How has the dolphin population increased/decreased during the past 10 to 20 years? Any specific numbers?
Q. I have to do a project for school and I want to make a graph of how the dolphin population has increased/decreased in the past 10 or 20 years. Does anybody have any numbers? And if they've increased, why are they still considered endangered? I can't find it anywhere on the internet.
Asked by Hereigns56 - Mon Apr 20 16:05:11 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I'm having a hard time getting solid figures for the dolphin population. From what I read on the websites I found it sounds like even the experts are having a hard time answering that question. Most sources I saw said they don't know how many dolphins are living in the wild. I found a few numbers on the sea world website but their newest data was from 1995. Good luck with your project.

Q. Landlines used to have *60/call screen which would automatically reject calls from the last caller. I know it could go to voicemail, but is there a way to stop someone from getting through completely? Is there a feature like this for cell phones? It's actually personal calls and/or unknown callers.. not companies.

How does someone calculate the weight of a car given very specific numbers?
Q. If given the tire pressure and the area that each tire is in contact with the ground, how would one go about calculating the weight of the car?
Asked by Katherine - Mon Aug 31 18:29:00 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The amt of weight supported by a tire = the pressure x the area of contact it makes with the road. Add each force (calculated as above) for all the four tires to get the weight of the vehicle.

Is there any cell phone or cell phone plan that allows you to block specific numbers from calling you or texti
Q. The cell phone company just says you have to change your number if you don't want someone specific to call you any more, but that seems like a lame thing to have to do just to get someone off your back. Is there any plan or cell phone that allows you to block a number?
Asked by urusaiurusai - Thu Jun 26 01:27:18 2008 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments

A. With ATT you have two options to do this. You can enable fixed dialing on your phone so you can ONLY get/make calls from your phone book any others go straight to voicemail. However you will still rec messages if they are sent. Or you can purchase smart limits for $4.99 per month, its a feature and can be added and removed. You can block and allow numbers with the feature it will also block text messages

Do specific elements have specific numbers of shells for their electrons?
Q. If yes how come an electron can jump from one shell to the other (flame tests)? And can you please illustrate or at least describe how these things work, because it really confuses me...
Asked by tralala - Sun Sep 2 03:34:57 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The electrons are found in specific shells, yes. The flame takes electrons from occupied orbitals into unoccupied orbitals (meaning that they don't disturb those other electrons in the "assigned" shells. When the excited electron relaxes back to it's original shell, it emits the photon that you see. Hope this helps

I discovered that ring thing by accident. Luckily, I had it set to ring when my Parents called. Everyone else was on silent.

How do I block specific numbers from calling my cellphone?
Q. I have a lg Prada phone KE850
Asked by T H - Fri May 29 03:00:20 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You have to do it through the cell phone company. I have this old lady that calls my phone everyday leaving voicemails on my phone cussing me out thinking I am her nephew james. I called the phone company and asked them if their was a *number or something i can dial to block the number and they said no. They can charge you 14.99 and you can block up to 20 phone numbers or you can pay anywhere from $30-50 dollars depending on where you live and what kind of phone to get a number change. I hate to cuss the old lady out but i keep telling her she has the wrong number and she will not stop calling. good luck cause i understand.

How do I block specific phone numbers off my home phone?
Q. There are these telemarketers that keep calling every few minutes and even when I pick up the phone they still call back later. I need to get rid of them.
Asked by Nat - Wed Aug 16 15:06:45 2006 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. call your phone company and see if they can put a block on the numbers you want. Otherwise, register for the donotcall.gov list. But remember, it doesn't stop religious groups or policiticans. Another thing that works is if you tell them to stop calling and get the name and time you've called. If they keep calling, report them to donotcall.gov and they can be prosecuted.

Domain is all real numbers, how can i prove specific range?
Q. is there a general way to prove a specific range (ex. (-2,2)) for a function with a domain of all real numbers?
Asked by goldhillpoppy - Sat Sep 29 17:59:51 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. No, you have to look at the function and "test" for limit values. Some functions can only return values that are positive (for example, the square) even if the domain covers the whole line (positive and negative). Others can only return a limited range, usually cyclical functions. For example: sin(x) will always return a value in the interval [-1, +1], even if x is from anywhere in the real numbers. But, no magical recipe. Sorry. --- If you can write the inverse function, then (maybe) this inverse function has special rules for domain. The range of the original function is the domain of the inverse function. For example, the inverse function of "square" is "root" and we know that you cannot take the square root of a negative… [cont.]

How do you average out two different numbers to equal one specific number?
Q. For example, you have cups of water at 10 degrees and cups of water at 100 degrees, and your goal temperature is 25 degree. How do you figure out the number of cups of each temperature to put into a final batch that is exactly 25 degrees? If you have a specific trick, method, or formula, I'm only interested in WHY it works. I am having a hard time visualizing the answer in my head.
Asked by BUNguyenI - Thu Apr 26 16:39:07 2007 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments

A. These are called mixing problems and are laid out as follows with these two equations: (Amount of A)(Worth of A)+(Amount of B)(Worth of B)=(Total Amount)(Total Average Worth) and Amount A + Amount B = Total Amount So for your example, lets say you want 300 cups of 25 degree water Total Average Worth = 25 Total Amount = 300 Worth of A =100 Worth of B = 10 (Amount A)(100)+(Amount B)(10)=(300)(25) 100A+10B=7500 10A+B=750 But you also know that Amount A+Amount B = Total Amount A+B=300 so now you have two equations, two unknowns 10A+B=750 A+B=300 Subtract 9A=450 A=50 B=250 This lays out the basic idea of mixing problems. Hope that helps

Blackberry Curve / Want to block specific numbers.?
Q. I have the Blackberry Curve and I have the Berryblocker installed. However, it seems to be useless and will only block all calls or nothing at all. I can't truly specify that I want certain numbers to be blocked. Does anyone know if there is an option within Blackberry, where I can block numbers specifically?
Asked by Talkstress - Sun Dec 9 13:21:54 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Hello; There is no feature within the BlackBerry OS that will allow you to block a number. But there certainly is something that you can do. If you want to have the call blocked so that number will never connect to your BlackBerry, you will need to contact your cell carrier and ask them to provide the blocking. You can expect to pay for your carrier to do this. Hope this helps!

what specific meaning do the numbers of b vitamins have?
Q. why is a certain b vitamin named 1 while another 12? is it because of structure? how do those b-vitamins that aren't essentially to human diets fit in the number line of b-vitamins?
Asked by Ramsey - Thu Oct 16 18:23:54 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. When vitamin B was first discovered, scientists thought there was only one type of vitamin B (same as vitamin C). But later it was found there were actually several different types, and people just started to number them. The specific number does not really refer to a specific feature of their chemical structure, but each number is a different category. They just started to number them. First, there were 12 different vitamin B's but at some point people realized that certain vitamin B's were not essential for the human body. So some numbers (B4, B8) are now no longer called Vitamins. Currently, there are only 8 vitamin B's. Here is a website listing the different types and what they do:
