Q. What is the language spoken by the Arabs in Spain before 1492. It is not Arabic.

A. Actually it is. Spain was then called al-Andalus. The local dialect (of which Arabic famously has many) is called Andalusian Arabic. It has also been referred to as Spanish Arabic or Moorish Arabic. It is thought that this language was common, though never completely extensive, especially among the large non muslim population there (Jews who spoke Ladino and Christians spoke Mozarabic- a low form of Latin written in the Arabic alphabet). Moorish Arabic speakers were most likely able to speak both this form (which, like many arabic dialects, was quite informal) as well as more formal Classical Arabic (this made such speakers diglossic). When the reconquista drove the Moors out, Moorish Arabic was replaced by Castillian spanish, the… [cont.]

Q. William Wingfield, The Debbie Allen protege on So You Think You Can Dance, danced to a spoken word about Katrina and its victims at his audition. The flow of it was so beautiful! How does one become a well spoken person?
Q. How can one become like this, and in this I mean someone, anyone can present you with any question, and in an instant, or the time that it normally takes for you to respond to someone out comes an answer that can be respected, and thought of as well spoken. I have seen several of my idols do this, and I think it's something that's very admirable.
