A. If you feel up to eating I would say eat. Don't go get a huge steak or triple stack hamburger with all the fixings...lol...typically dry socket will take place about three days post op. Seems like it's healing fine then there will be a dramatic increase in pain in the socket and radiating to the ear. I rarely see patients come back in with dry socket. It wasn't due to sucking from a straw or smoking either. There was an infection at the surgical site and their surgery had been more traumatic. Just make sure you rinse your mouth out well by swishing with water when your done eating, try not to tongue the area to death and do not put your fingers in there either...happy eating!!

What do you call it when matter goes from a gas state to a solid state?
Q. I already know about: melting (solid to liquid), boiling (liquid to gas), condensation (gas to liquid), freezing (liquid to solid), and sublimation (solid to gas, like how dry ice becomes CO2 gas). So what's the sixth one? And did I get the fifth one right?

A. Go find an old guitar with each type of wood. The difference may not be readily apparent with a new guitar, but older guitars lose moisture in the most interesting ways and settle in to reveal their character. The type of wood is also not as important as the quality of that wood. If you get a soundboard with a lot of irregularities or knots, it isn't going to sound as rich as a soundboard with a tight, straight, close grain. Some less expensive guitars actually photo finish that grain onto the surface to give the guitar an appearance of quality. Not only does every type of wood sound different, every guitar sounds a little bit different. Don't take my word for it, but remember, on the day that you first hear the guitar that you… [cont.]

How do I change an oil from a liquid to a solid to a powder?
Q. This is a question from a friend of mines, but basically she wanted to know how to change rosewater oil from it's liquid state, into a solid, then take the solid and turn it into a powder based form. If anyone can answer it would be nice.
Asked by kazemakase_ran - Wed May 28 02:48:37 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I seriously doubt you can. There are hundreds of compounds in rose water oil, most of which either evaporate or just stay is a oil state. In order to get it to solid, you'd have to freeze it to pretty darn close to absolute zero. Oils just don't "dry," really, due to their structure. They're long, bent chains that don't crystallize easily. I'm not sure how much organic chemistry you know, but it's simply because it can't crystalize that you wouldn't be able to pulverize into powder. But I like the idea. You can, however, mix roseoil with epsom salt (you get that at the drugstore, people soak in it, and it's really the main ingredient in the fancy-expensive bath salts, but you can get a 10 pound bag for a few bucks at walgreens. … [cont.]

When should a kitten start eating solid food?
Q. I recetly brought home an abandonned kitten (some weeks ago). It will mostly drink milk and it seems to be about 80 percent of its diet. It's been a couple of weeks now and that hasn't change. The kitten won't touch kitten food, even soaked in water. I'm wondering if I'm not coddling it, as it where, by giving it all this milk and whether he should have mad the transition by now. Should I remove the milk and give him no option but the solid food? He will eat solid food, but only table food and I don't want to get him used that way - I gave him some chicken and beef because I was concerned he was eating no solid food. So I'm at a loss why he won't touch the kitten food. He looks very healthy and is very playful, so I don't think he's… [cont.]
Asked by Opinionatedkitten - Tue Aug 21 23:55:45 2007 - - 15 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Kittens should be eating fully by 8 weeks, starting to eat little bits at 4 possibly 5 weeks. I would start him on wet canned cat food, get him to eating it. After he has eaten it for a few days start mixing in dry kitten food & gradulally get him to all dry kitten food. Cats really need the dry food for their teeth. Some breeders will not ever feed wet food, it is all dry or some feed dry with raw meat. Cats are actually allergic to milk & will give them diarrhea as they get older. It is really the sugar in milk that hurts them so if you have to moisten dry food with milk a couple weeks get a small bottle of goat milk, or a cat of kitty milk replacer. If you do this, & take away all milk & table food & he is healthy, he will eventually… [cont.]

Why isn't a solid or liquid written in the equilibrium constant expression?
Q. For example, imagine your thermally decomposing a solid. As the amount of solid reduces the amount of gas increases.

A. Heterogeneous equilibria, since the particles are tightly packed they are considered insignificant. Gases however exert pressure inside a chamber where the equilibrium takes place.

Can you cut 3D solid objects in Solid Works into smaller pieces?
Q. I m needed to cut a solid non-uniform solid object made from several parts into cross-sectional pieces. I have tried cutting the assembly via plains but have been unsuccessful in viewing them. Think about cutting a steak into 1/4 in wide strips, each strip shows the cross section of the meat at that point. I have access to Solid Works 07 and am running 04 on my machine. If there in another program better suited I would be open to it. I get: Part with multiple bodys cannot be selected for this feature.

A. Go to "Tools" and select "Sketch Tools". In that list, you will see "Intersection curve". What this function does is generate a curve that matches where the plane intersects the surface of the solid. You can copy and paste this curve to a new sketch and use that sketch to generate a new solid, or you can use it to perform measurements or other analysis for that slice of the cross section.

Q. I know they need help in a bunch of areas but they got a QB number 1 and now they have 3 solid RB's. And a solid TE. Are they really just a good WR away from actually having an offense? Crabtree if he falls to them maybe? What do you think?
Asked by Not Rep or Dem!! - Thu Jan 29 20:49:48 2009 - - 9 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Their main priority this offseason needs to definitely be a solid, offensive lineman. Jamarcus Russell is an amazing, electrifying QB, while McFadden is an outstanding RB but no QB or RB can prosper with a horrible OL. They need to either draft or find a really good OL on the free agents list, or possibly trade for one. If they draft an offensive lineman the first round, then their 2nd round should be aimed at a WR. Some of the best receivers have came from low round picks too. Keep that in mind.

How does the entropy of the system change when a solid melts, a gas liquefies, a solid sublimes?
Q. A chemistry question that i was wondering about that we were given for our class. Any help would be appreciated immensely! We are given the following question: How does the entropy of the system change when: (a) a solid melts (b) a gas liquefies (c) a solid sublimes? Thanks for all your help!

A. I studied molecular dynamics and nuclear chemistry a long time ago, but i believe these are the answers. Solid-->Liquid=Increased Entropy (Entropy of Fusion) Gas-->Liquid=Decreased Entropy (Liquid molecules are more stable than gas molecules) Solid-->Gas=Increased Entropy (Gas molecules are in a higher state of disorder than solid molecules)

What is the boundary between solid and liquid?
Q. Apparently a jar of peanut butter turned upside down will eventually settle on the bottom. (I just asked the question here: Makes me wonder, how solid does a solid have to be, in order for it not to settle like peanut butter? Sorry for the awkward phrasing, but I'm sure you can understand my question.
Asked by innoc3nt - Wed Aug 6 19:15:54 2008 - - 3 Answers - 1 Comments

A. Glass (silicon dioxide) is a very very viscous liquid. Given enough time, all glass would settle like mush. But back to the question. Typical example of a solid is water ice. Aside from being able to sublime, that cube of ice will retain its shape and resist compression forever. That is the definition of a solid. Liquid water, aside from being able to evaporate, will have no shape but still resist compression forever. That is the definition of a liquid. To complete this picture, water vapor has no shape and can never resist compression. That defines a gas. Your example of peanut butter is a mixture of solids (mashed peanuts) and a liquid (oil). In other words, you have an emulsion that makes it a viscous liquid.

How do I gat a kitten to eat solid food?
Q. I have a 6 week old kitten and she turns her nose up to any kind of food but moms milk. She sniffs it and trys to bury it like it's cat litter. I had a litter before her and both kittens did the same..They were 7 to 8 weeks old before they would touch solid food and I had to mix solid with can (cat food) gravy. I have a home for this lil girl and the new owners are ready for her but I dont want to send her to her new home with her not eating dry food. What can I do?
Asked by pukerinpeach - Tue Feb 27 07:48:42 2007 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Just give her time - there's no point in rushing her. 6 weeks is too young to be taken form her mother anyway - 8 weeks is the absolute minimum, but 10-12 weeks is better, since by that age, the mother cat teaches the kittens many important parts of "kitty manners", such as bite inhibition. You could try mixing some kitten milk replacer (pet store) with the food to make a kind of gruel - that might ease the transition. Also, canned food is much better for cats than dry food - talk to the her new owners and maybe show them this article: But mainly, just give her time. She's still a baby, and her behavior is perfectly normal. Good luck to you and the little one! :)
