up to recieve these coupons and checks? Formula is way to expensive every little bit helps. I cant use the generics. I tried that and it made my daughter have alot of colic. Similac has been the only thing to really help out.

A. We easily save $100 per month. In fact, when our children were in diapers, we never bought a baby-related item with anything less than a $3 coupon. We only use coupons for items we regularly buy unless it is a full-price coupon, which makes it free. While we use coupons for all of our shopping, we rarely use online coupons because the newspaper coupons are much more valuable. For example, why use a 25-cent coupon online when the newspaper has a 75-cent coupon for the same item? Here's my best advice: 1. Invest in 1-2 Sunday newspapers and clip out the coupons. 2. For the coupons you use most often, go to eBay, where you can purchase extras at a very reasonable price. In our household, we focus on high-dollar items like coffee, milk,… [cont.]

A. Don't you hate it when people talk down to you for not breastfeeding? I can't stand it! We have our reasons not to do it.. No one has the right to make you feel bad for not doing it!!! Anyways, I used Similac Advance for the first few days of my daughter's life and noticed her poop was extremely watery so I was advised to try switching formulas... I did.. (Enfamil Lipil w/Iron) and it's wonderful! We just went to her 2 week check up this afternoon (she's 16 days old) and her pediatrician said she is growing wonderfully and everything sounds and looks great!! She told me to stick with Enfamil so that's exactly what I'll be doing!! Good luck!

Has anyone heard about the Similac formula issue?
Q. how can a formula company not know there vitamins does not have enough vitamin C in it. Aren't they supposed to check that? It could cause : If infants drink formula without enough vitamin C for two to four weeks, they could start exhibiting symptoms of vitamin C deficiency, which include irritability with generalized tenderness
Asked by amandaholes19 - Sat Sep 16 17:13:22 2006 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It was an isolated incident. It was not actually a lack of vitamins in the formula, it was a layer missing from the cans that affected the Vitamin C, and they did catch it, and a can of formula should not last for 4 weeks anyway unless the baby is close to a year old and eating other foods. The baby should also be on liquid vitamins anyway. Other women are using this as just one more reason to bash women that choose to formula feed!

Should I be concerned that Similac Organic and Sensitive baby formula mixes are mostly sugar?
Q. Similac Organic's third ingredient is "organic sugar." Similac Sensitive's first and second ingredient are: Corn Syrup Solids and Sugar. Should I be concerned that these formulas are mostly sugar? If anyone has been using these products please let me know how your baby reacted to them. Thanks!

A. I am not a parent, but I remember helping my father prepare "sugar water" for my brother when he was a baby about to come home from the hospital. Babies do need some sugar, and normally breast fed babies get that through their mothers. However, I know Similac has been around for years and years. I wonder how much "sugar in the formula" has been affecting kids, and teaching them a sweet tooth -- strongly contributing to the problems today with obesity. Here is a cool article on the nutrition in infant formula:
